I was told that when the king of Italy came to Palermo for the inauguration of the opera house (1897 I believe it was) and stopped in front of it, he looked around and said; "- this the Sicilians don´t deserve" - never left his equipage and travelled on. He could have entered the building to the right of the entrance to visit the bar/restaurant and had himself a meal. High class atmosphere, where the summer breeze sweeps through the open doors and the food is excellent. My risotto was superb. All very Sicilian at its best. I deserve it - and the Sicilians?
