We had a great experience at 7 South last night! They had a fairly large private party going on in one part of the restaurant but aside from that it was relatively quiet. Even though it was a Tuesday we were surprised that it wasn't busier than it was! They've done such a nice job with the interior - all different types of seating, great bar area and even long pub style tables which people can sit at or stand around. For some reason, I feel as though this spot may have fallen under the radar a little bit? This place honestly has such amazing potential to be a go-to spot in Natick. It could be such a great spot to meet up with friends, family, or even go to on a date! It's clean and spacious yet also feels cozy and intimate. In my opinion, they just need to get more people in there to really get the vibes going! We sat at the bar and the bartender, Mike, was wonderful. He was attentive and friendly but also not overbearing. We ordered the sticky wings (yum!!), the giant warm pretzel (yum, yum!), and the street taco flat bread. The wings were so yummy. The warm pretzel was the perfect cold weather appetizer and really delicious - my only feedback is that I wish there was some way to keep the pretzel warm longer so that you don't feel as though you have to rush to eat it. The flatbread had great flavors! It maybe could have been cooked a little bit longer just to give it a little more crisp (personal preference) but we still ate the whole thing. I really hope more people check this place out and start going because I want it to stay and be successful! Peter Giannacopoulos, opened Dolphin Seafood in Cambridge in 1975. A Greek immigrant, he spent his mornings at the piers in Boston, hand picking the fish he would serve. Our office was a cross the street ... convenient for lunch and dinner. What a great alternative to Legal...far away, MORE expensive and not as creative. He set a standard for mid-sized restaurants hard to reach...a pioneer. Serve fresh at a reasonable price and they will follow you. We all did which sustained Dolphin until the Cambridge landlords got greedy and shut the door in their face, moved and never looked back. Cambridge loss-Natick gain. Over the years the younger family has lost track of the original notion. Upon our many visits since we have come to find a mixed media, bland, upscale burger bar with a confused mission ... perhaps 7 South is a tribute to your father ... who won't know what you're up to! Went for dinner with my friend and found out before 6 o'clock it was half priced appetizers! We tried the pretzel, whipped ricotta and fried feta. The whipped ricotta was delicious- especially with the blueberry. The bread it came with was also great. The pretzel was good as well. The fried feta was ok. read more

My wife and I recently dimmed at this restaurant we found the host pleasant our server was excellent and we went on a Thursday night which is $10 burger night. They only have one burger, but I would say the $10 is worth it. I would definitely recommend people give it a try. read more

Amazing creative menu! Trendy atmosphere. Did I mention the great menu options? We started with the Fried Feta with drizzled honey and chili pepper. It has complex flavors that were perfectly balanced! This is not a dish you will find anywhere else. I ordered the daily special, lobster BLT. The lobster salad was delicious. The bacon was super great quality: thick cut, and savory. The fries were good. They were a little greasy while also crispy. Different fries would be the only way to improve. Went here for dinner last night at 7ish it was super busy! Our server was great, very attentive even though she was tending to many other tables - she was great! The korean wings...SOOOO good! Best Korean wings i've had in a very very long time. I will be back for these! The buffalo chicken sandwich was okay, very dry and kind of boring. Same with the burger - it was okay. It needed some type of burger sauce - that would have made it much better. The restaurant itself is absolutely adorable! 7 South is industrial with high ceilings, a long bar with one TV and plenty of booth seating. There are also high tops and regular tables. The food was pretty good. The sticky wings and the gigantic pretzel were pretty darn tasty. The lobster salad BLT was not overly mayonnaised which I appreciated. Decent service. The servers were friendly and attentive. 3.5 - 4 stars. It was our first time dining at 7 South and it was a mixed experience. Our server was Katie and she was super friendly and efficient. We shared the fried feta appetizer and really enjoyed it! The hot honey is more sweet than hot - a must try if you love feta as much as we do. For dinner, I had the shrimp tacos - which, as others have said, were lacking flavor. They definitely needed more seasoning. My friend had the cheeseburger and she said it was good. French fries were served good and hot which we appreciated. Decor is nice - we didn't find it loud at all. But then again, it was a Tuesday night and it wasn't all that busy. Overall, a solid choice. 3 1/2 stars. 7 South Bottle has a gastro pub like menu. We ordered wings and a raspberry ricotta to start. Both were very good. The wings were crispy and tasty. Husband and I ordered the roasted half chicken. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The sides, Brussel sprouts and butternut squash could use some work. They both need more seasoning and texture. I had heard great things (everyone always "7 South is actually really good!!?!?!!!") and gave it a try. First of all: the staff is LOVELY. Very team oriented, helping one mother out with drink orders. Also: the decor and atmosphere are updated, clean, crisp, tasteful. We had cocktails and salad and entree -- all perfect. It is surreal to have such a high quality dining experience without having to go too far from town. Great service, friendly and attentive. If you arrive before 6, appetizers are half price (I don't remember if this is daily, or only some days). Very good selection of beer and ale. Large space with large comfortable tables, that are well-spaced. Everyone enjoyed the food they ordered, but nothing especially remarkable. read more

This restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and great comfort food with little twists. The high ceilings prevent the room from becoming too loud. There are multiple TVs at the bar, for those interested. Both high tops and regular tables are available. It's also great that they have their own parking lot. Multiple servers checked in to make sure we had what we needed, which is helpful. I loved that the sangria comes in a French press pitcher! The whipped ricotta with blueberry bourbon preserves and focaccia appetizer is absolutely fantastic and unique. The short rib grilled cheese is delicious. The chocolate trilogy was the perfect dessert for my birthday dinner! My only wish was that their menu offered a safe option for someone with a shellfish allergy. He ended up ordering a harvest grain bowl, which was good, but he was not able to add any of the protein options. read more

Food was good , appetizer had the feta cheese , keg potatoes with cheese and bacon , both were good , entrees had , grilled short rib and cheese sandwich, and oyster mushrooms with salmon wild rice . Service was ok , but waitresses need to know or be a little more knowledgeable about the foods that are being serviced. When asked about what type of wild rice was being served 2 waitresses could not tell me . So think they need to be prepared and knowledgeable about the restaurants food. Long time fan of the Dolphin, first time caller at 7 South Bottle. This place is legit. First, the service. Everyone from our host to the bartender Katie was superb. You can tell a whole lot about a place by the people who grind the gears and make it go. 6 out of 5 stars for the team. Next, the food. Where do I begin? The 7 South Spring Salad with shrimp is where it's at. These aren't your tiny frozen shrimp. No, no. Huge. Perfectly cooked. Bravissimo. The salad was followed by the pork buns. I was torn entree wise as I saw the salmon blissfully pass by and looked scrumptious, but boy am I glad I stayed true to my gut. Again, perfectly cooked and fabulous presentation. Portion size? Excellent. Traded dessert for another drink but I'll be going for the Chocolate Trilogy, which also made a pass as I was seated, next time. 7 South Bottle + Kitchen opened today in the former Dolphin Seafood in Natick Center. The place was redone which has a casual pub atmosphere featuring a full service bar (3 flatscreen TVs on the brick wall), high top tables, and regular tables. The bar serves beer (12 on tap, bottles), wine, liquor & cocktails. You can also get a beer flight (4 draft beers) for $12. The food menu offerings include a variety of appetizers & flatbread, Korean chicken wings, prime Angus burgers, short rib grilled cheese, Nashville hot chicken sandwich, salads, chicken & waffles, pork belly bao buns, salmon, shrimp & grits, shrimp & gluten free pasta, and grain bowls. I stopped here just after they opened and the bar area was quite busy. I took a seat up at the bar which was almost fully occupied. For food, I started out with Street Taco Flat Bread ($17 plus tax) which was a firm soft flatbread, crunchy on the bottom and edges topped with soft roasted carnitas, cotija queso, white onions, fire roasted corn, peppers, cilantro, salsa verde, crema drizzle & jalapenos. Next, the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich ($16 plus tax) which had a tender breaded/fried chicken patty in Nashville hot sauce/sweet & spicy, topped with pickle chips, roasted tomatoes on bottom between a thick soft buttered bun & served with golden french fries. The food I ordered was spicy and filling. I saw some of the other menu items such as the Korean Chicken Wings, huge soft pretzel, bao buns, short rib grilled cheese, and shrimp salad, all looked very appetizing. The guy next to me loved the wings. Since there was no dessert here (yet), I got the check which was $35.31 with tax and before tip.  Overall, I enjoyed my meal at the bar with an ice water and got some ice cream across the Common afterwards. The service here was prompt with the bartender keeping an eye on the things and making drinks. Food runners from the kitchen served my food, but they were asking customers who had what. As I was leaving, there was a line of customers in the hallway waiting to be seated. I plan to visit again as the menu evolves. read more

Wife and I went yesterday for some apps and a cocktail. As first timers, we thought the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, so why the 2 stars? First the food. We ordered the Fried Feta and the Street Taco Flat Bread. The feta was fried well but barely warm and a bit dry on the inside. It was served with hot honey but not nearly enough. The flat bread was pretty good but we had to search for the carnitas. We both had a regular margarita which was balanced but small. Food and drinks, 3.5 stars. Service. Our server, Charlie, started off well enough, however, as soon as he found out we were only having apps and no entrees, he totally checked out. After our food came out, he did not check on us again, even though he had to walk right past our table to get to his other tables. In fact, after our table was cleared by another server, we sat for about 15 minutes watching Charlie totally ignore us. I finally flagged down the very nice server who cleared our table for the check. With his rude, indifferent demeanor, Charlie should seriously consider a career at the DMV. 1 star. read more

Went here for dinner on a Friday night. The ambiance here is very nice and the cocktails were great too. We ordered the sweet and sticky Korean chicken wings and they were so good! I then ordered the shrimp and grits and it was tasty, even though the grits were a bit bland for my taste. My partner ordered the steak special and he enjoyed it a lot. We really enjoyed our visit here! Nice vibe and friendly service. We loved the potato keg appetizer and the flatbread + my shrimp and grits were terrific. Hubs had the burger, which was very good. Con was that we weren't told the specials before we ordered, but we overheard the other waitress tell them to the table behind us -- we definitely would have gotten the steak if we had been told about it. I haven't written a yelp review in 10 years but this restaurant made me break out of retirement after the 90 dollars I didn't have to spend, got flushed down the drain. 7 South replaces the ONLY restaurant in my 33 years that I've sent a dish back from and refused to pay for it. When I found out The Dolphin or whatever it was called has been replaced I thought, good for whoever took over this lucrative space. Now, I'm pretty sure it's the same owners trying to reinvent it. 7 South serves everything and specializes in nothing. They tee'd us up with the warm pretzel, served directly over the table so all the crumbs and salt get everywhere. Even with this pathetic plating we kept our head held high. The Shrimp and grits was not only bland but borderline offensive to cajun cuisine. The price of this dish vs what you get isn't steep, it's fraud. I would rather the most stale, dropped-on-the-floor, cheeseburger from McDonald's than this dish. My girlfriend got the chicken and waffles, assured by our waiter that it was the hit of the restaurant. Well god bless his soon to be short career because 9 South entered the Twilight Zone to discover how to make basic nuances of sweet, spicy and savory bland and burnt. I implore anyone to go here sober and really just sit with this food because this is a restaurant that doesn't deserve to exist. read more

Overall great experience. We started with the garlic knots which were slightly too dry for me but overall we're alright. We then moved into our second course where I ate the short rib grilled cheese with French fries. The fries were definitely the star of the show! They were to die for!! Appetizer was good. My wife had this roasted chicken which she loved. I had chicken and waffles which was meh....2 waffles each with a piece of luke warm bacon and a piece of boneless fried chicken. The chicken was dry--- the maple syrup was good. Suggestion-southern fried chicken on the bone would have been so much better...the bacon just seemed like it didn't fit.. Stopped In for an evening pint and appetizers. Nicely renovated from the old seafood place. Excellent service. Bar seating with TVs and separate dining areas. Very clean. Parking can be fussy, but we managed to find a spot on the street nearby. Not sure if we were supposed to feed the meter or not at night. That would be a shame if you do. The giant pretzel was one of the best I have had in the area. Looked and tasted great. Served with a beer cheese dipping sauce, and an unlikeable mustard. It was harsh, and I normally like stone-ground mustards that are Dijon-like. I'd recommend ordering it with extra cheese dipping sauce and hold the mustard, but I know some will like the pile of mustard it is served with, so try it once. We also ordered the Korean spicy glazed wings which were excellent. They are crispy and well coated. Definitely something You think about looking forward to the next time you can have them as soon as you leave. Nice that they automatically brought me a handful of wipes when serving them to me. Drinks were served quickly and accurately. Service was good and order came up quite quickly. Some of the drink prices were definitely higher than I weld have expected fit downtown Natick, but you gotta pay somewhere if you want to eat in a nice place with good service and good food. With my recent poor experiences in many restaurants as far as service and food quality, it was refreshing to be someplace where they made providing attentive service and great food look easy. It shows me that many places, post-pandemic, aren't just having staffing issues, but are not even putting in the effort. And those places are still asking premium money Four their food.
