This place is our new favorite. The food was excellent. It's pretty unassuming and you have to know where it is. Great people and service. Some of the best sushi we've had in Daytona. Prices are fair too. If you haven't tried it definitely swing by.

The staff were so welcoming as soon as we walked in. The waitress explained the menu and all the specials, she gave great recommendations! The sushi was super fresh and my favorite was the fantasy roll! The ambience is quaint and inviting, no sign=Cafe Du Japan! It seems as if many locals come in because they know the majority of their customers by name. Stop in and enjoy, you won't be disappointed!

It is true that this place has the absolutely BEST and freshest sushi in the area. If you can't find it don't worry someone will know where to go I've had an excellent experience each and every time I've been here. Seeing how it's less than .25 from my house, guess what. I'm here a lot!! The owners are amazing. They go out of their way to make sure you are having a spectacular time. This is my favorite favorite sushi place in all of Flagler and Volusia counties! And lucky me. I'm soooooooo close! Try it today!!!

Amazing authentic fresh sushi ! Javanese fresh sushi ! I had the tuna lover and my husband had ten sashimi and hamachi (jaw meat of yellow tail) he said it was amazing! Staff was all friendly and everyone masked !

Hidden gem...even finding the location can leave you with a few ???? But once you find it, you'll never forget!

As a local, I had heard lots of rave reviews about this place but was weary of the service. We arrived at 5:30 on a Friday to a half full restaurant and were waited on promptly by Nicole. She was great and helped us understand the menu and order system. The sushi was fresh, hot (when cooked), and beautifully displayed. Loved the fried eel and oh my god roll. This would have been a 5 star review, but the only issue is when we decided to add one more roll to the order, the place had started getting busy but we ordered quickly...just a simple California roll. It took over a half hour to be served and even then only because I walked up to the chef and asked for it in a to-go box. As anyone going on s date night knows, when you have a babysitter, time is of the essence. I wish I could say we'd return, but unfortunately Tokyo in Ormond is just as good and much more customer friendly.

the ONLY place we go for sushi! local spot, great prices, never had a complaint. everything is wonderful, both the food items and the sushi... can't say enough about this place. we love to bring out of town friends here. there are other trendy sushi spots in town, but if it's what's on your plate that matters the most, come here instead!!! expertly trained sushi chefs, chill local vibe, and easy on the wallet (even if you order a table full of rolls). and definitely order the spicy edamame!

This is a hidden Gem. Great sushi and other options. Very economically priced and good service. The locals don't like telling tourists about this place because it is that good. They don't want it to be overrun by outsiders.

My favorite sushi spot by far! It's a small restaurant so sometimes it take a while to be seated but it's worth that wait!

This is…read morehands down one of my go-to spots when I'm craving fresh, high-quality sushi in the Daytona area. First, let's talk about the food--the most important part. Everything is incredibly fresh, and you can absolutely taste the difference. The fish has that clean, just-cut quality, and nothing ever feels like it's been sitting around. I really appreciate that everything is made to order. Instead of overwhelming you with everything at once, you can order what you want as you go, which makes the whole experience more relaxed and enjoyable. It also ensures that every dish comes out fresh, at the perfect temperature, and exactly when you're ready for it. Another standout is how quickly the food comes out. Even when the restaurant is busy, the kitchen runs efficiently, and dishes arrive promptly without sacrificing quality. That balance--speed and freshness--is not easy to achieve, but they do it very well here. The service is truly impeccable. Aidan, in particular, was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell he enjoys what he does, and that energy makes a difference. The entire staff is consistently warm and professional, making you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. It's the kind of place where you're not just another table--you're taken care of. The ambiance also deserves recognition. The restaurant is very clean and well-maintained, which is something I always notice right away. There's an open kitchen, which I love--it gives you full transparency and adds to the overall confidence in the freshness and quality of the food. The lighting is just right--bright enough to see everything clearly (including how beautiful the sushi presentation is), but still warm and inviting so you can relax and enjoy your meal. It's also a very spacious restaurant with plenty of seating, so you don't feel cramped, even during peak hours. Parking is easy and convenient, which is always a plus in this area. Overall, Sushi King delivers on every level: fresh, made-to-order food, fast service, a clean and inviting environment, and a team that truly knows how to take care of their guests. If you're looking for a reliable sushi spot that consistently gets it right, this is it. Highly recommend--and I'll definitely keep coming back.

An experience so nice, we went twice!…read more We discovered this lovely gem on a recent stay in Daytona Beach. Our first night in town, we seemed to be striking out on restaurants that offered more than one or two items gluten free. That is, until I found the menu online for mama foo foo. I can say with confidence that Mama Foo Foo knows how to do gluten free food the right way. Our first visit was for dinner, and the ambiance was on point. Perfectly lit, short wait, cool art, and great music. The waitress was very knowledgeable about gluten free options, and even offered alternatives when she discovered that they were out of gluten free crackers for the burrata and fig. My dinner, the honey glazed scallops with lobster risotto and grilled carrots, was prepared perfectly. The staff was attentive, refilling drinks and water and checking in regularly. Price was very reasonable for the quality of food. A solid five star visit. It was so good in fact that we came back a few days later for brunch to enjoy their signature wagyu smash burger. I opted for the breakfast version (fried egg, avocado and tomato relish toppings) while my husband went with the more traditional lunch version. Again, the waiter was attentive and immediately knew to advise me that the fries were dusted with flour and offered alternatives. The grapefruit dressing on the salad was delish! Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu the next time we are in town.

Same with the cheesy bread. It was really disappointing for the price. Also the pasta came out cold and they were really nice and apologized.

I had a bite and thought it was weird and my husband tried a bite and said the same. I started a second bite and spit it out. I told the yaki cook and he said he did not recommend him making another because they were all "like that". Our server pretty much disappeared after the food started so we had to ask for him. When we told him about the lobster he seemed to have heard it before. He asked us if it tasted old and we said yes. He said he could not do anything without talking to the manager. She asked him to bring the plate back but spice I was still eating the scallops he said we could put the lobster on a side plate to go back for the chef to see. But then this manager woman came out and started grilling us about how much lobster we ate. She said it was a 6 oz tail and not near that much came back. I said I had a bite and hubs had a bite and there were 3-4 bites sent back to her so there's your 5 oz. She kept saying too much was eaten. We told her we've been there before without complaint. She said she would just take the lobster off the bill and we said that was all we were asking. She clearly thought we were scamming her for free lobster. As it turned out, the bill was $17 less with the lobster refund. We paid and left. No fun. Luckily we weren't seated by the door so we didn't freeze. our cook didn't do much of a show-- no shrimp tossing, and too much salt.

Great food, service was great and they had Yamagobo. Always a good sign…read more Check them out!
