What a splendid little hidden gem in Sandy Springs! Recently met a colleague here for a little coffee and coworking sesh, and we had the best experience! Service was fantastic, and their menu is full of healthy, delicious items made with fresh ingredients. Parking feels like it could get tricky on a busy day as there's only one small lot behind the building, but when I arrived there was plenty of parking spots left so definitely just depends on time of day. The little road leading down to the back lot is a bit rough, so just a heads up to take it slow (especially with a sedan or lower vehicle). We were welcomed immediately and had the chance to pick and choose our perfect spot so we could really get comfortable. Ended up in a booth and it was perfect, however, do note that outlets are limited if you need to charge your phone or laptop. As we grew hungry, we decided to indulge and I ended up ordering their signature BLT - it was fantastic! I also really appreciated that they give the option of turkey or pork bacon. Cafe I AM is the cutest restaurant/event space that I have been to in quite some time. Located in a quaint-looking house in Sandy Springs, the ambiance at Cafe I AM certainly makes you feel at home. The owners are South African/Portuguese, and their hospitality shines through the moment you walk through the doors. I have several South African friends, and I immediately smiled when I saw the cultural nods to their country throughout the space. During this visit, my husband and I kept it simple by ordering basic breakfast foods: I ordered the breakfast plate that consisted of two eggs over-medium, tomatoes, avocado, bacon and a slice of buttered toast. My husband ordered a pressed panini and a coffee. My husband loved his panini. In truth, my food was just OK. I was hoping there would be more local spices or ingredients used to jazz up the dish. What a fantastic find! My amazing Yelp teammate, OTP CM Alexa and I finally had an opportunity to schedule a long-awaited coworking session after we both became moms in recent months. Living on opposite sides of the perimeter, we always try to check out a new place in our neck of the woods. Well, I planned for us to go somewhere downtown but it will still a bit out of the way and then I stumbled upon Cafe I Am. Neither of us live in Sandy Springs but I figured it could work. Spoiler alert: It did and better than ever expected. When I pulled up to Cafe I AM, I almost thought that I was in the wrong spot. The exterior presents as a beautiful classic home in a residential neighborhood, but has a banner flying which made it stand out. I drove down a little driveway down into a parking lot that fit about a dozen or so cars. So secluded and neighboring a bunch of trees and a quiet plaza next door. I would have never found this place if not for Yelp! The place is gorgeous inside! Draped in various shades of whites and creams, this is what I imagine the coffee shop in heaven to look like, lol. There were about 6 tables inside and 2 big booths, as well as great seating options outside on the terrace. It was quiet aside from the fantastic playlist that was on in the background. Seriously a fantastic vibe, especially for working remotely. I'm so sad that I didn't get the name of the gentleman who greeted and assisted me when I first sat. He told me he was a therapist and he was so welcoming and kind! We talked about college connections and more about the cafe, I was so wrapped up in chatting ( and just having new mom brain), I neglected to get his name but he's all over their social media and I see why. He's a gem!! When Alexa arrived, we were also helped by a woman who is the manager - another gem. She was so patient, so kind, they both moved with such ease and knew so much, I thought they were the owners! They just genuinely seemed to be loving the day and invested in the cafe. It shows! I started with a pumpkin spice latte which was delivered to me with a heart design - too cute! The latte was deliciousssss. There were so many yummy options on the menu, it was difficult to choose what I wanted. Later on, I decided to order a Nut-A-Latte and the avocado toast + salmon and bacon on the side. The Nut-A-Latte was really a looker. Unfortunately the coffee wasn't sweet enough for me. With the nutella in the mix, I was sure I wouldn't need extra sweetener (I don't even love super super sweet drinks) but, idk what happened! I don't blame the team at all, it looked perfectly prepared, I think it was just my tastebuds. But the avocado toast? Wow! They didn't have ahi tuna that day or I would have opted for that one, but I'm glad I went with the avocado toast. What an absolutely beautiful presentation! It was so delicious, the bacon was perfect and the salmon was a nice addition to the toast. Delicious. Not only do you have this gorgeous cafe at this location, but they also have a hair salon! Stopped in for a coffee and WOW so glad we stumbled upon this gym. Owner is Portuguese and South African if I'm not mistaken? Either way, vibes are immaculate and food/drinks even better. Ordered 2 cappuccinos (good list of milk options & alternatives) and a slice of French Vanilla Almond cake. All of the baked goods are made fresh Daily and trust me you cannot skip them! Can't believe I've not heard of this place. It's a pretty cool South African cafe. Amazing vibes, indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff and amazing food, bakery items and coffees. We were in the neighborhood and wanted to grab some coffee. This location showed up in Yelp and we decided to try it. Parking was easy and the staff greeted us right away. There was a cricket match going on so we decided to join a few others to watch the match till the end. We got their speciality coffee - which was the bomb! Can't remember all the ingredients but definitely a must have! We also got the breakfast panini, caprese panini and a cappuccino plus a lemon bar on the way out. For a first timer it is a bit confusing as it is appears to be a repurposed house, but otherwise the ambience is very welcoming. I was visiting for a quick cup of coffee. Settled on tea. Some amazing cbd infused varieties. I don't remember the ones I had, but the tea was very refreshing and served in a kettle. Actually one tea can be sufficient for 2 people. This review is not necessarily about Cafe I am, but rather about some underhanded practices. We purchased tickets to see Jerry Farber, a great comedian who we have seen before. Tickets were $25 each plus taxes and fees, that was fine. Ticket stated 2 item minimum. We arrived at Cafe I Am and were told we had to spend a minimum of $25/person. Since there were 3 of us, we expected it to be $75. we each ordered a drink to start and two appetizers to share. Later my husband ordered another drink and a dessert to share. (more than the $75 minimum for the table). My husband asked for his tab to be closed out and to get his receipt. He was shown the final amount of $135 - he asked for a breakdown and the staff member started voiding charges and adding new things. He explained that 2 guests hadn't met their minimum and so he added the difference. They put all the food on one guest's tab and added the difference needed to make up $25 on each of the other guests. Three people had 4 drinks and 3 food items! This is not legitimate and I advise anyone going to an 'extra' event here to ask to see their bill. read more

We made a reservation on Seated, an app where you earn money back on meals at certain restaurants (use my code erin2109 and we both get $10!), so we got a percentage back! Our waiter was super friendly and sweet. The restaurant is airy and bright. They have a lovely outdoor area with a lot of tables. The waiter explained that the restaurant is part of a wellness compound. Here's what we got: Chai Latte ($5.95), Double Latte ($5.50), Breakfast Plate ($16.95), Breakfast Panini ($17.95), and Salmon Toast ($20.95). Everything was good, but the prices are outrageous, especially since the Breakfast Panini and Salmon Toast didn't even come with a side. Because of the Seated app, we got 19% off our meal, which was much more reasonable. Without the percentage off, it's not worth it. I would only go if you use Seated! read more

I was really excited to try this place out and wanted to enjoy it. However, a few aspects of the experience were off-putting. I'll start with the positives: This is among the more interesting venues in the context of sitting in a residential neighborhood (in what seems to be a repurposed home) but also not too far from the main drag of Sandy Springs. I even enjoyed the piano and the South Africa theme that was prevalent through the posters and notices. Decor was eclectic and partially wacky. The people working there are clearly busy...juggling many responsibilities relating to host, server, billing, cooking, etc. It almost seems like they are understaffed, but they were really friendly nonetheless. I ordered a keto breakfast plate. Took a little while to come, but when it did, it was pretty decent. They forgot some other aspects of my order, but it wasn't a big deal, and I didn't really care. What bothered me was that, at the end, when paying the bill, you can see the kitchen and the worker making the food. That worker then served the food to customers outside and touched the doorknob and the door itself. Any common sense sanitation protocol suggests that after you turn a doorknob, you should wash your hands before handling more food. But he didn't do that instead went on touching more food with his bare hands upon returning to the kitchen. Needless to say, I was turned off by the lack of hygiene. read more

They have GF healthy choices that make me feel good when I'm finished eating. Service is always great and the parking is behind the restaurant. I saw this cafe on google and the reviews made it look like a homely little spot. Upon arrival I was confused if I was in the correct place because there was no sign with the name outside. (It's located in a neighborhood across from a church). Upon walking in, it looked like Cafe I Am shares the space with another business. The cafe is sectioned off and right when you walk in there are white tables and a server to greet you. The aesthetic of white looks great in pictures but up close everything was quite worn in. I moved to about three different tables before finding my perfect spot. I would have preferred a booth but both were taken when I walked in. They also have amble seating outside. I ordered the Caprese panini and a chai tea. The art work of the chai was cute, a little heart of cinnamon. Originally when the chai was brought out, it was only half full with mainly foam, but the server came back later to re-fill the cup with more tea to make a full cup. The capresse panini was pretty good. I didn't love the lettuce on it as it gave it a different flavor and it felt like I was eating wet/wilted lettuce. Overall, cute spot. read more

I dropped in this afternoon (a little before 3pm) to grab a late lunch and a coffee. When I entered, I was warmly greeted and seated. The waiter asked me if it was my first time there and I said yes! He was very informative and helpful. He even asked me if I needed the Wi-Fi password and helped me connect my computer. The menu was full of delicious food options as well as drink options. It is clear to see they put a lot of thought into dietary needs of customers because there were options for any dietary requirements. The drink selections ranged from teas (CBD!), coffees/lattes, as well as an extensive bar menu. I selected the avocado toast and added eggs with an iced latte. I enjoyed the ambiance as well. The patio is beautiful and would be perfect for working, catching up with friends or even to just have time to yourself reading your favorite book. The overall vibe was calming and positive. I haven't been back since the opening because of the COVID situation, but I dropped by recently after a friend and I had finished lunch. I wanted to show him the spot, and it was just as amazing as the first time. I think there was a national soccer game that day, so there were tons of people dawning jerseys, there was a TV out front, and the place was very lively. We didn't get any food or anything -- just some CBD tea. I had never had it before and I think I'm hooked! Tea is usually a go-to for me when I want to relax but with the CBD added, it made it even more relaxing. Don't even get me started on how amazing the customer service was! What a nice little find in Sandy Springs. Even though I've lived in the area for years I got lost finding my way to this place because it's in a neighborhood I've never had a need to go into. It's a small and really clean restaurant. There's outdoor seating and the inside looks like a spa which I believe it does share a space with some type of healing spa Clinic. I tried a veggie panini which was soooo good. It reminded me of eating them in college. It was full of yummy flavor and the owner/chef was whipped up an oil dipping sauce recipe with jalapeño that he gave to me to try. It was amazing! They also have a selection herbal healing teas with cbd. If you love tea this is enough of a reason to visit. This place is a gem, a real vibe! Super cute, secluded and great energy. This is perfect if you want a change from the mainstream hustle of a regular coffee shop. The entire shop was seemingly run by 3 people, the owner and main barista being 2 of the 3 so be patient, it can take a little bit to get your main order in. We arrived on a Monday around 9am - you seat yourself. We opted for the spinning table and chairs by the kitchen. If you love cheese, this is the place for you. A lot of the dishes, sandwiches come with it. Unfortunately we don't eat it, but we were able to experience the Flaming Sausage which was super good. The Habanero oil on top of the sausage, amazing. I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but I wanted to try it. I order the latte with oat milk and the cappuccino, so smooth and bold. I visited for Cafe I am for their grand opening. They are located in a beautiful building that has been renovated into the perfect space for the Cafe. The space doubles as a Cafe and a wellness center that offers a variety of holistic treatments and products. There is parking located down the driveway behind the building. When you enter as well as outside, the space is BEAUTIFUL. You can tell that there was a lot of thought that went into the design. The owners Vanda and Miguel were both very friendly, and Vanda actually took time to sit and talk with me teach me more about their business. I ordered -1/2 Turkey and Cheese Panini -1/2 Garden Salad -Chamomile Lavender Tea I am not much of a sandwich or panini person, but I can honestly say that this panini was delicious. The cafe prides itself on not having any added sugars, or GMO ingredients and you can tell that effort was put into creating a very fresh and whole taste for the food. The bread stood out as well. The salad was good and served with a vinaigrette dressing. I wanted to try the hemp tea, but decided against it since I had to work, but the Chamomile Lavender was flavorful and calming. I also received a tour of the wellness space where I received a menu of their services which included energy work in different capacities.
