Toward the end of our most recent trip to Sicily, we were completely exhausted and so full from eating delicious, filling meals every day that we just decided to stop into Café touring for a quick bite. Everything here looked and smelled so good that our "quick bite" rapidly morphed into full meal with multiple arancini accompanied by a wonderful bottle of their house wine. All the food was nothing short of amazing, the prices were incredibly reasonable, and the service was welcoming and friendly :-) While we ended up overeating yet again, we left feeling not even the least bit guilty; we enjoyed a very special meal and look forward to returning again on a future trip to Palermo. read more

Ethereal selection of Sicilian sweets in a bustling, grandiose setting. Popular spot, with an array of pastry, sweets and cakes that were described as typical Sicilian. Cannoli (big and small), smoothly iced cakes and alarmingly coloured cassata. The Sicilian cassata damn near killed me - so sweet. But I couldn't stop eating it... a strong espresso was necessary to kill the sugary pain. read more

After a fantastic lunch at Bar Touring we found this little sister cafe close to town; however, compared to the Bar Touring the coffee was mediocre. The menu was similar but not hectic as the other one. It's a little more formal looking with nicer setting and more seating but quiet empty. While the cappuccino was delicious, it was not hot, as it ought to have been (and as was requested). Also, the staff ordered us to sit at a certain table (for no evident reason) despite our preference to sit elsewhere as we were toting hefty baggage. Additionally, though they advertised free wifi (which was our main reason for stopping in), it didn't work and they had a laissez-faire/rude attitude about rectifying the situation for us. Excellent arancina, i love the cheese and spinach. The cafe is beautifully decorated, mostly in white, with antique glass on the walls. I was walking down the street and was lured in by the ornate gelato case, and the beautiful pastries. read more

Arrancini!! Go there. Then walk over and sit in the Botanical garden and enjoy. Such nice guys too. The panini look good too, but haven't tried them. read more

Any time I see a good cannoli I stop to take a look at the place. Well lit on via Roma this little place was the perfect stop while on a stroll. Good panini and desserts. Can't go wrong here. read more
