Food here is always great as is the service. It's a great setting to take my son for an early dinner before practice and a good setting to knock out some homework while we eat. HORRIBLE service ..... If I could give a 0 on rating I would. My wife submitted an order from zuppas via door dash at 10:58 am with an eta of 11:29. Dasher waited and waited and waited finally they let her know the didn't have the chicken soup we wanted due to being sick. So we had to then pick a different soup. 12p Dasher finally was given our food to deliver by 1230pm. Each experience we have had 3 times now has been horrible. Wow! Total service failure. I got a large lobster bisque which was not hot. I asked if they had a way to heat the soup, but they just served me a second bowl at the same temperature. I brought the second soup to the counter to get a refund: one employee was eating a salad at the register, another sipping her drink. They asked another employee to "test" the soup, which involved her tasting the soup, which her assessment was a shrug and "it's fine", not an actual test of the soup temperature. There was also no concern that the soup may not be at a safe temperature to serve. She said she would refund the soup, but not my drink. Why would I have a drink if I didn't have anything to eat? She begrudgingly agreed to refund the drink, but made a point to let me know "we don't normally do this." All I wanted was hot soup and all I got was an attitude. read more

Amazing spot for a fresh dining experience!! We are Ca natives so Panera would be the closest equivalent BUT Café Zupas far exceeds the quality & taste! We ordered 3 of the combos (choice of 1/2 sandwich, salad or soup) all were fantastic. The sammy's were yummy & toasty. The soups seemed homemade vs pre-packaged. And you are treated with a little chocolate covered strawberry for dessert!! Service was informative (since this was our initial visit we had questions re: the ordering process) The dining area is a little sterile however it bodes well for a clean feeling. It could have a bit more homey feeling to the dining area altho that doesn't detract from the quality & freshness of the food I recommend this café to anyone looking for a quick fresh delish healthy option read more

Cafe Zupas is located in the Desert Ridge Marketplace. Service was great today. I asked about the ingredients in two different power bowls. Staff were well versed in both bowls. After the descriptions, I decided on the Southwest power bowl to go. The bowl was made quickly and without incident. The bowl includes. Mixed greens, corn, olives, avocado, chicken chunks, tomatoes, pepitas, black beans, rice and goat cheese. The trademark comp chocolate covered strawberry accompanied my order and off I went. I had a portion of the bowl for lunch. It was fresh and delicious. I liked all the combinations of ingredients. I would definitely order it again. Shared parking lot. read more

Since moving to AZ, I can honestly say I love Cafe Zupas and would have Cafe Zupas over Panera Bread or Boudin ANY DAY. The setup is quite similar to how you would order at Subway. You order your soup/salad/sandwich and you get strawberries for dessert and a side of bread! The portions are quite big and do find myself sharing a meal with whoever I'm going with most of the time LOL. I've tried most of their soups but mushroom bisque & lobster bisque are my go-to's! In terms of salad, I love their mango berry or the all berry-flavored one! If I'm feeling guilty, I go for the brisket grilled cheese but their Mediterranean chicken is a good, light and flavorful option! And if you're feeling more guilty... their Dubai Chocolate Strawberries is a must!!!! read more

Disappointed with whole experience today. I got the chicken enchilada soup which was largely just broth and it was barely warm. I ordered a small fountain drink and when I came around the corner I saw that they didn't have the normal refresher drinks or Italian sodas and I don't really drink the soda from machines. Several disgruntled customers in waiting area that had been waiting for their orders. Plus dining area was a mess. I loved this place but will have to pass from now on. What happened to this place? It's always messy, they run out of food hours before closing, and the topper was tonight we ordered the Lobster Bisque soup- everyone at our table said it was too salty. (We've been coming here for over 10 years!). I traded it out for the cauliflower soup, and it too was too salty. I've been coming to this chain for years and I genuinely like the food, which makes this more annoying than anything. I also haven't changed the way I order, I've been getting essentially the same things for years without issues. Lately, at this location, every time I try to make even minor adjustments to my order (and I'm completely fine paying extra), it turns into an unnecessary debate at the counter. Instead of helping or clarifying, it feels like I'm being argued with over small, reasonable requests. What's more frustrating is that during one of these situations, the manager was standing off to the side doing nothing to help while the conversation went in circles, until the poor new employee finally had to ask for assistance. That shouldn't be how customer issues or misunderstandings get resolved. The food is good. The experience lately has not been. read more

We ordered on door dash and when we called to tell them what happened they essentially said we're all human and make mistakes. I got on Yelp to see other reviews and this is far from the first time they forgot chicken and other ingredients in their PROTEIN bowls. What are the usual items that we get all the time five minutes later sorry we're out of Turkey. The turkey is frozen? OK how about chicken when you're out of chicken. we have ham. The family is not a huge fan of ham. But we went with it. So about 20 minutes later, the food's ready. Try to check out and the credit card machine reset every time I use the credit card. When we think of ordering office lunch for a meeting. Cafe zupas is on everyone's mind. I went with their 2 combo of either soup, salad or sandwich. I picked mushroom bisque soup and a spicy chicken sandwich with a slice of avocado. We got a choice of bread and I picked wheat artisan. The main drawback is that food was ordered online and it took forever. Their service is super slow, so be ready to wait a good hour or more if it's a bulk order. The food arrived and we just barged into it. The soup is delicious and tasted fantastic. It's on the heavy side. I had the chicken which was equally tasty. By end of the meal I was super full. It came with a chocolate dipped strawberry and bread, which I thought is a nice add on. The whole thing costed about $16 which I thought was a good deal for a heavy lunch. Hope they improve on their timing and serve some delicious food quicker. read more

Zero stars. Started when we arrived, we needed a clean table and there were none. Got a worker to clean one for us. Since we had small kids we asked for a menu and were told they only have them online. A young girl behind the counter, short with dark hair, tattoos on her arms made a snide remark. After order was placed we were told there were no chips and no fountain drinks. The food was definitely not up to Zupas standards. I didn't mind waiting a few minutes but more people kept coming in for their take out orders and they all got theirs before I did. Had to wait almost 30 minutes to get my order and then when I got home I realized there was no chicken in my salad and I didn't receive the extra roll I purchased. Worst experience ever. read more

Their soups are super disappointing. I've ordered a variety of them and they are all so watery. A lobster bisque should not be brothy and watery. A southwestern potato soup shouldn't be a broth with no potatoes or chiles. The mushroom bisque is a bland watery, broth. There's no way these are "scratch made." It's like a condensed soup with too many gallons of water added. I love soup and am always looking for a place to go, but Cafe Zupas isn't it. read more

First time trying this place and it was just awful. We went on a Friday night around 7:30 and the restaurant was a disaster. It was dirty and all the tables were gross and not cleaned. We waited in line for a bit with no one in front of us, looked like they were trying to clean the back. The food was not fresh. We returned our soups cause they were cold and had zero flavor. My sandwich had nothing on it but a piece of ham and two little pickles. The only reason why I'm giving two stars is because the assistant manager (didn't catch his name but he had brown curly hair and was very funny and nice to us) was very professional and kind to us. Terrible. Waited over 20 mins for a to go order. If you are in a rush or have kids don't do it. Also, restaurant is not the cleanest.

The food is good and the staff are friendly. I am however disappointed by how dirty the restaurant appears overall. We were there at 3pm on a Thursday and there were very few patrons. There were 5 staff members standing around, one fiddling with balloons yet the dining room tables were dirty, dirty dishes piling up. The drink area was a mess, there is food and sauce splatters on the walls beside the two top tables, front glass door with hand marks all over it. If this area is this dirty, how clean is the prep and serving area?? If the staff has time to stand and chat, I would suggest picking up a cleaning towel a few times a shift and wiping things down. I have worked in restaurants so I know there's time mid shift to wipe areas down. It will be awhile before I return. read more

The terrible part- the quality/ value of the food. The soups were flavorful but very salty & expensive. The sandwiches (see photos) looked NOTHING like the menu pictures, they were tiny & compressed, kinda like a panini but more like they were sat on, just mushed!
