Great old school bike shop, has knowledge and parts for just about any bike. Good value and…read morefriendly service.

I was in OB this weekend riding around and I got a flat rear tire on my ebike. Called them and…read morethey said they didn't have my tube size. Luckily I had a spare tube, but unluckily I didn't have my 18mm wrench to remove the rear wheel. They said they could do it, and I dropped the bike off. They closed in two hours and said it would be done by 5. Walked by about an hour later (no call), and the bike was in the store and done. Go inside and no one was in the store, but I heard someone in the back. After a few minutes we looked in the back and asked if the bike was done. It was, and it was $20 for the fix. I was happy with that! Started riding out of OB, and by the time we hit Morena area, something felt off. Looked down and the tire looked soft. Within 5 more minutes it was dead flat. Had to call for a ride all the way back home. Today I looked at the tire closely with a flashlight and saw that they never removed the tiny piece of metal in the tire that caused the flat. Took the wheel off and put pressure in the tube, only to find the leak was on the inner (rim side) of the tube. Nothing sharp on the rim, so they must have messed up on the install. Why replace a tube and not inspect the tire? And a bike shop that installs a tube wrong that causes a flat? Gave this place 2 stars just for the fact that I'm only out $20

I went into Mission Trails Bike Shop today to get help replacing a tube on a fat tire bike. I…read morebrought both the tire and the tube, so all I needed was the labor. Their website lists a tire tube change at $10 for labor only, which seemed fair. As soon as I arrived, they started working on the tire and removed the tube. It took them about 10 minutes to do, using metal tire levers which I was trying to avoid at home so I would not damage the rim. But, professionals, right? I trusted what they were doing, and ultimately the rim looks fine. When it came time to pay, I was asked if I had cash. I did not, so I went to get some to support a small business. I came back with $40. That is when the gentleman saw the cash and hand and told me they "usually charge $40" for the service, even though the website says $10 and there were no prices posted in the shop. I can understand paying extra since it was a fat tire and a little more difficult, maybe even $20, but being charged $40 after they saw the cash in my hand felt shady. Perhaps it was my mistake not asking about the pricing upfront, but if you have pricing posted on your website, I would expect it to be in that ballpark. In the end, I paid four times the posted rate just for labor, despite supplying my own parts. I will not be returning to this shop and cannot recommend it to others.

A week later I come to pick it up and on test ride the spring on the derailer which he worked on twice breaks right in front of him on test ride and he's like oh well deal with it. I feel like he stole from me sellingme unneeded parts and leaving me with a broken bike!!!! Save your time and money at a more experienced skilled shop. Place inside looks like a hoarder's house and his records are on index cards!!!! Be warned and please do not make the same mistake I did!!!!
