Great place, found it on Yelp! We wanted a quiet place with good wifi to do work in the suburbs, and we found it. I got an iced oat milk latte with sugar free vanilla and a piece of banana walnut bread, while my dining partner got an iced pumpkin spice latte with soy milk and a lemon raisin scone. I was in Chicagoland for business and stumbled upon this place while killing some time. I can almost always go for some coffee so I decided to stop in and see what they had. Cafe de Oro isn't the most walkable place to go, but they're at a pretty busy intersection with a parking lot and a drive-thru. Walking in, I was surprised how large the place was. Most coffee shops I've been to are smaller in size, but Oro is open and airy with clean lines and a minimal aesthetic. There's a small selection of pastry, snacks, and a number of drinks. I was in the mood for iced coffee so I decided on that. It was pretty good with a nice smooth flavor. All the employees I encountered were very friendly and proactively offered assistance. I really appreciated that - it's small gestures like these that make businesses stand out. If I'm ever in the area again I would definitely consider returning. read more

Chill coffee joint. We had the 12ounce coffee for $2.50. The place was very simple and plain. They have a mix of music playing that is pretty easy on the ears. There are plenty of parking spots outside and they have a drive thru as well. I was driving through the neighborhood and saw the place and they serve La Colombe coffee. Place is good to do some work because there is free WiFi and plenty of work. What I found a little annoying was that the cream was not on the counter. That should be self serve and readily available. I was randomly craving fresh squeezed lemonade and came across this cute little joint on Yelp. The employee working was extremely nice and helpful as I was already having a day with the littles that I watch as I walked in carrying one of them who happened to be barefoot due to a total meltdown just moments prior. He was extremely patient with us and both the littles and I absolutely LOVED the macarons (ordered two of the chocolate). The raspberry lemonade was refreshing and tart (just the way I like it - the less sweetener the better, in my opinion). Place is very cute and very clean on the inside, and I look forward to popping in on a more relaxing day when I don't have small children hanging on my waist. read more

Best coffee I have tried in a while! Coming from someone who has tried just about every type of coffee and coffee shop. The coffee was strong yet smooth, didn't have that burnt taste that some places (like Starbucks) has. Customer service was outstanding and he was so nice and patient. I went through the drive thru so I haven't been inside yet. The banana bread was so good and not overwhelmingly sweet. My mom got the pumpkin spice latte and it was very good. Not filled with artificial syrups and sweeteners. It tastes just like a gingerbread cookie with those types of spices. Definitely going to be my new coffee shop. read more

Coffee is decent because it's la colombe (can't really go wrong) but management left a very bad taste in our mouth. Went there with a few friends, ordered a latte and a few pastries and my friend popped in with a smoothie because she's on a restricted diet for her health. The owner came to us and started chastising her for bringing outside food and drink. When she genuinely apologized and told him she would put it in her car, he continued to berate her. He was visibly upset and refused to let it go, even when she continued to apologize. The rest of the time he was scowling at us, making us feel very uncomfortable. It really is not the way you treat customers, and a really bad example of a leader. Think about what your customers might be going through before you berate them. read more

The worst service and drink that I have had. I asked if they had a lavender latte in which they said yes to. They put essential oils which are not to be consumed in my drink. I then called and complained and the owner laughed at the fact that they put essential oils in my drink and confirmed that they don't serve lavender. Will not go back here again. read more

I've picked up my vanilla latte from here (drive thru) at least once a week for a while now and I have to say it's my favorite stop before starting the day (cuz really, the gas station is surely a close 2nd favorite -insert frozen eye roll emoji). In all seriousness though - the staff here are all very friendly. Is it in the job description that you must have the most soothing voice possible? Because everyone I talk to here needs to read my kids' their bedtime stories. Possibly while handing me another coffee (yes.. I do drink coffee at night. No it does not keep me up). I'm a true caffeine addict, and with that comes admitting that I'm a bit of a coffee snob. When I'm not ordering my (hashtag)basic latte, I drink my coffee black. I like to taste the coffee quality, especially if I'm spending a few extra cents/dollars per cup. I love the light roast so much here (usually I go with a dark). Food-wise I've only tried the banana walnut bread and I love how nutty it is haha It's nothing over-the-top but it went well with my coffee.
