It really doesn't get better than this. The hot buffet had an amazing selection of dishes from the traditional rice, beans, fried yucca with a lot of surprises like their fried pork, and even chicken Marsala. Then there were the wonderful cold potato salad and chicken salads and of course the bbq churasco meats, which were unbelievable. First timer here. I was helped through the process. Would you like the all you can eat buffet for $19.90 or the by the pound option. Since I don't have a big appetite I choose the 1lb option for $11.90. The serving stations were well cared for. Everything was neat and clean. Hot food was hot, salad bar was chilled. Quiet ambiance at lunch. Lots of large screens showing sports or music videos. FYI: I couldn't finish my 1lb. I'm very disappointed to say, stay away! I usually believe in giving restaurants a second chance, but I can't this time. I visited Cafe Belo alone around 4:30pm in December, after work, knowing I had another event later and needed to eat beforehand. Despite being the first customer, the restaurant said it was open and that the churrasco buffet wouldn't start until 5pm. I understood and decided to order from the menu instead of the buffet, since it was still closed and I couldn't wait another 30 minutes. I ordered right away, and while waiting, more people arrived. The venue is quite beautiful and spacious, with no complaints there. After 25 minutes, I asked the server about my meal; she explained everything is made from scratch, which took some time. Meanwhile, the buffet opened and the churrasco service began, making me feel foolish for ordering from the menu to be quick. By then, others who arrived at least 30 minutes later were already eating. After 40 minutes, I checked again with the waiter, hesitant to complain, but my food finally arrived. Disappointingly, it wasn't good--the meat was tough and cold, despite being made from "scratch". I had only a few bites before leaving, as I was late for my next appointment. No staff attended to me, so I went to the front desk to settle the bill. I noticed an 18% charge labeled 'VIP!'. They not only delayed serving me but didn't check on me or bring the bill to my table. When I asked, they said the VIP charge was "standard'. If you want authentic Brazilian food, take a longer drive on Route 9 to find a better place. read more

I walked in on a Sunday late evening with a small party. First time being there, we had a hostess explaining to us about options. It was a slow night, very spacious, service was friendly, but abit lacking in the service area and somewhat a language barrier unless necessary the hostess is brought over to explain on behalf. Go for their buffet Brazilian food (which was delicious), but stay away from sushi and fruits because they were not fresh. In general, they had limited quantity on certain buffet items when we started. I give them a 3.5-star because the hostess failed to mention in the beginning that the gratuity fee of 18% is already added to the bill. She was asked to clarify whether she mentioned it to us before we proceeded to dine and she implored that towards the end of meal the customers can find out. If we didn't noticed it as we paid with a card, the server could have almost got double tips from us. So, pay attention on your bill because it sounds like regardless of the size of the party it includes tip service. Also, on Sunday nights they don't serve BBQ according to the hostess. read more

Café Belô had their soft opening on Friday, which is a Brazilian bar and restaurant located off Routes 9 and 126 in Framingham, in the former Beacon Street Bar & Grill/Angry Hams Garage Bar & Grill. The place offers Brazilian food including a bar menu with appetizers and drinks and a steakhouse buffet offering a good variety hot dishes, soups, and cold appetizers & salads & fresh fruits which is $11.99/lb or rodizio $34.99 pp, all you can eat with carved meats served tableside. I stopped in at Café Belô for dinner recently. I was seated at a table in the bar section and they gave me the bar menu. However, there was a language barrier between the servers and me trying to explain that I was here for the steakhouse food, not the appetizers. The manager finally came over and told me about the rodizio which is what I decided on. The buffet spread was pretty impressive over three stations with good variety of Brazilian food including soups, hot dishes including fish & meat entrees, pastas, potatoes, rice, vegetables, homemade salads, buffalo mozzarella & tomato, garnishes, fresh fruits. I filled up a big plate of buffet food and headed back to my table. The servers came around promptly offering several kinds of carved meats including sausage, chicken wings, bacon wrapped chicken, sirloin steak, chicken heart, and ribs. The carved meats were salty tasting and the buffet foods including the gnocchi Bolognese, short ribs mashed potatoes, cod, black beans, eggplant, fried yucca, plantains, seasoned rice, penne with oil & garlic, Caesar salad, Brazilian potato salad, and many more items were all very good. I did go back to the buffet for seconds, and despite my second full plate and cups of soups, the servers came around again offering more carved meats. I did get a good cut of juicy medium rare steak, but I had to tell a couple servers I was all set and full. My initial server returned and ask if I wanted anything else and I was all set. The check with tax and before tip was $37.44, a pretty fair price for a lot of meats and lots of other foods. They also have live music here on the weekends usually after 8pm. I would return here again for rodizio, but I would make sure to bring an appetite and don't eat beforehand. read more

This was the worst place I have ever been to.the food was horrible and cold,it was 78 dollars for the reservation for a place that had no people.the staff was full of people and yet it was a long time for the drinks to come in waited 10 minutes for a water and don't get me started on the music at first it was ok and when someone got up the mic made the worst sound ever.the music got so loud and couldn't understand my friends when they said something.the sushi bar had NOTTING the drink were over priced it was 7 dollars for a Red Bull and they go for a 2 dollars somewhere else.this it the worst place and the place just didn't have the special feeling of going in to a restaurant and asking for food,the menu has to be the worst thing ever not even food there was 7 options for food and the rest of the 5 pages of booze. Terrible, terrible. They never brought my drink. My wife's mimosa was flat. When we tried to get the servers' attention, they all ignored us. No meat service because of "short staffed." Stopped by Framingham's newest Brazilian BBQ this past Presidents' Day to check things out and I'm left wanting for improvements. Nestled at a price point of about $12/lb it's not too expensive relative to existing places especially since it's brand new. That said, it looks like they're trying to go somewhere between a home style authentic bbq vs an elevated experience at a Fogo de chao, aiming for maybe a hip vibe. This is one of those places that seems more about the drinks than about the food As other reviewers have mentioned, there is maybe only one staff willing to communicate in English so here's the guide from me 1. They give you a menu with no prices. I don't know what to do with this menu. 2. After waiting 15 min the sole English speaking staff finally stopped by, gave some water and instructions. I was verbally instructed that I could just grab a plate fill it up and get it weighed and pay by the pound. 3. There's a little nook/opening where the roasting is happening. There's no menu here. Point or ask about what's there or study a Brazilian bbq menu before hand lol. Read on for some suggestions 4. Weigh your plate near the meat station with the staff there That's about it. Not too hard to do but perhaps confusing especially when you get seated but then have to wait 15+ min for help and instructions. In terms of food quality, I think it was ok. Picanha was a bit dry on the outside. Chicken hearts were decent. Pork sausage was good. Not too salty.That's all I tried for meats this round. I only got one plate of food, the rest of it coming from their self service salad bar setup. Avoid the meatballs. You might be wondering why did I even try them. Well I was wondering why did they even serve it so I had to try it of course. Dry, tough, and worst of all, cold. Maybe it came right out of a Roche brothers take home meatball platter. Just kidding, the meatballs would've been better that way. Typical other sides, variety of rice preparations, beans, cold salad/veggies. Fried fish was a bit dry and under seasoned. Nothing remarkable. Their cheese bread, pao de queijo was ok. Some cheese to it but not great. Their potato salad was a bit different to what I'm used to and not in a good or bad way. Just different. There's an area off to the side with fries and various yucca preparations. Unfortunately all cold or room temp. And stale. I mean if the meatballs, in sauce were tough and stale, I guess I wasn't surprised to see the other stuff stale too. They do a nice job of presenting the food and keeping the areas clean but it's not somewhere I'd go out of my way to eat at. Worth a try. Even though there was very little English speaking staff that day, people did seem nice and it was just alright. I don't know what the rodizio experience is like or even the price of it but as usual I recommend go check out the food first before you splurge for an all you can eat. I think they can do better with some changes here and there but in its current state not worth revisiting for me. read more

I won't comment on the food as i didn't make it to the food. I left after 15 minutes. I love to try new local places in Framingham. All my experiences with Brasilian, Colombian, Indian, Chinese, Italian, and so many other places have been great in terms of welcoming environment until my recent experience at this place. No one spoke English. No one attempted to explain how food works on a Sunday. When we asked for a menu, the waitress was annoyed, brought 1 (we were more people than 1) and basically threw it on the table and left. We didn't see anyone else for 10 minutes. No one was cordial, or eager to service us as non-brasilians. The noise level was awful. We got up and left. While i understand this is a brasilian place in which majority of people are brasilians, the lack of service and hospitality was so below that it was hard to believe. Other Brasilian, Colombian places, like the bakery in Saxonville or downtown Framingham, are ready to service anyone who comes to their doors. read more

Place was near empty on a Wed night at 7 pm. Went to bar. It took a few minutes for the two bar maids to attend to me and I was the only one there. The food selection is limited and the prices above average. The beer was served in an ice cold glass which was good. The chicken tenders were tough, maybe overcooked. The menu needs a major redo with one page for food and five pages for booze. The ambience is excellent with it being obvious a lot of capitol was invested but this place is in need of a bar rescue especially as the two restaurants across the street were packed! We enjoyed the food! Great flavor. Just a touch too salty on some items. Prices were super reasonable. I wish the tables were farther apart so we could be more comfortable and have more room. We came with a stroller and were put right next to the buffet with no room to put the stroller even though there were tables that could've better accommodated us. We went to Cafe Belo on a Sunday afternoon and found it totally packed, though the hostess found us a table right away. The decor has been dramatically improved from the previous restaurant so the new owners clearly invested a lot. The music was quite loud but I'd say it was a very festive atmosphere. Our waitress arrived and immediate started speaking in Portuguese - we told her we spoke English and Spanish but she gave us a somewhat disappointing look. She asked if we were first-timers and we said yes. Then she left us with a single menu - we saw immediately that it was only in Portuguese. Neither of us eat meat so we had looked at the menu online the day before to see what choices there would be - seeing that there were dishes with shrimp, we decided to give it a try. The menu had just a few food items, with no sign of any dishes with shrimp or anything but meat. Most of the multipage menu consisted of alcoholic drinks from the bar. At that point we figured that the restaurant must offer a limited menu on Sundays - over near the kitchen we could see done sort of line where people were being served meat servings on plates from the kitchen. We hadn't seen our waitress for some time so we departed. We may try Cafe Belo again sometime to see if our Sunday experience was a fluke. Obviously I can't review the food, which I'm sure is fine, but given the relatively surly treatment we got I'm posting the review with two stars. read more
