Love this place! FYI It sits between Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. It sits on a great corner for people watching. The staff were so nice and engaging when we walked by we decided to take a seat and grab dinner. Amazing staff, beautiful and cozy ambiance, and an array of delicious food. Café Belloy is our savior. We had just finished a nightime Seine River Cruise and ended up having late dinner. Thank goodness they're open late because most of the restaurant in the area were already closed. We got seated immediately when we arrived. The place is super cozy, dim lighting and candle light setting provides romantic vibe. Our French was very limited, but our server knew enough english to understand us, which made ordering easy. We ordered pallard chicken, truffle pizza and French onion soup. Everything was delicious, including French Onion soup. Red Wine and Margarita that we got with our meal were spot on. We were warmly welcomed for dinner. Luigi was our waiter, and although he did not speak English well he tried his better and gave us excellent service. I started with the onion soup. DELICIOUS! Amazing! We were there on the earlier side for dinner and had a great experience! We wanted something close to the Trocadéro and Eiffel Tower that wasn't touristy. The hotel receptionist recommended this restaurant because it was a local favorite of hers. The waiter made great recommendations and couldn't have been nicer! I enjoyed the Pizza Margherita. Chewy dough and good amount of cheese. The Caesar and nicoise tuna salads were ok. This has a very tourist vibe but definitely a large number of locals as well. Lunch crowd makes it busy but the staff seem very welcoming. They might forget to bring your drink or cook your steak however they want. Good for kids. read more

Fun and seems like a local place. We had the duck and the chopped beef with egg (it was a hamburger patty no bun) and it was good. The service was great, we were not in a rush but our waiter still was prompt with getting our order and serving the bill. They have English menus which was super helpful. I saw the outrage review that (to me) suggests a cultural issue, the French definitely do not have a tradition of taking plates you don't like, off the bill. That said, this not a tourist trap, merely a haven for smart tourists, because the Champs is filled with places that are over-priced for tourists, where as this particular corner has no less than three excellent cafes all with reasonable prices and excellent food. Belloy is no exception. BTW the French slaughter their meat differently than American butchers do, and they also don't "marble" it, so meat is very different here, and translations of the various cuts are iffy at best. That's before you try translating the instructions for done-ness. This cafe is a brasserie with tasty food and very reasonable prices, as well as excellent service. You could eat strictly on Avenue Kleber at this corner plus L'Étoile Venitienne down the street (if you like French cafe food) and be very happy. Of this group of excellent cafes, Belloy is probably the best of them. read more

If I could give 0 stars to this restaurant, I would except our waiter was wonderful. The food was below average and the manager is abysmal. I ordered a fillet steak with fries. The fries were served cold and limp. The steak was THE WORST steak I've ever had at a restaurant. I kindly let the waiter know that I did not want the steak. He then kindly asked if I'd like to order something else and appropriately took the food from the table. Minutes later the manager comes to out and begins yelling at me that I don't know what good steak is, and I will be charged for the meal regardless. WOW! I understand French cultural norms. We stayed in Paris for 9 days.. we had 5 meals at Cafe Belloy. The customer service was the best we experienced in Europe easily. Genuinely nice people who offered great service. Its a chill spot where you can sit for as long as you want eating and drinking the time away.. the grilled lobster and duck were two of the best things I ate. My sister had the minced steak with egg and it had absolutely no flavor. My mother had fish and chips and it was crispy but no taste. The fries tasted like bougie McDonalds fries not worth the cost. This place has amazing onion soup. The cheese, broth, onions, and bread were all perfect, and we used extra rolls of bread (that were generously provided all throughout our meal) to soak up the extra broth. 3 of us got the caesar salad and we enjoyed it. One of us got the Paillard chicken with mashed potatoes and that was a hit as well - particularly the potatoes and the sauce on the chicken. Several of us also enjoyed our desserts. Most of us had a strawberry tart. Nothing outstanding, but very light and enjoyable for a post-savory feast. Our waitress was very kind and attentive.
