But surprisingly, our favorite exhibit was the nursery where it's a research lab where they brew up algae, breed seahorses, and all sorts of nature preservation projects. Definitely worth a walkthrough. Did I mention it's free to come here? But you can also donate and by all means, should donate, cause this is a precious institution that should remain for future generations to come. I love this pool because it's in my neighborhood and my family doesn't have a personal one at home…read more However, the staff can at times seem passive aggressive and are really strict with the rules, a couple years back this seemed to be a larger issue when my son took swim lessons and there was one grouch on duty at all times during the free swims, she would be better suited as a boot camp instructor than a lifeguard....but this problem seems to have subsided this year and I haven't seen her since. The older lady at the front can seem a bit uptight if you haven't been here before, but I think that's just her personality and I don't think she means it in a harmful way. The pool is nice but there are limitations and swim tests so it's not like a fully free swim (as expected from a public pool) and the floor can get slimy and gross in the front of the pool where there is no test required to enter. I hope they fix the slimy floor because that is a build up of algae and a slipping risk...but all in all it's a really good place to know about so you can stop by when there's nothing to do or it's a bit hot.

Swan Boat Ride | Everyone has to wear the puppy life vest well I did not go with my dress, safety is key! Hahaha! The ride was fun, as it does require that you pedal... So get ready to get a two for one, fun ride as well as exercise as you enjoy the view along the way! Cost | $13 per person! We were told to buy our tickets online; easily on our phones! Photo ID is required as well! An hour long ride! Note | I recommend bringing/wearing a hat and/or sunglasses if it's a super hot day! There is a cover on the top of the Swan Boats, which helped shield us from the intense heat on this particular sunny Saturday! Sighting | I nearly passed out when I noticed there was a wedding in progress as we paddled by, so beautiful! We paddled by as quickly as possible as not to disturb their photo moments! The scenery was quite beautiful! The other boats paddled by quickly as well and went to the side to watch from a distance! I bet the boat actually looked quite beautiful in the background in the photographs! Maybe that was their plan all along! Overall | Yes, please! I'm not the type to ever ask for an exception, so I asked for a curtesy, there was no exception made. There was only a few hours left before the aquarium closes, and I didn't want to disappoint my daughter after we already drove down here and parked I asked if they could make the exception, they said no but that I could buy a ticket for today at the membership price (which wouldn't make sense because the aquarium closes soon). And with this economy it's just not feasible to buy a whole new ticket esp if my membership just recently expired. And we can't renew because we can't make it down here as often as we would like due to logistics. Sad there's no curtesy, my daughter was really excited to go and we supported the aquarium by initially buying the membership to see but now to see the lack of flexibility when asking for a curtesy of a few hours is really disappointing my daughter was really sad and cried. Sad that the aquarium can't provide a curtesy when the membership expire that same month it doesn't cost anything to let a child be there who already paid through a membership for a few hours esp if they are already there in person.
