I tried the turkey/bacon/avocado , and honestly, I was a little disappointed. I ordered an entire sandwich, but for $11.49 was just had 1 piece of bacon and two slices of turkey, mostly lots of lettuce. Felt a bit pricey for what you get. On the brighter side, I also tried a breakfast croissant with ham, egg, and cheese. It was very good and hearty. The place itself is super cute, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They offer daily specials, sandwiches, coffee and lattes, salads, fruit, and other drinks. I have ordered various items here over the years - old ownership and current. Some quality issues during the pandemic, but overall, good quality and service. As an office manager, I recommend this place to others and have ordered pickup for business lunch meetings. This time I ordered only a Vanilla Berry Protein Smoothie for $12.99 - with tax and tip it was $16.60, which is pretty steep for simple, regular sized smoothie, even these days. I knew there was some risk it might not be sweet enough with no sweeteners added, but that would be okay. It turned out to have almost NO flavor - like I could taste coconut milk a bit, but the fruit was flavorless and I couldn't even taste/feel the protein powder - it basically had almost no taste. It was really odd. (I thought about just drinking it for the nutrition, but not for $16!) I asked if I could order something else, but the new counter person was not knowledgeable about the other smoothies, so I thought, "I'll try another smoothie another time." He started to issue me a refund, but when he asked a longer-time co-worker for help that, this other person told me, "That is how that smoothie is." We discussed it a little, but he held his ground (basically, like "if you don't like it, tough.") I asked if he was not going to refund me, which he wouldn't answer. Came for an early lunch yesterday and everything was excellent!!! We had the avocado toast with tomato, breakfast burrito with sausage, veggie burrito with tofu and a protein buzz with peanut butter and it was all perfect. The staff is also very friendly....will definitely be back!!! read more

My office building is near here, I'm usually remote but come into the office occasionally. We order lunch here at times! Since it's in the middle of many office buildings, I'm sure they get a lot of lunch orders. Their food is usually good, a vast sandwich/salad menu, so something for everyone. I'm a big fan or the honey mustard chipotle chicken sandwich!! The honey mustard chipotle sauce is delish, the bacon adds a nice salty bite, and I love that it's toasted crispy. I used to order delivery from Cafe 160 back in 2020 and was in the area for a training so I thought to stop by to check it out. I thought I beat a hectic lunch rush while I ordered first, but somehow my order of avocado toast fell through and everyone in the line received their order before me. I do like their breakfast bowls here and the seasoning on the avocado toast is one of my favorite breakfast items. My coffee was ready, but I did have to stand in front of the counter awkwardly to remind them about my food. Once they realized, they made the order very quickly. I ordered two slices of toast, however, to my dismay, one of them was not toasted. It was a bit sad to eat and I ended up having to leave soon right after, so I did not check. Awkward experience here but willing to try it again. We walked in and waited at the counter for the employees to ask us for our order name. (They were in the middle of doing something) but what was annoying was a group of three people showed up behind us and the employees asked for their names while we stood there waiting.. My coworkers usually walk here since it's near by work and also to get a little exercise in as well. You need to have the address in hand to find the business since it's behind a building. Parking is good since it's shared with other businesses around the area. Once you walk inside it is small and the menu is straight forward and the employees are quick to help. I ended up ordering the Chicken Pesto and a tea. I was a little surprised by the price and they did have military discount, so that was a plus. Once I received my sandwich it was small for the price and I understand that it was toasted but I don't like a sandwich that cuts up the roof of my mouth. This review is based off the food- every single thing I've had here is SO good. If you're going for breakfast, I recommend the avocado toast. The bread they use is to die for and they season the avocado perfectly! For lunch I loved the chicken pesto panini and they give you the option to switch the tomatoes for red peppers! Ever since this place changed ownership, the food quality has gone down hill. The café was always a bit pricey but at least the food was good and local. My first experience with the new ownership was with my usual Mediterranean salad. The packaging was small and only half way full. This is was disappointing since I order it once a week and refuse to pay the same price for less food. Next my team ordered lunch. Everyone noticed the bowls were smaller. My sandwich was a complete mess when I unwrapped it. The whole time I struggled to eat it without dropping it all over myself. Great look for a professional lunch. This cafe is amazing. A great menu with a lot of options and really good coffee drinks. It is close to my office so it's a great place to get coffee or lunch. They use local products, which makes the food taste clean and fresh. I have a severe gluten intolerance and have never been sick after eating here. Their gluten free bread is delicious and definitely worth the price. I'm a regular so Fae knows to mark my order as celiac and Terrell always takes precautions to make sure there is no cross contamination. Sadly, I must demote this joint to 2 stars because it truly is a rip off. I usually get the all American breakfast burrito in a bowl with the tilla on the side. Every time it's a different volume of eggs and it's usually on the smaller end. Then there were a few times where the heaping pile of eggs were overwhelming. I like that, but the portion sizes are so random and I often feel screwed over. I don't usually sweat the small stuff but maybe today I was just fed up.... Today was the most ridiculous portion of eggs ive ever had. My coworkers laughed at me when I opened the container. Haha. It literally was the size of one small scrambled egg. I paid $5 for that shit and when I asked if I was missing something the guy behind the counter insisted I just ask for an extra egg, which is probably $3 more. AND they're always out of coffee and never monitor it. The coffee selection has gone wayyyyy down. Don't get me wrong, the coffee is delicious, but people are always waiting around for the next pot to finish brewing. Here's an idea, maybe anticipate the morning rush and set out a few more pots!!! The honor system doesn't ever work because there's no coffee, so you might as well just wait in line and pay at the register. Overall, the common feeling I get when I walk out is the annoyance. This place is just a stupid sales gimmick. It's all over priced and the staff isn't friendly. We all talk about how there is a few workers at the register who seriously are not capable of smiling. I was up early Thursday morning and knew I had a long day ahead of me. I wanted to grab a good breakfast. I was lucky enough to find this place thanks to my fellow Yelpers: Tony C, Jack M, and Allie S. And with 70+ check-ins (from Allie S)... I was confident it was going to be great. Good On Ya Deli is located over in the Kearny Mesa area on Sky Park Court (off of Ruffin Road North). It is tucked away in an industrial park, but it wasn't difficult to find. Fortunately for me they open at 6:30am. I arrived early, a little after 7:00am, so there was plenty of parking. I observed a sign outside the door of the deli that says they use organic produce, use natural meats, and cheeses among other things. Minimally processed, non-GMO, healthier... all good things in my book. I also think it's great that they support local vendors by purchasing: tortillas, bread, coffee, and other items from them. The first thing I noticed upon entering was their coffee bar area and a sign indicating that they buy coffee from Cafe Moto. I went to Cafe Moto recently and it's great! So far this place is making a great impression. I was greeted by an employee almost immediately upon entering. I walked up to the ordering area and picked up a menu. After perusing the menu for a minute I decided to go with "Bob's B.O.A.T.S." and the Good On Ya Hydrate Lemons drink. I sipped on my drink as I waited for my sandwich. It was so refreshingly delicious with great lemony flavor. Not only that, but It's organic, doesn't have artificial flavoring, and it is only 10 calories to boot! Back to the sandwich... Bob's BOATS consists of: Bacon, Onion, Avocado, Tomato, Spinach, with Greek dressing served on half a ciabatta roll. I'm not sure how they decided on that combination of ingredients, but it was savory. It tasted very fresh and the ciabatta roll was toasted perfectly. I finished the sandwich, but since it was only a half I still felt a little hungry. Thanks to Tony C.'s review... I decided to order a "#5 Turkey, provolone, sundried tomatoes, cranberry sauce, lettuce, tomato, red onions". They even threw in a pickle with the sandwich. Like Bob's BOATS, this sandwich was a nice blend of ingredients; it tasted so fresh and delicious. I ate one half and saved the other half for later. The staff is friendly and they provide great customer service here. I noticed as I was eating breakfast inside the deli that customers were being greeted by first name as they walked up to order, pay, or grab a cup for coffee. Overall, this place is a nice hidden gem. Great food and service... I can see myself becoming a regular here. I plan on returning to try other sandwiches and would also like to try the acai and pitaya bowls. read more

What a surprise! I rarely frequent the Kearny Mesa area, but had to go to some training at the National University and after that was lunch time and hungry hit and did not know where to go. Of course, checked on Yelp and saw this GoodOnYa deli. Found the name appealing (names of business are important!), so went there as it was not far from me. It was nice to discover this apparently hole in the wall. In fact, inside is very cute and bigger than looks from the outside, and even though the kitchen is visible, there was no bad smell of food whatsoever. I ordered a ham and cheese grilled sandwich and was pretty good. The cappuccino was excellent and I had a good time as I called a friend that works at a company nearby, and we enjoyed good quality moments seating at the big table that in fact is a repurposed door! My first time after working over a year across the street! The order online system was very simple. I placed my order in less than five minutes. Very helpful when you have a 30 minute break (and you know what you feel loke eating). My Spicy Thai Chicken Salad was pretty good too. Great size! I think I only saw one large table inside with a couple of tables outside. They also have Visitor parking considering the cafe is located within a company's building. Great little gem of a place near work. I would say, skip the salads and stick with the sandwiches. Perhaps I'm still a little bitter that about a year ago, my work ordered lunch to be delivered and they forgot the salad dressing for all the salads!
