Googled and accidentally came across Cafe Mam. Love that it's roast to order and bought some for self and done for a friend who loves coffee. We all truly enjoyed our beans that we received. I haven't been in person to the shop but I've ordered beans online. I have been looking for a local roaster who can make a good, dark roast to use in my espresso machine, and someone on Facebook randomly suggested Cafe Mam. I am soooo happy! I ordered the Italian roast, the tango blend, and the royal espresso blend. The coffee was roasted fresh and got to me super fast. It was about $40 for two pounds of beans, some blueberry preserves, and a coffee bean sack (had to do it, it was only $2). The beans smell amazing, are so fresh, and make a fantastic americano. My hands down favorite coffee in Eugene, and there are plenty of contenders too. Roasted here in town, I know my coffee is as fresh as it can be. But I really am happy that it is fair trade and grown by a coop and most important organic. The highest concentration of pesticides occurs in coffee and I NEVER drink non organic. NEVER. Neither should you.... The farmers who grow the beans work together and create community in their operations and are healthier and wealthier in the process. I LOVE coffee and for me this is my top choice. I have been buying organic coffee for years both at "that" major natural foods retailer and online and this has been the most flavorful and rich coffee I have found. Aside from that it is hard to find a coffee that is both organic AND fair trade AND shade grown. They are often one or the other. The price is fair and all is good when my lips savor that first sip every morning. Thank you Cafe Mam for all that you do! The only beef is that the shipping is a bit high. I wish I could find it locally but I'm sure the cost to get it to LA or the mark up from a second retailer would affect the price. All in all I'm happy to support Cafe Mam and have the benefit of drinking excellent coffee. A winning combination. read more

A brief story as to why I give this 5 stars: Several years ago, we were visited by someone who happened to be promoting Cafe Mam and had some product sample. I was recovering from caffeine hypersensitivity, but tried a bit of French Roast in part because it was low in caffeine, but also because I favor the fair-trade approach. It was very good, but I could not fully indulge because of my sensitivity. Over two years later I rediscovered the can in the refrigerator and my sensitivity had gone down to the point where I can drink at least 4 cups a week with no problems. Several years is WAY past the storage limit of gourmet quality coffee even in the refrigerator. I am also a real critic and something of a foodie. Damn! it was still good -- so good that I'd instantly rate it better than almost any coffee I can get at any establishment in Santa Fe(NM) -- save for one. Think about it, if coffee that far past its shelf life in an already opened can is THAT good, there is no doubt that this stuff is worth the money. I am happy that I can begin to sample some of the other flavors, but I plan to use all of that French Roast can first. (p.s. I filter brew it). It helps that our water is from a really clean well source -- but it tests close to the typical tap water in most of Santa Fe and except for one restaurant (Jambo) I have never tasted a cup that good anywhere in Santa Fe. Maybe I can get the local coop to carry it, but if not I will happily order it and pay the shipping. It reminds me how good coffee can be. Life is short... indulge! read more

So sad to have to give this company one star after some terrible, VERY disappointing customer service. We have loved this coffee in every way for about 10 years, ordering on a regular basis, coordinating co-op buys for our school and neighborhood communities, spreading the word to friends and family all over the country, who also now order. We have one friend who owns a cafe and serves Cafe Mam. The tell us that our introducing them to Cafe Mam "changed their lives". We are directly responsible for probably thousands of $$ infused into their business. After they made a mistake fulfilling our order, we notified them, asking how we could fairly resolve this. They never got back to me, necessitating MY following up. I was told, in no uncertain terms, that their logs are 100% accurate ALL the time and there was no way that they made a mistake. We know differently. Very sad to have to let all our friends and family know and find another vendor. read more

I've had the best experience with Cafe' Mam! They offer high quality coffee (hands down the best I've ever had) that is both locally roasted and organic. I just recently bought a business and had so many questions concerning coffee and the mechanics of the espresso machine that I now owned. The owner himself took the time to answer any and all of the questions I had as well as fixing my espresso machine! He never complained or laughed at my silly/simple questions (which I asked hundreds of them) and always got back to me in a timely manner- right away, really. Needless to say, not only is the coffee incredible but the customer service is impeccable as well. I would definitely recommend this business to anyone and everyone! read more
