Such a cute cafe next to the Boiling Crab! My friend and I came upon this cafe after eating at the mandu restaurant next door. We were intrigued by their soju cocktails and thought we would give them a try. The cafe is extremely spacious and the lady who took our order was very friendly. My friend and I both got the mango soju cocktail (at the nice lady's recommendation!) and it was delicious. They also serve boba, coffee drinks, and other alcoholic beverages aside from cocktails. When we got our soju cocktails the lady brought us a bowl of popcorn to have with our drinks. While drinking our cocktails we noticed that a lot of Boiling Crab patrons would come in for a drink while they wait for their table to be ready, and the cafe also allows takeout patrons to eat their seafood boil at the cafe, which I thought was very nice of them!
This place gives off mom and pop shop vibes, I came in on a sunday while waiting for boiling crab next door and decided to get the matcha tea with boba, I also got a mango peach slush with boba and a hot tea for a total of 20$. The asian lady behind the counter took our order she was kind of stern but we disregarded her attitude since we really didn't care... we were just waiting there to kill time lol. However, what caught my attention was that EVERYONE was eating boiling crab inside the establishment. So we asked another lady working there, who was very nice and accommodating to everyone inside, if we were allowed to eat inside with outside food and she said yes! She quickly cleaned a table for us and rest assured we canceled our spot for boiling crab and ordered take out instead and ate inside this cute little cafe. Overall this was an unexpectedly nice experience because even when we were eating outside food, inside this establishment, the asian lady who seemed younger than the first lady behind the counter took really good care of us. She offered us more drinks to which we said yes and we ordered a Japanese beer which she recommended. She later brought us the check to our table for the beers and we paid 21$ plus 13$ tip. Im not so sure but i think they charge a difference if you eat / drink there or when you take it to go lol i don't want to spread rumors but that didn't matter to me because i was so satisfied with the service money was no issue. I will definitely come back to this place even if it just to study!
Nobody was behind the counter when we came in. 3 people were in line. When the old Asian woman returned to the counter, I made my order. My friend walked up, saw that the ladies' room was blocked by trash bins and asked if she could wash her hands. The woman said no. I told her to use the men's room which is what I did. The old woman told her she couldn't use it and not to go in there. When my friend left, I asked the old woman why she couldn't use the men's room. She replied, "She's not a customer." I said, "She IS a customer. She's going to buy something." She said, "No. She has to buy something first, then she can use the restroom." Well, she didn't communicate that! I used the men's room bc the woman wasn't there BEFORE I bought anything. I told my friend what the woman said as she walked up to the counter, but she didn't use the restroom. Amount of Boba was chintzy for $6.50. My friend got several slices of Dole pineapple and mainly whipped cream for over $6. Not worth it. Five of us who bought food from her establishment sat outside at the table and talked. Later the old woman came out and told us we had to move because she had to do something with the table and that we had ordered to go. We got the message and left. The cafe was empty inside. This was about 2:30pm on a Sat. We left feeling unwelcomed and vowed to not patronize this establishment again. Prices were expensive, establishment was out of a lot of things on the menu, the old Asian woman was rude and unfriendly. BTW, we were all Asian woman.
Years ago it was hard to find Dole Whip except for Disneyland. It's easier to get these days. Café Home right next to Boiling Crab in KTown serves this tangy fluffy pineapple delight. After being disappointed at Honeymee, the rest of the Yelp crew found our way to Cafe Home to get some Dole Whip to share. This restaurant is deep so finding the cashier to go will take you to the end of the restaurant. Craving for Dole Whip in KTown? You found your spot.
Oh yeah! This is a place where you want to eat your shrimps, crabs, crawfish and oysters from next door, Boiling Crab. Wait time's max is half an hour during the busy hours of dinner but that's better than a 2-hour wait! Be ready to get dirty, be who you are and have fun with the food. They have big screen TVs and if it's a game season, that is what you are going to expect. Otherwise,a Korean show will be on their screen all day long. This is where I get my sweet potato latte. It's really good although the price is $5.00 for a cup. They also serve draft beers and other drinks to wash down your BC goodness with a bowl of popcorn. That's cool. With the staff, they're attentive and I have not experienced any rudeness. This place is clean and have a relaxed environment. I have visited this place so many times. The bathroom? Think of a spa. Super clean!

Cafe Home is cafe that serves beer, coffee, and boba. They also have tvs to watch games. I ordered a hot Taro boba and my sister had the almond boba. Both were really good! What's really awesome about this place is that it is right across from Boiling Crab, the super delicious Cajun-spiced seafood restaurant that has a long wait. Cafe Home is really nice about letting customers bring in their Boiling Crab take-out to eat here. *All you have to do is have each person in your party buy a drink. They even help you set up the table! Really great service! read more

Cute little cafe. They have a variety of teas and other beverages. They also serve alcohol. I drank some fat tire here while waiting for BC. It seems that most of it's clientele comes from people waiting for BC and they even allow you to bring your take out order of BC and eat there. The service is great a friendly group of waiters. read more

This place had fresh squeezed KIWI JUICE!! Amazing! Never in all my years did I even think such a thing was possible. It was extraordinary. A giant glass....of fresh pressed kiwi. I don't know if you heard me - kiwi juice. It was smooth and sweet and sour all at once. They must have used 20 kiwis to make this one cup of juice. I WILL be coming back. Only in K-Town..... read more

You can eat your boiling crab here. But in order to do so each person in your party must order a drink. I'd rather purchase a drink than wait an hour or even more to dine in at boiling crab. What about you?! If you choose this option simply what you do is ask Cafe Home if they have any tables that you can eat your boiling crab at. If so place an order with the to-go boiling crab and enjoy your food at Cafe Home! The drinks were pretty decent. The taro tasted pretty good despite it being made with powder. We also got a strawberry smoothie that was alright. The service at Cafe Home was great. They did everything for us from putting our boiling crab bibs on to cleaning up the aftermath. They even gave us ketchup because boiling crab didn't give us enough for our Cajun fries. read more

This restaurant lets you bring your Boiling Crab orders and you can eat here provided you order drinks or any of their desserts. I met a server who's commonly called, "Mama." We love her! She opens the boiling crab bags for you. She makes sure you have everything you need to enjoy your "crustaceans." When I asked her to take a photo of me and my friends, she noticed my cel's running low on battery. She immediately asked what kind of phone I have. She then took my cel and charged it. Wow! Talk about service! She's really nice and the rest of the staff were so helpful. read more

Very cozy place with free wi-fi...I am actually writing this review at this place right now.. Ordered tiramisu and iced mocha blend. My tiramisu was frozen...how was I supposed to eat that? My iced mocha blend was better than I expected. The wi-fi was great and fast. I had the TV showing korean show in front of me. There's an ATM machine here and you can play with board games like battleship, scrabble or monopoly with your friends. Ok..I better go because I could smell someone's smoking....*coughing* 3.5 stars!! Cafe Home is kinda yummylicious!! read more

There's no where else you can get dole whip! I'm so glad I can get it delivered now. Don't like paying for a small order fee? Don't worry, get a bag of hot Cheetos! read more
Whenever I want Korean shaved ice, this is the first place I think of. The portions are large and I don't know what they put in it (I don't usually like Korean shaved ice, I like Taiwanese better), but they better keep doing it, 'cause it's so tasty. I always get the one with red bean & mixed fruits, but I think next time I'm going to try the one with ice cream. Other than the delicious desserts and drinks they offer here, they have an assortment of games available for customers to play with! I played Jenga for the first time here, and Connect 4 for the first time in 16 years. Just because of that, I have to add an extra star. Oh! I have to add another star as well (there's not enough stars actually) for the music they play. They have several TVs around the shop, including a giant projector, playing MBC Music Core performances, so it's all kpop music, all day, everyday. Cafe Home is a really nice, chill place to relax, grab a drink or dessert, and chat with friends, family, dates, significant others, etc. Definitely coming back, since it's now one of my favorite spots in ktown. I LOVE IT HERE ^o^ P.S. Can someone tell me why it's okay customers are allowed to bring and eat Boiling Crab in here?! LOL it's cool and all but it's kind of strange and I wouldn't mind if only BC's food wasn't so smelly. read more
This place is a great cafe to study at. Closes late and free, stable wifi. Outlets aren't that plentiful, so you just have to snag the right table. However, the waiters brought over a surge protector for us to use, which was nice. We all got our own drinks and shared 2 waffles between 4 people. Waffles were just okay, nothing special. Boba was pretty good considering you get 1 free refill, which is a great deal especially for K-town. I got the taro milk tea and liked it, although my friend really hated the iced mocha latte she ordered, and I've have to agree--it was bitter and watery. I don't think I would come here unless I needed to get some work done late at night, but if I did, this is the place to be! read more
The EATING BOILING CRAB at CAFE HOME experience : I went to Boiling Crab with my friends and they didn't want to wait 1.5 hours so they suggested that we buy our BC to go and eat it at Cafe Home across the plaza (they've done it several times before). It seemed really strange that this place would allow people to bring their stinky/messy boiling crab in here and eat as long as they order a few drinks. I asked a bunch of employees at both establishments and it seemed normal to them. Apparently, they have some sort of agreement with BC to allow people to eat there. We bought 3 bags of shrimp from BC and brought it over to Cafe Home, ordered a couple of beers and started digging in. Not exactly your full Boiling crab experience but we did lay out the plastic and put on the bibs that BC gave us. We realized we lacked some basic condiments like lemon, salt and pepper, water, etc. I was hesitant to ask the Cafe Home workers for water and paper towels so my friend asked and the worker seemed completely used to it. There were 2 other tables also eating their BC-togo inside Cafe Home. The beer we got from Cafe Home was $6.50 for a tall glass. I got a Fat Tire and my friend got a Blue Moon (came with a fat orange slice) from tap. Both beers were really good but then again, it's beer. Another friend ordered a strawberry boba drink that was about $5. The tapioca pearls were good and the tea was decent. It has a really chill atmosphere - dimly lit with a bunch of TVs showing sports and kpop concerts. There's also a bunch of board games to play and magazines to read. After we finished, we cleaned up all the food and put them into the big plastic bags that they came in so that the table was just the way we found it when we came in. We ended up paying $19.00 + a generous tip to Cafe Home for the drinks (but mostly for the table space, I guess) The price is pretty steep for drinks but we got to eat our Boiling Crab without having to wait forever. Bringing outside food in here made me feel a little uncomfortable but it's A-OK with them! I wouldn't necessarily do it again unless my friends want to but you could do it if you don't want to wait for a table. I would definitely ask the workers if its still OK before you do just to make sure. read more
