I have had so many issues with my car and was told it was going to be 5000 for repairs on just my catalytics. When told I could easily replace my car for one of theirs or work with them about my repairs. They didn't believe me at all and now I'm stuck with a car that has had issues since date of purchase. This was in 12/23/2021 as a Christmas present to myself after I lost my grandfather the month prior. I cannot deal with this as I myself am a single mom and full time college student with no way to get any sort of income. When buying a pre-owned vehicle, especially one that is older, it is important to understand that it is purchased "as is." As such, the vehicle isn't going to be perfect. Things may break down over time. The dealership can only be responsible for repairs that need to be done within the warranty period in the sales contract. Cactus sold a 2009 BMW 335i to my son (his mother) and the vehicle was solid. It was by no means perfect and Cactus didn't claim it to be. They were honest in the assessment of the vehicle and about repairs that would likely need to be done in the future. After my son started driving the vehicle (within the warranty period), some issues surfaced. I was very happy that Taj and her service crew repaired the vehicle as promised and at no charge. I purchased a vehicle from them and was told the problems would be fixed. I have no jack, at first, I had no spare. The main belt has squealed from day one. Still not fixed.Two tires blew due to being in poor condition and when the wheel is turned to the right something under the hood still clicks. I was told by Zeus all these problems would be fixed but was later told they will not do so. And I just found out from Toyota there are 6 serious recalls on the vehicle that are going to require a week to fix. They sold me a lemon. I will not do business with them again. While driving away, I noticed the ignition was being "funny", so I told Gary. He said give me a call in the morning (he stayed after hours to find alive my car). This is a garbage dealer. Sold me the worst lemon in the world. Went to their service department like a month after buying the car and multiple other times all about the same issues. They always said they couldn't find anything. Now the problem was finally presented itself (to the Chevy dealer, not the cactus auto service department) and the warranty we got through cactus auto won't even cover the thousands of dollars in damages because they're blaming us for the issue. I also called cactus auto to get the service records from before they sold me the car. They didn't even do as much as an oil change before putting the car on their lot. We saw a van advertised on their website and went to look at it on a Saturday. When we got there, the first guy that talked to us asked if he could help but didn't introduce himself. We told him that we wanted to look at that particular van. He said he'd get the keys and suggested that we look around. He didn't tell us where the van was parked, and he disappeared. We started looking and several others asked if we'd been helped. We said we had but didn't know his name because he hadn't introduced himself. Since we'd been "helped", the next couple of guys weren't interested in helping. Finally, asked and we told him about the van and they told us where it was parked. When we found the van and looked it over, still on our own, we discovered that the interior engine cover was in the center of the van and the engine was exposed. My wife gave up then. I waited another five minutes or more for the first salesperson to finally come back. He said that they were waiting for a part and they couldn't even start it until Monday or Tuesday. I started to walk away and mentioned that they shouldn't have advertised the van if it wasn't ready to sell. He said they'd have it running on Monday or Tuesday and I could come back. I said that I'd already driven across town to look at it because they advertised it as being ready to sell and they were wasting my time because it obviously wasn't. He said something about they could consider that in the negotiations. Again I said no, they were just wasting my time. I never did get his name, but it doesn't matter because in this instance they've already shown that they're disorganized and I wouldn't buy from them. read more

I needed to purchase a vehicle for my son to use at college. Looking for something reliable that would get him back and forth from Phoenix to Tucson. I looked at several cars at several dealerships as well as a couple private sellers. I brought a couple cars over to my mechanic at BrakeMax (love those guys in Oro Valley - Rick and Leroy) and the cars were not up to the cut. Then After scouring the internet I found a nice looking Ford Mustang that had decent miles. I contacted Chris and made an appointment to look at the car. When I got there, he grabbed the keys handed them to me and let me go take a 30 minute test drive. I liked the car so asked if I could bring it to my mechanic at BrakeMax 30 minutes away. He handed me the keys again and I was off to see the mechanic. At BrakeMax when they saw the car they told me that many times a Mustang is modified by a young guy and 99% of the time the modifications are not good for the car. But after they spent an hour digging in every nook and cranny of the car they came back and told me it was in EXCELLENT condition. I told my BrakeMax guy the price Cactus was asking, he did a little research and said it was a very fair price. Chris was great to work with and I highly recommend him and Cactus. My experience at Cactus Auto was less than spectacular as all the reviews seems to be implying. I was guaranteed by Hans that he would help me get a car with monthly payments between $100 - $200 because I'm on a tight budget. We test drive a Chevy Aveo and I liked it. I told him that my credit was bad and I wanted to use my current car as a down payment. He assured me that they work with clients whose credit was just as bad as mine. We did the paperwork and he went next door to run my credit. After 15 minutes, he came back and told me that I had to scrap up $500 as a down payment and that my monthly payments would be about $220. WTF? Then he tried to make it sound like it's only $20 extra dollars I would have to come up with per month and I should cut back on Starbucks. Excuse me?? Where did he get the idea that I go to Starbucks on a daily basis? I don't even like Starbucks. To make a long story short, I told him thanks but no thanks on the deal. Then he told me that he would stay in touch with me in case any better deals came up. The following day, he left a message on my voicemail saying he found me a nice deal but the monthly payments would be $200. I place a call block on my phone because I don't have times for games. Either he gets me a deal that I can realistically afford or don't waste my time. So needless to say, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I am VERY disappointed in the quality of service that Cactus Auto provides. DO NOT GO TO CACTUS AUTO!!!!! In November of 2016 I bought a Jeep Compass and Cactus Auto has let me down ever since. I took the car I bought from them to Phoenix that same weekend, and when I got to Riggs road, my transmission began to overheat. I proceeded to take my car to them that Monday I got home and they said they had fixed all the issues with the transmission and it would not happen again. Although they did NOT fix my car whatsoever, because within the 15 day warranty I had taken it back to Cactus Auto to get fixed THREE TIMES. Every time they said they had solved the issue, but I had to keep bringing it back because the transmission kept overheating (which is what they had said they fixed the FIRST time I brought it in). After it had been already over a year, I went back to complain about my car and how they had lied when they said they fixed it numerous times, but they were no help at all. After they sold me the car, they continued to take my money and said it was "fixed" but no problem was ever solved. Instead of offering a trade or actually fixing the car I had bought from them prior, the employees were only trying to sell me a new vehicle because they "had to make their bonus." They are nothing but a SCAM and are trying to take more money from you instead of actually helping out with the cars they sold to you in the first place. Ishmael was good to work with but I really did not like the financing terms. 22% is too high. I also did not like the pressure to put me into a car I could not afford. They put a lot of effort to make the car look good which is disturbing when all I wanted was a good used car that was dependable. They steam clean every car so you can't examine the engine area for leaks. It is IMPERATIVE to take the time to head down to Brake Max (Grant and Silverbell) to have a pre-purchase inspection done. I did appreciate Ishmael's cooperation to pull up the CarFax for the autos I was interested in (extra star for that). I ended up just using my down payment money to find a used car from a private seller. Yes, I had to spend some money to get that car in good shape but I ended up saving money in the long run. It took about a month to get them out of my hair to come back to look at more cars. I'm sure there are some good cars there. If your back is against the wall then you do what you have to do to get a car. Just take the time to do your homework. Get the CarFax and do the pre-purchase inspection. read more
