a plate of food with tortillas and salsa

Stuck in Laconia on a Monday night, few places open. This place looked homey! And it was! Super nice waitress which is what gives it the fourth star. Food was ok. The smash burger was a hit but my steak and cheese quesadilla was not, too much seasoning on the outside and greasy. I loved the shrimp app but three shrimp?? Three? And the blue cheese dipping sauce they came with was weird. Looks like a great place for sports and beer!

As someone from the Southwest, I set my expectations very low for this place because how could NH possibly have authentic Mexican food? I was pleasantly surprised by the carne asada tacos which had tender and flavorful meat served in a hard shell taco wrapped in a flour tortilla with some queso between the two. Not a traditional serving by any means, but I liked it. The rice and beans weren't bad, but also nothing to write home about. The service was fine. The margaritas were fun, though not anything I'd go out of my way to go back for. That said, I would go back for the food and would likely get a marg to go with it, but wouldn't seek out the margs on their own.

Excellent for drunk food on the way home from a concert! Liked sitting at the bar, crowded and lively bunch there even late.

Service was great. Try their spinach and artichoke dip and Cajun seasoned bread. Their wings are ok.

Literally walked in at 12:31am with over 20 patrons being served and was told they were closed for the night. Absolutely ridiculous.

Ventured from Southern New Hampshire to do a little Christmas shopping in the White Mountains…read more Needed a halfway point for a late lunch. Found this gem on Yelp. Old style Tavern/pub. The first thing we noticed when we walked in the door was that Christmas smacked us in the face with the best smelling Christmas Tree candle , burning in a super cute entryway. I could hardly wait to get inside to see what else this place had in store. First, there was a fireplace and a couch and a table. In the rest of the dining area, we're all high tops. Not so high that a barely over 5 foot person such as myself couldn't sit comfortably. Our waitstaff (there were two) and were great about offering menu suggestions when I shared flavor profiles I might be looking for and they were attentive and so pleasant. They had super cute Christmas decorations, and were putting up more while we were there. The vibe is super warm and welcoming, and for a short while you feel like you stepped back in time. The tiramisu martini was delicious, as was the blood orange martini. I had the cauliflower with juju sauce at the recommendation of the waitress, and it was honestly the best cauliflower I've ever had! My husband enjoyed his macaroni and cheese with buffalo and bleu as well. The owner/chef, Leslie, came and chatted with us for a little bit before we were on our way. We learned that in the summer they hold concerts, and they have a golf course. There is a distillery on site as well. Everything about this place was excellent, and we are already planning a day date to go back and try more menu items!

What an absolutely delightful place!…read more Ambiance: Adorable. Farm store is well-stocked with fresh veggies and tons of tasty treats and tchotchkes. The outdoor areas have some seating right against the store and tons more in the beer garden area. Greenhouses. A whole kid play area with toys, sandboxes, swings. And live farm animals to visit and observe (cow, goats, geese, etc.) Super cute, lots to see, and fabulous for families. Service: Friendly and warm. Pretty sure it was the owner who took our orders in the cafe window. He was so sweet and struck up a conversation with us about whether we were visiting, local, etc. He noticed our baby and told us about their family nights with campfires and live music and kid games. The woman at checkout was also super nice when I bought a few store items. Food: GUYS. Simple but sooooo fresh and wonderful. We all loved it, even my picky MIL. We got coffee and breakfast sandwiches / wraps. It was a bit of a wait but we were happy to sit outside and chat and even happier when the food turned out to be so yummy. The bagels were soft inside but crispy outside (they grill them, not just toast. But not greasy!!) Eggs are local. Veggies are fresh. All made with care.

This year they also had plastic snow fencing blocking off certain areas of the maze, a lot of them were falling down and partially in the maze walkways, causing a tripping hazard, ask me how I know! While we love to try new spooky things and also like to do things we know and love, I think we'll skip this one next year.
