I had a hankering for Pho and it's nice to have it here without having to traipse all the way to Wichita. We also had crab rangoon - hot, fresh, and delicious. Hubby had sweet and sour pork with fried rice. Though the fried rice didn't have peas and carrots in it, he gave that and the pork a big thumbs up. We came just before the rush and that place was pretty much hoppin' when we left (Friday night). We could see the register area, and there were about as many takeout orders as there were people seated and eating in (about 8-9 of each group during the time we were there). There are some decorations, and the fish mural is beautiful. The rest of the restaurant is pretty much Tan City in color, so it could use a bit more pizzazz that way. The wait staff is very nice and attentive. Our waitress was born in Indonesia and she was a sweetheart. We will definitely return!

My wife, our toddler, and I visited Newport Grill for dinner, but we were forced to leave due to the extremely unprofessional behavior of our waiter. When we advised the waiter that the appetizer we received was not what we had ordered, his response was highly unprofessional. He went too far when he involved my young daughter in the situation, to the point where I felt it was best forme and my family to leave the restaurant immediately. I do want to mention that the on-duty manager was very apologetic and handled the situation with the utmost professionalism. We went ahead and paid for the food we had received before leaving. However, the waiter's conduct was entirely unacceptable, especially regarding how he interacted with our child. I hope this matter will be addressed appropriately with the staff member involved.

This was not the audience for traditional food. This crowd, "and yes it was a crowd", was looking for watered down Chinese food. Simon would do catering as well and that was fantastic, he would cook traditional Chinese food that was awesome! I feel it is not fair to compare his restaurant to East or West Coast Take-Outs. Also, if you would of ordered from the menu, you would of had a different experience, or even went to their restaurant at the mall. One other note, during the time when this restaurant was open, there were two other Chinese Restaurants, "They were traditional" and had very poor business. The China Garden by far had the most business and was open on major holidays, the crowd was substantial. I am a white American who married a Chinese woman and moved to NYC, the Chinese food that posters here consider Chinese food is not Chinese food!
