Great espresso. Expert service. I wish it was full of patrons in downtown t town, they gave expert machines and a top class owner who is nice, I hope this makes Joie more popular! Friendly conversation too.

Will "ube" mine. Very clever flavor name

It was raining fairly hard just recently and my mom asked if we could bring our dog inside. The man inside said we could and was very kind to me and my mom. My dog did bark at some people who came because he was startled so we promptly left. Nonetheless the employees were cooperative and understanding. The food was amazing and was unlike anything I've ever tasted in a rolled ice cream. The Ube was flavorful and I have to say the pairing of captain crunch and coconut jelly was unique.

Ube rolled ice cream, coconut jelly, & captain crunch. Yum!

They make rolled ice cream - all kinds of interesting flavors and they look really pretty. Good tasting too. The space is a bit of a mishmash of decor, featuring a gold chest of drawers on wheels. Alrighty then.

YOLO (you obviously love oreos) on left Gotcha Matcha on right

Amazing ice cream spot! They have a great menu of flavors to choose from including vegan options and hot drinks. The staff was very friendly and it was really cool to watch them make the rolled ice cream in front of us. The portions are super generous and the ingredients are very fresh and the bowls look so cute! We got the YOLO and the Gotcha Matcha which we highly recommend. 10/10 would visit again!

Rolled ice cream was fantastic. 4 stars because it was busy and they were a bit rude. Sucks that they don't allow video recording because everyone likes to see rolled ice cream being made. Was rude to my friend when she had the decency to ask to even take a video. No where in there has a sign with "no photograph allowed"

Strawberry ice cream with real strawberries.

Really tasty ice cream, takes a bit of time to get made but well worth it. Got 4 different flavors and all were thoroughly enjoyed!

It not…read moreonly has the best Ice Cream in the area, but the shop itself is quaint and reminiscent of an old time Ice Cream shop. They have a fantastic selection of Ice cream flavors, do some seasonal flavors each year, and also offer Ice cream sodas, floats, Sundaes, and many topping choices. They also have Ice Cream in tubs to take home and some small "old-timey" snacks, candies, and gum. The hours are really good and sometimes they are open at the most unsuspected times, later than posted at times, which is always a good surprise! The prices are reasonable, I am sure some would say a bit on the higher end, but the quality is so good it is worth it. The lady who (I believe0 is the owner and all the staff are always very pleasant, and the service is very good as well. If I had any small issue at all, I would say it would be great if they did try some brand new flavors. As mentioned above, there are some seasonal flavors that come and go, but never anything brand new and I do think that would be a great addition to an already incredible place. Some notable flavors are our favorites: Banana, Coconut, Toasted Almond and Peppermint around the Holidays, I don't believe we've ever had any flavor that wasn't very good as well. Highly recommended, a really great and groovy place!

It was not my jam but could work for some. They offer real maple syrup from the White family for a $1.00 charge. I do not know if my MAPLE _________ latte had it or not, but it was too legit to quit. Not too sweet either. Clear maple taste. Whole milk requested. Served in a mug with quality java. RATING = A. Ah, I am utterly charmed! This cafe / eclectic tchotchke store is chock full of homemade goodness:…read morefrom jam, soap, and crocheted cozies in the store section, to sandwiches, salads, cupcakes, Lebanese baklava, and other baked goods in the cafe section. They bake everything in house, with specials on some days (e.g. Sweet Bun Sunday). The selection is vast, especially considering that everything is scratch made in-house. Aromas are enticing! We picked up an orange cranberry dream bar, studded with plenty of white chocolate chips, coconut, and dried cranberries, topped with orange cream cheese frosting and more dried cranberries. It was *enormous* and easily served as dessert for four. Also in our order: a streusel topped blueberry cake, as moist as could be and filled with fresh blueberries. It was also generously proportioned, large enough for at least two. We didn't try any salads, breakfast platters, or sandwiches on this visit, but they looked fantastic, based on what I saw on other customers' plates. I found that the super friendly owners are of Lebanese descent when I asked about the Lebanese baklava at checkout -- and evidently, they sometimes have Lebanese meat pies on offer! I cannot wait to come back to try every Lebanese food item they have, since my family is passionately fond of the cuisine (and really, everything else, too). I had no idea such riches could be found in Torrington! You can't throw a rock without hitting an Italian-American in this town -- not that I would ever throw a rock at an Italian-American :) -- but this is the first I've heard of a Lebanese-American contingent in these parts. I'm so glad Yelp led me here!
