Different from any of the California piers I have been to yet. You drive up and pay to park ($2) It is super full, but enough parking for all. The beach has a BBQ area, bathrooms, a grassy area for picnics. The pier is very wide with views of Long Beach and the Harbor on one side. Not my favorite pier, but glad I got to see it.

Not sure what kind of lobster, but he was safely sent back to sea. Guesstimate of weight was 5 plus lbs.

First time here, night fishing. First catch of the night was a monster lobster. pretty awesome place!!!

My fisherman Bob see the wave breaking behind him?

Started off someplace else and just continued on to see and stop off at all the locations nearby. There's a good amount of parking along the street as well as some along the neighborhood. The park itself is overly big but it does have a good size to it. The nice massive trees lined the area. There's a nice little path along the sides where it looks out to the Pacific Ocean and the cliffs below. It was low tide so seeing the tide pools was quite beautiful. Along the path are little covered area which are label by number. Like mini covered patio with a table and seat. They too all looks out to the water. I believe there was a total of 8 seating enclosures along the path. Also, loads of squirrels roaming the place like it's nothing. They are not scared of you so be warn. Clearly there were signs not to feed the wildlife but there was people out with bags of peanuts feeding them. In the middle of the park is a little stage area and with benches. I'm sure they have theatre in the park happening if that's set up. And a playground around the side of it. There's also a lighthouse which is a focal point of the park. Situated right in the middle which now double as a museum. It's a cute park that I never knew about. Decent size for picnics or a nice wander around. The view alone along the path was spectacular. The cliff edge is dangerous so practice caution. Common sense, but they also had signs posted about suicides. It's a cute neighborhood park as along the front are homes right across the street.

There is a scenic path along the edge of the park that is a relaxing walk, fresh air and breeze. The fruit sellers have a good variety of fruits, even cactus fruit. The pergolas with tables are prime spots, if you see a table open swoop in and grab it right away or it will get swooped up! In my short visit, I saw families, romantic couple and a guy jamming out on a guitar and a motorcycle club taking a rest break.

I love this aquarium and excited for the renovations to be done on April 11…read more We went a few times already and mainly to see the whale figures outside. We also got to check out the gift shop for the first time and they had so many toys, Knick knacks, puzzles, and other games for kids and families. I gave in and let my kid choose a toy which he had plenty of but because they were different poses I allowed one. The touch tank is still available and they host them at specific times. They also have their two smaller exhibits open which is still fun to explore. We also saw other shows they have such as puppet shows and movies! Depending on the day, they might show different things. They also have their staff come out to present hatchlings of grunions and other sea life presentations. Very cool place, free admission, parking is only $1/hour, and they appreciate any amount of donations you can help with!

I adore this aquarium. It heavily featured in my childhood and now I'm bringing my own child here…read more The main exhibit hall is currently under renovation and is set to open in April 2026, but there's still plenty to see and do. The exploration center (which has puzzles and books for the little ones to enjoy) and the nursery are still open (you can still see jellyfish, shrimps/prawns, abalone among other things, we even got to see a jellyfish feeding while we were there!). We plan to come back when the exhibit hall reopens and I hope they still have the Tidepool Touch Tank in the back I loved so much as a child. There's also other free activities for the kids to enjoy like the puppet show and the shark touch tank (super cool), and my son got to touch a shark! This is such a cute and humble little aquarium. It's free admission, but they greatly appreciate donations. Much has stayed the same and much has also changed since I was here as a child. You do have to pay for parking, $1 per hour which is really reasonable. There's a nice quiet beach to enjoy out front. There's a small Offset Coffee bar attached to the aquarium now as well. And there's a little gift shop with lots of educational toys and books. In a world where more and more kids (and adults) doom scroll and become addicted to social media, I really appreciate places like this that are free and still available to the public. It's really impressive how much they still offer and how many cool things you can see and still learn about despite the lack of admission fees. I will keep happily supporting them and we definitely need to preserve and have more spaces like this, as they are becoming more and more rare in the digital age. It's nice to make the trek out here, get off our screens and touch some grass (or sharks rather!). And maybe I'm biased, but I love this place more than the Long Beach Aquarium! (Monterey Bay aquarium is probably truly the best aquarium in California though!) Will definitely come back again and again.

We arrive right at 7:30pm & I was so happy we did! Lines started building up after we were already in! They have bars inside & out, snack / food bars, a free photo station where someone takes a photo of you & prints out two copies (: then we started our exploring! So many cute fish, we loved all the jellyfish, shark lagoon was probably our favorite spot of the night! You can touch the sharks, stingrays & jelly fish while people who work there walk about giving you cool facts about each! Shout out to Brad, he gave us all the cool shark facts as well as our cute first timer pins (: They even have a dj & he was throwing out some bangers! lol We had a great night! I wish we could have seen the sea lions a bit better but it was pretty dark in their area, we did see one pretty active swimming back n forth & two sleeping on a rock ha Totally recommend for a cute date night! There was only 1 available elevator out of 4.. however it wasnt too busy. They have a ticket booth outside to purchase tickets but we got ours online. They scan yoye ticket inside and we were off! We got to see a lot of super cool stuff like fish, jellyfish, sharks, turtles, Frogs, penguins etc. Our favorite exhibit was the birds. You get to go into this big cage and for $5 they give you a small cup of nectar for the birds to eat. They are all around you and you can feed them. We had a great time and we finished everything around 3pm. They close at 6pm.

There's street parking and different structures you can park in as well. It's also on the second floor of a plaza, pretty easy to find. The inside is designed weird bc the front desk isn't obvious and you have to turn a corner to find it? There was only 1 person working that shift when I arrived. Apparently other people reserved 8pm too but they all were late so my social lane ended up being just me for a while before others joined. Sebastian did a great job of explaining the rules and he was super nice always coming around to check on me and the group of friends I randomly bumped into. He was very attentive and kind and funny! This is a great activity either for date night or a friends night out! I would definitely come come back with friends and utilize the Groupon again!
