Shrimp and scallops

It's been eight months since we discovered Caesar, his wife, Damaris, and her husband, Ishmael. We have become regular customers, and whether eating there or taking out, the food is consistently awesome! Thank you to all of you for everything you do. Thank you Damaris and Caesar and Ishmael!

Eggplant Rollatini with way too much cream sauce. This is the next day uneaten.

Based on the reviews I ordered expecting decency. I ordered over $100 worth of food. No utensils no napkins and 1 piece of bread. I ordered a Salad to go and the salad was so overly dressed by the time I got my food home it was practically inedible. I ordered eggplant rollatini one of my favorite dishes and the cream sauce was so heavy, there was so much I couldn't eat it.. I ordered The chilean Seabass, I was looking forward to a new sea bass dish and when I tell you there was so much sauce, not to mention I paid extra for gluten free noodles and basically got sauce with noodles. I feel like the food could've been good if everything wasn't overly drenched in sauce and dressing. I honestly didn't enjoy anything.

WOW. We were BLOWN AWAY by this place! My boyfriend and I wanted some Italian food and found this…read moreplace just over the PA border and went for it. This quickly became a favorite restaurant of ours before they even brought the appetizers! First off, the atmosphere was casual and upscale at once-- we had come here spontaneously so we weren't dressed up and we didn't feel out of place, but the table settings and fun decor felt like the right level of elegance to enjoy this great meal. Our waiter was very attentive and checked in to ensure we were having a great meal, and our waters were always filled. Now, the best part: food! There were at least 25 menu options we got excited about and eventually we narrowed it down to the bacon wrapped scallops with an INCREDIBLE pesto honey mustard sauce, veal sorrento which my boyfriend really liked, and Chef Chris's Grilled Salmon which was AWESOME. The salmon is perfectly grilled with baby shrimp, crab meat, tomatoes, and basil on top. Literally INCREDIBLE. It comes in a garlic cream sauce with broccoli rabe (made RIGHT! not bitter at all!) on the side. We had so much fun dining here, and noticed a casual fare deli side to the place that we'll have to check out the next time we're back! Which is bound to be soon!

Eh. I really wanted to love Cafe Antonio because it was recommended to me by my hairdresser…read more Unfortunately, the service ruined any chance of us coming back. Upon being seated, it took about ten minutes for anyone to come take our order. When a waitress realized that nobody had come over to service, she said she would find someone. The waitress who did end up serving us seemed to be training someone. Even with the two of them, though, it took forever to get refills on drinks and anything else we needed. By the time we finally got the check, we couldn't wait to get out of there. The salad was quite good with fresh ingredients and a nice dressing on the side. The pizza was not my favorite, but it was decent and my husband enjoyed it. The atmosphere is casual with a somewhat cheesy Italian vibe, but if it weren't for the service, I would have maybe found it charming.

The Five Four Bar & Grill - Cheese Steak - average -- meat was decent, cheese was good just needed a bit more. Hot peppers gave it some kick. Roll was fresh.

Five Four Bar & Grill has a large U shaped bar, stage for live bands, pool tables, booth seating,…read moretable seating and an area to have a catered event in a private room. They can hold 20-500 people for private events according to their website. The inside is dark and could use a bit of a refresh, but I wouldn't say it's close to the level of dive. It's certainly on the larger side compared to most bars in the area. The staff has always been nice, but service can get slow when the crowd size grows. Just the nature of things. Food wise the menu has a typical mix of pub grub - apps, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and several entrees. A friend was eating their jumbo Buffalo Shrimp off the starter menu and raved about them. I stuck to a Cheesesteak which was average but a deal at $9.50 -- the chopped steak was decent, cheese was good just needed a bit more. Hot peppers gave it some kick and the long roll was fresh. Their beer menu has around a dozen beers on tap. They dabble in more mainstream big beer/craft beer like your Goose Island IPA's/Lagunitas IPA, but do have a decent show of locals like Yards, Victory, Troegs and Weyerbacher. Bourbon wise I had a Knob Creek neat which was average price wise. The pour was on the generous side. Each time I've been here the crowds have been friendly and having a good time. The band we listened to was great and the sound was crisp. Five Four is a family friendly grill during the day and a fun place for adults later at night. Thanks guys!

Unfortunately, they do not have a lunch special so it was $18 for a meat, 2 sides and rice. They advised that they have specials only on Tuesday and Saturday. Bummer! I ordered the yams, Mac and cheese, rice and sweet & spicy chicken tenders. They were fried perfectly and still crunchy even after the food got a little colder. I will try them again on a Tuesday and remember the specials is CASH only.

Let's start by saying that they have a great special on Wednesdays and Saturdays. $10 for a medium platter. The platter comes with a protein, rice, and two sides. The inside was spacious but seemed a bit empty as far as furniture and decor. It was cool though. There was about 5 people on line behind me as I was leaving but upon arrival, there was only one person ahead. I'm guessing since this special is a popular one that's why the food seemed to be running low. People were coming in quicker than they could replace the food on display (in my opinion). Very nice service. They were quick and efficient. Again I like the special on these days but I do want to go back on other days to try other items I've seen on their social media.

My husband ordered the shrimp tempura. Even with delivery, the tempura was hot and crispy. A friend ordered a chicken tempura roll. The roll was crispy, large, and fresh. A must order. Inside were shrimp shumai, gyoza, Chili Korean Bao, a two-protein poke burrito stuffed with crab meat and spicy tuna, plus a spicy tuna roll and a spicy scallop roll. This is more food than any two people strictly need, which is one of civilization's finer achievements. The good news: nothing was bad. Not a single bite asked to be forgiven. The shrimp shumai were the clear overachievers: plump, warm, and reassuring, like a friendly lecture from someone who actually did the reading. The spicy scallop roll was their equal, delivering that perfect balance of heat and sweetness that makes you briefly optimistic about the future of humankind. The poke burrito was ambitious, a bold little manifesto wrapped in rice and seaweed. Crab meat and spicy tuna got along just fine, though the whole affair leaned more toward "good" than "revelation." The spicy tuna roll was solid and dependable, like a Midwestern uncle who always shows up on time. The gyoza and Chili Korean Bao did their jobs honorably, though neither demanded a standing ovation. Everything arrived intact, flavorful, and prepared by people who seemed to care, always a comfort in an indifferent universe. Four stars, then, because perfection is suspicious and because it's nice to leave something to strive for tomorrow.
