So sad to see them leave Berkeley.... But it was worth the drive to San Anselmo. Cactus Jungle continues to have best selection of succulents and though I cannot have my cactus (Too curious cats and Grandchildren). I don't feel cheated because they have stuff you can't find a most nurseries or garden shops. I definitely will come back and enjoy San Anselmo. read more

Cactus Jungle is definitely one of my favor Bay Area cactus and succulent stores to shop from. Their variety always has something new, especially if you pay attention to their newsletter where they announce their new stock. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. There are two locations, and I feel this location in San Anselmo is a bit smaller compared to their Berkeley location. But it still offers quite a good selection both indoor and outdoor. Most of what they have will be cactus and succulent, but they have a few air plants as well. The price range is pretty broad, from smaller $3-4 succulent selection to rarer $100+ plants, there's something here for everyone and is definitely better than your Home Depo or Lowe's selections. I definitely look forward to coming back then next time I'm in the area. read more

I recently bought a jewel orchid mecodes petola from this store. I opted to pay more for a rooted plant and support a local business instead of purchasing a cutting for a lower price. After a week, the plant was not thriving and lost a leaf. I though perhaps it was root rot so I took it out of the pot only to discover that it wasn't a rooted plant. It was a cutting wrapped in peat moss and put into a 4" pot. This was so disappointing! I think if they are selling cuttings, they should have made that clear so that I could have taken better care of it as a cutting and not as a plant with an established root system. It is a shame because I really liked this store. I have purchased plants and pots in the past and made a point of visiting anytime I was in the area but I have not been back since. read more

I really love this place. Everyone I've talked to at Cactus Jungle has been super friendly and knows their stuff. I have purchased large palms, pitcher plants and most recently lithops and succulents from them. I haven't had a single plant casualty yet thanks to everyone's tips on plant care. Yesterday I went in to get a few succulents and they offered to help me plant them in one of their pots. I couldn't be more thrilled with the way the pots came out. If you're a succulent fan, this is the place to be! The selection and variety is vast and fun to look through. Staff was friendly and helpful and seemed to know their stuff. There's parking available in their lot in front of the store. Inside their shop they have some extra garden decor, accessories & tools, cute gift items, housewares, local goods & more. Air plants and terrarium products too! Aside from the wide range of cacti & succulents they also offer a ton of pots and planters, of varying designs and sizes. There are oodles of terra cotta pots for good prices! Great place to check out for those alone as well. I thoroughly enjoyed browsing their inventory and selection of items the first time I came here, can't wait to go back and get some more plants! Great place -- stunning selection of outdoor cactus and houseplants and such a friendly staff! I saw a planter that I fancied, but it was inhabited by *ahem* "someone" (a big spider) *EEK!* I was planning on leaving it behind but the saleslady was SO kind, to me and it! she scooped he and his web up gently and moved him to a new location and offered to throughly clean the planter out for me, so I could be confident that it was 100% spider-free! she was also very nice to my little boy who has an inquiring mind and likes to know every thing in detail. she chatted him up the whole time -- remaining both personable and professional while still making herself available to other guests and her fellow employees. I'd recommend this cactus nursery to anyone who is in the neighborhood or even within a 50 mile radius. 5-star awesome! read more

My daughter and I have a new obsession- Succulents! Before we discovered Cactus Jungle, we had been to a few other local nurseries or garden centers and they were fine. Once we discovered Cactus Jungle there has never been a reason to go anywhere else. They have hundreds of varietals in all sizes, many of which we didn't see at the other shops. They have everything you need for succulents- pots, soil, accessories. Their prices are reasonable, mostly aligned with the other places and sometimes lower. For me, what really sets them apart is the people who work there. They are incredibly knowledgable and are happy to impart their knowledge to us in a friendly, patient way. OK, I have to go now. It's time for our weekly visit to Cactus Jungle! read more

Just a word of caution here. I placed an order for Bamboo with cactus Jungle. Which in total came to over $1500. I was Promised that the plants (15 Gallon)which were $199 each would contain 8-10 stalks each. What I received contained 2-3 stalks each plant and the plants had brown on them like they had not been properly Cared for. Also some off the stalks had been cut off. The quality was very poor and when I attempted to rectify this with the owner Peter L. he accused me of wanting free product and said I sent a "bold-faced Demand for special treatment" those were this business owners exact words. He also insinuated That I mistreated his employees which is untrue. I was kind to everyone and In actuality all I wanted was what I was promised by his employee and the proper standard of what I paid for. Short story long they will not stand behind the information they give you or their product, and if you complain they treat you like they did you a favor not like you paid for a service. Because of the quality of what I received I will have to purchase more Bamboo but rest assured I will use another nursery not this place. I guess the days where businesses value their customer are over. DONT DO IT GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

I was thrilled to learn that Cactus Jungle was opening a new location in my neck of the woods! They are known for their well curated selection of cacti, agaves, aloes, succulents, and companion plants. They also have a collection of smaller (more affordable) plants including vegetable starters. I spent an hour browsing through their beautiful gift shop and indoor plant area. It's about time they opened a second location! And what a beautiful location too! It's near downtown San Anselmo right along the creek. I visited this new store shortly after it got up and running and it looks amazing. Cactus Jungle has always amazed me with their inventory of interesting plants, beautiful garden accessories, and super-helpful staff and I'm so happy they have this great new space to share their passion for horticulture and style with the Marin community. Seriously, no other nursery offers offers such a rich variety of plants which are well suited to our dry climate and knowledge of how to make them work in my garden. I had such a great experience here! I had two large spiky cacti (from somewhere else) that were trying to do me harm (by poking me - okay, i guess technically I was poking them), and Kali helped me replace them with a mix of different (non-spiky) cacti. She was careful to select plants that worked with our lighting and picked a selection that looks so good! They did the repotting, and I ended up with arrangements (and watering instructions) I couldn't be more happy with! I am thrilled.
