Different from any of the California piers I have been to yet. You drive up and pay to park ($2) It is super full, but enough parking for all. The beach has a BBQ area, bathrooms, a grassy area for picnics. The pier is very wide with views of Long Beach and the Harbor on one side. Not my favorite pier, but glad I got to see it.

Not sure what kind of lobster, but he was safely sent back to sea. Guesstimate of weight was 5 plus lbs.

First time here, night fishing. First catch of the night was a monster lobster. pretty awesome place!!!

My fisherman Bob see the wave breaking behind him?

Can't believe I didn't know about this place and I live in the South Bay. This is truly a fun spot…read moreto come to during summer with the family. Not only is it educational, but it's a great place for the whole family and it's free. You can of course make a donation but it's such a great spot to come too. You can bring your lunch and just hang. What's so neat about this place is that it's next to the Marina and there's a cool park in the same area so you can hit the water and swings area and have a picnic. As you enter they are so friendly and will answer your questions if you have any. You can also become a member and they have their perks as well. You can also get a tour with someone who works there and you can also go on your own and at your own pace. But everyone here is FRiENDLY! The bathrooms were very clean and they even had 2 big bathrooms with changing tables and for the family as well enough room for all. The displays, information and the real life bones and all they have of the whales, sharks and history and facts is so mind blowing and really keeps you interested even if you are young and older as well. So many fun facts and animals to see. Lots of cool fish and sea creatures that you can admire and just mind blowing that these were created for us to enjoy and research and some even make us laugh. The whole place was just great all around from inside to the outside just so many cool features and even a cool area for the infants and toddlers to read books, touch cool animals and just dive into fun facts. As you end your day there there is a cool shop you can get some fun stuff and snacks as well. Dangerous place to take the kids ha ha.. they have some cool squishies and fun stuffies that they will want. The prices are reasonable but for a good cause for sure. I can't wait to be back. Def a cool spot to come hang with the whole family. Parking is $3 for 1 hr and if you stay a bit longer it's ok they don't check. Bring your lunch and come hang here.

Cabrillo Marine Aquarium…read more This is a review for my experience at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. PARKING $9 for the whole day I enjoyed going to the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. Words to describe the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium: Family friendly, Interactive, Educational, Fun, Immersive, Calming, Peaceful, Mesmerizing, Budget friendly=FREE, It has several exhibits to explore, focusing on the ocean and sea life. Some of my favorite exhibits were: TOUCH POOL: The pool is home to sea stars, sea urchins, and sea slugs. It is spacious for exploring. It was neat feeling the different textures of the animals. Some were slimy, prickly, squishy, and smooth. MARINE MAMMALS: I enjoyed learning about the whales. There are life size structures and displays of interesting facts that you can read. A cool fact I learned: Did you know whale milk is 53% fat?!!! Human and cow milk is only 4%! Wow! PUPPET SHOW/FILMS AUDITORIUM: The puppet show was so cute! They were singing about different marine animals with tunes from pop hits! It was very entertaining! SPOT SPOTTY THE OCTOPUS: If you find Spotty, the plush octopus, in the aquarium, snap a photo of him, and show it to the front desk. You'll be awarded with a prize! :) *After the aquarium, you can detour to the beach/playground which are across the way! I recommended bringing a picnic basket and blanket, so you can enjoy the sun, water, and sand. I highly recommend visiting the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. It is a great trip for everyone in the family! I learned so many unique facts! The staff were so friendly and helpful as well. If you want to SHELLebrate how MERmazing ocean life is, I suggest you SEAS the day at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium.

You had to book it on the website but it was so easy and fast that I was able to book it while in line. They need an ID before you can start so don't forget that! My one thing I would be whiny about is that the life vest pile had some dirty stained ones but we managed to pick out some clean looking ones from the piles. They have a separate bin for when you leave and there is a guy that apparently cleans them after. Overall we had a very chill and relaxing swan ride. Remember you don't need to be paddling the whole hour unless you want your legs to feel like jelly after. Staff was very friendly and even helped us take a group photo in the end.Would not mind going here again, definitely worth it for the good memories.

Swan Boat Ride | Everyone has to wear the puppy life vest well I did not go with my dress, safety is key! Hahaha! The ride was fun, as it does require that you pedal... So get ready to get a two for one, fun ride as well as exercise as you enjoy the view along the way! Cost | $13 per person! We were told to buy our tickets online; easily on our phones! Photo ID is required as well! An hour long ride! Note | I recommend bringing/wearing a hat and/or sunglasses if it's a super hot day! There is a cover on the top of the Swan Boats, which helped shield us from the intense heat on this particular sunny Saturday! Sighting | I nearly passed out when I noticed there was a wedding in progress as we paddled by, so beautiful! We paddled by as quickly as possible as not to disturb their photo moments! The scenery was quite beautiful! The other boats paddled by quickly as well and went to the side to watch from a distance! I bet the boat actually looked quite beautiful in the background in the photographs! Maybe that was their plan all along! Overall | Yes, please! Swan Boat rides are super fun, as well as lots of laughs along the way! Cheers to Pedal power! Haha!

There's street parking and different structures you can park in as well. It's also on the second floor of a plaza, pretty easy to find. The inside is designed weird bc the front desk isn't obvious and you have to turn a corner to find it? There was only 1 person working that shift when I arrived. Apparently other people reserved 8pm too but they all were late so my social lane ended up being just me for a while before others joined. Sebastian did a great job of explaining the rules and he was super nice always coming around to check on me and the group of friends I randomly bumped into. He was very attentive and kind and funny! This is a great activity either for date night or a friends night out! I would definitely come come back with friends and utilize the Groupon again!
