Great coffee. Relaxed place to sit. Pastry is ok but it's a coffee shop and that is great.

I had been going to cafe grumpy in nyc for years, and was super excited to come to the Miami location. Well, I hate to say this, but the quality is no where near that of the cafe in NYC. My boyfriends almond milk cappuccino was too hot to drink, and burned his lips. There was also no artwork on the milk. My coffee, a regular cappuccino, was also overly hot. I trust the name cafe grumpy and truly believed that their standards were enforced all throughout the east coast, but that definitely wasn't the case. Honestly, just writing this review bc I am such a fan of the cafe, I'm truly disappointed to see what kind of coffee standards they are allowing now. read more

I miss all things NYC so was very happy to find out Cafe Grumpy was in the Gables and decided to check it out one very hot Saturday morning. I wanted to try the cold brew chill since it was 100 degrees out, but the lady at the counter said they were out. So, because I love to torture myself and I had a make a quick decision, I ordered a cappuccino. It was very good, but probably not something you'd want to drink in sweltering heat. I was a wet mop after a walk around the block. Looking forward to going back and getting that cold brew chill though. It's calling my name. read more

We ordered the Jasmine Citrus Iced Tea and Iced Latte to help us cool down from the Miami heat. I would recommend to skip the iced tea and try their coffee instead. The iced latte was good, no need to add any syrup or sugar! The cafe is small and the decor is minimal. There is some seating available but keep in mind the tables are close to each other. Street parking is available in the front and a parking lot is located a few blocks away. read more

I love the name of this coffee shop that's the second thing that called my attention to this cafe the first being it's a coffee shop!!! And we all know how much I love coffee. When I got in the place it look very neat and clean which was very nice and quite. The seating are is cute and small. I ordered the iced latte, it wasn't so bad but I really wasn't into it ... it was just a tad much of dark and no white if you get me it was to strong and I wasn't really in a espresso mood but the flavors taste nice and bold . The sweets they got look really delicious they have buttercream cupcakes which are my fave . And the ppl that work in this cute little place where nice and speedy latte makers. Tea lovers fear not, they also offer a selection of organic teas, tisanes, and iced options like a jasmine citrus. While the snack selection may be fairly limited, they do have some basics to curb your hunger like croissants, cupcakes, or banana bread. The space itself is fairly sparse, with some trendy chairs and wallpaper, and a smattering of plants. It should be noted that the seating is limited and not the most comfortable for longer stretches, so this is not the place to come if you need to camp out to work. Cafe Grumpy is all about the coffee! They serve all types of coffee, even some nitrogen cold brew I didn't get to try because it wasn't available. I went one week day morning and it was surprisingly empty. I got a cup of Joe fairly quick. I had a cappuccino and my boyfriend had an iced coffee. They also serve some vegan baked goods. We had a cinnamon bun and a cup cake. Everything tasted great. I hope more people try them out because their coffee is really good. Also any place that serves vegan food deserves a shout out. read more

These was my favorite meme, so when I found out there was a Cafe Grumpy I knew I had to make it here! Small cute and cozy coffee shop off of Ponce De Leon in the Gables! It was early so street paid parking was easy peasy! They have assorted little gifts and coffee for purchase with the grumpy face, yasss! With the purchase of the mug, you get your free coffee which I loved! Nice location in the heart of the Gables. We visited on 1/14/2024 at 3PM Coffee (cappuccino) too string and bitter. Danish/Pastries taste and look like those box pastries (purchased by dozen) from a supermarket, not bakery quality. For the price spend your money somewhere else. read more

I decided to come here for breakfast and ended up paying $15 for toast and iced coffee. I was shocked and didn't enjoy the toast. It was one piece of bread cut in half with almond butter on it. I didn't feel that good after. I don't know if it was guilt or what I ate. Prices like this make me want to go to Starbucks. read more

Fun and hip spot great for meetings or studying. The menu was very clear and easy to read. The barista was kind and friendly and answered any questions I had. I got the turmeric latte with almond milk and it was a tad cold. I think it may need to be steamed for longer. The atmosphere was chill and hip and they had interesting art in the walls. Overall a good experience, just wish my drink hotter. read more

The catchy name and cute logo is what brought me into this new coffee spot in the Gables. The shop was kept very clean and organized with cute merchandise to purchase. The art selection is pretty nice! Small seating area and kept fairly quiet. Menu is pretty straight forward with plenty of options. The barista was very friendly and offered to have me try their oat milk to make sure I liked it. I ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk and it was delicious! Perfect balance between matcha and milk and well blended matcha. Also, I thought it was great that they had cold brew ready to go in bottles (with milk and without). Street parking is available and that could be a bit of a pain in the Gables. So I had to park pretty out of the way from the location. read more

I was looking to enjoy a nice cup of coffee after Sunday Service. I drove around twice to get a parking spot, no problem. I get to the cafe and I order a coffee with almond milk and avocado toast. I was not allowed to use the rest room. Apparently it is closed, so I canceled my toast order since I wanted to spend some time enjoying my coffee. I come out and the coffee cup is dripping. It was so full it was dripping out. I open the lid to have it spill on my hand and burn me and there is no almond milk. Fun times. I suppose the name says it all. read more

Love Cafe Grumpy in NYC so decided to come by this one on my last trip to Miami. The coffee is just as good as I remember, shop itself was a little small and not really kept in the cleanest condition. Glad I was able to visit it though. The only thing keeping me from giving 5-stars is the air conditioning situation, it was hot in there (I couldn't stay longer than 10 minutes). Discovered Cafe Grumpy in Chelsea NYC about 10 years ago. As an Australian traveler, I'd say it was probably the first great espresso based coffee I found in the US. Now living in Miami since 2010, we usually stop there when visiting NY (along with Toby's Estate - an Australian transplant - and 9th St Espresso).
