We ended up coming here for my dad's birthday after a long day at Versailles and the Matthieu our server was so hospitable and nice. He also spoke English very well so I asked where he learned to speak English and turns out he lived in Florida and Hawaii for many years before returning to Paris. The bar area was upbeat and lively. The steak frites was not necessarily the best quality steak I've had, but for the price was pretty flavorful and delicious. A great restaurant with the best beef bourgignon we had in Paris. We came here twice in one week just to have it. We liked the shrimp tempura appetizer. The truffle fries were a bit off though. Mozzarella sticks were standard. On a nice night, we sat outside and enjoyed watching people pass. Our waiter was a young American man, born in France, and he was very attentive. This spot was great! We found it while walking towards the Eiffel Tower past Rue Cler street, and decided to stop by for a late lunch / early dinner. It was a bit of an odd time to eat at 4pm so we got seated immediately. Service was super friendly throughout our experience, which was greatly appreciated since we were still pretty unfamiliar with the customs here. They even set up your dining utensils right in front of you which was a nice thing to see. We got the truffle pasta and beef bourguignon, both of which were great! The pasta was really flavorful and heavy, but great for people who love creamy cheesy sauces. I'm typically not a big fan of cheese so it was a bit much, but I still thought the flavor was great. The beef bourguignon on the other hand, was fantastic. Served super fast with two giant chunks of beef alongside some mashed potatoes, soaked in jus. The beef was so tender and well cooked, and the potatoes were also nice and creamy. Both soaked up the jus so well. This was such a satisfying meal and a great start to our trip in Paris! I used to come to Paris a lot with work, was heading to a couple restaurants I know. Solo (not a vacation) and had passed a few places just didn't look right to dine alone. Stopped around the corner for a little shopping, had seen Le Roussilon, and did a quick Yelp search. It seemed better than a couple cafes I was standing next to, walked back, SO glad I did. I had the "butcher's selection" steak after discussion of options, bartender went back to talk to chef for me about the 3 entrees i was debating, nice touch. I did have a very nice waitress but since solo grabbed a 2 top behind a pillar by the window so I could people watch. Bartender spoke English well so why I chatted with him, just easier and waitress was busy. She took care of me as well, just such a nice vibe in a small brassiere, very relaxed. Sirloin was outstanding, cooked perfectly, nice pepper sauce, portion European perfect. (Not a fan of American restaurants oversized serving). A very nice wine by the glass, 1/2 carafe or carafe, half a dozen selections. This is the perfect spot for a casual, but very good meal. Very reasonable prices. I absolutely loved this spot. We sat at the bar and got a few beers, and decided to have dinner here after seeing some other people's food come out. Great choice, as all the food was wonderful. We started with a half dozen escargot, which were done well but not the best I've had. We also got the bone marrow, which was some of the better marrow I've eaten. Third starter was their gazpacho, which I loved but K did not. Not a fan of cold soup, is K, but she tried it at least. For entrees we split their amazing (!!) Caesar salad, which has to rank in the top 2-3 I've ever eaten, seriously. We also tried ordering the roasted chicken, but ended up with this beef stew that they claim is "Gramma's recipe". Best mistake ever. It was incredible - we mauled it like ravenous starving people. Highly recommended! I know you're not supposed to leave large tips in Paris, but our service and meal was extraordinary! We got some of our food to go and were provided quality packaging to do so. This place is on-point and certainly worth the visit when in Paris. We were stayed in Hotel Thoumieux in the 6th Arrond./ Rue St. Dominique and looking for a quality restaurant within walking distance. Found it! There was a football game, so it was pretty loud and crazy, but the area right off the bar creates a separate area. Our waiter was very attentive and provided various courses in timely manner. -1st time trying escargots....delicious! It's like eating mussels or oysters without the fishy smell. Came here on a rainy day in between the lunch and dinner hour to grab a drink. My BF and I had a couple glasses of wine and my BF's sister requested lemonade. Our wines were great, but what my BF's sister received was the following: glass with ice, small pitcher with water, a tall glass with freshly squeezed lemon juice in it. It sounds like a fun concept, however it definitely takes a while to master the correct balance. The ambiance was very cute and the service was OK. Originally we came to this establishment due to its proximity to our Hotel adjacent to Rue Cler. I am very glad that we did! This place was great. Everything from to food to the atmosphere. Pros: great food, affordable, English speaking, friendly service, and great drinks. Cons: slow food service (buy it is worth it) This is a great place for young people to the more mature. I don't think it really s pace for kids but i did see a few there. This was the best place that we went to during our honeymoon. He was patient, let me ask questions for the family, and even attempted to speak to them directly in broken English. This place was fine, but not a lot of vegetarian options. My husband had the ravioli and it was quite a small portion in a lot of cream sauce. I had the vegetarian lasagna and it was okay. It was cheese and some caramelized onions, which was a bit weird, but it did come in a cute cast iron dish. We ordered pasta of the day which was the most decent dish that we ordered but was average. A seafood plate that tasted like it was pre-packaged frozen calamari and croquettes with some smoked packaged salmon, and the salad with Camembert cheese and ham which was honestly uneatable . My friend recommended this place, as she comes here on a regular basis. They do have good happy hour prices, and yummy cocktails. My girlfriends and I came one evening for their "raclette," and to be honest it wasn't worth it. The idea was neat, to serve it in an appetizer portion, but it barely resembled the true raclette experience. The cheese was served in a clay pot that didn't keep it warm long enough to keep it soft, so we found ourselves shoveling cheese into our mouths as quickly as we could to keep it from getting cold and hard. The charcuterie selection was okay, though I've certainly had better. I did, however, enjoy the ambiance (perfect for post-work drinks with friends) and would return just for that. read more
