I have been calling since August 12 for service, all service lost. A tech came after a few days and restored all optimum boxes which all needed replacement I still needed dial-tone restored which this tech was unable to do.I waited a few more days and a second tech came and he could not restore dial tone.Then I was told a supervisor would come to restore dial tone on Monday 8/24/20 No-one ever showed up my wife stayed home all day waiting, I called Tuesday and was told he as there yesterday?? now I know I am in trouble. We get phone, internet and cable TV from Optimum. We have had ongoing problems with all three. We lost service for a time on June 1st. When we called we were told that the earliest possible service date was on June 9th - more than a week later - between 5-8PM. We received a call at about 5:30 that afternoon saying that we should expect the team at about 7:30. That was two days ago - and it was the last we heard. No one showed up, no one called, no one tried to re-schedule and, for sure, no one apologized or did anything to try and fix the problem. I am currently on a chat with Optimum, and finally was contacted after waiting about an hour. No attempt to explain why no one showed, no "so sorry, we will reschedule you immediately". What I've gotten was something unintelligible about service fees and the statement "I do apologize but I am seeing there was no routes" - does that mean that no one was actually scheduled to show up in the first place ? But they "are happy to check" on available appointments no doubt sometime in early August. We have four people working from home here. Being w/o internet is tantamount to being unemployed. There is no alternative to Optimum that I know of other than Verizon Fios - and I haven't heard great things about them either. In effect this is a monopoly - why do we tolerate this ? The worst possible service, It is impossible to speak to representative, the Optimum wants you to use automotive system and when you request to speak with Customer Service rep the system doesn't give you this opportunity and you need to stay on the phone for hours until you are finally lucky, the chat system is good for nothing as well. When finally I was able to speak to the staff from Loyalty Dept re the services for my elderly father, the person was very nice and helpful, and explained that the technician should come to change the equipment. Appt was scheduled for technician between 11am and 2pm, the technician called after 2pm and told that he will arrive by 2:30pm, appointment was cancelled because my father can't open the door to stranger and I had a person who stayed with my father during the appointment window time. Appointment was rescheduled, I called Optimum to confirm and it took me more than an hour to contact the company. After confirmation... nobody came or called. I rescheduled an appt for the 3-rd time, still waiting. Don't use this company if it is possible. If you will have any problems you would need to spend a lot of time and effort to obtain information or get help. Optimum Altice One is the worst freaking business in the history of freaking businesses. Do not go ever with Optimum. I repeat. DO NOT USE INTERNET, PHONE, OR CABLE WITH OPTIMUM. THEY ARE THE WORST BUSINESS EVER. They are charging me $89.99 for internet Altice 1 gig when I asked for Altice 200 which is less qy $64.99. We originally had the Altice 200 when we opened it a month and a half ago and somehow it got switched to 1 gig with a higher price. Then when I call which i spent 8 hours yesterday waiting on hold all holding times because the people whonare there to help are too stupid to realize that the only switch that should be made is the 1 gig needs to go to 200 megs and the price needs to drop to the 64.99 which it originally was without changing anything else because I actually have a screenshot of what was promised to me. Everytime they transfer me to someone else i get "cut off" after waiting a few hours on the phone for them to pick up. The only reason I went with optimum is because we moved and they were the only ones to come in and do the install during these times so I gave them a shot and they are blowing it. I have to say this is by far the worst company . I set up first time on line and the person on internet stated I can pay over the phone or give money order . So when the tech came Micheal he stated it's only cash. I explain to him that wasn't told to me. Well the nice tech left without resolving the issue. Then I called the customer service and it took almost 1 hr to get someone on the phone.Then I set up installations again and tech came and did not leave any info like how to log in. My friend was here to be present for installation but didn't know the tech had to leave account info. Then I called again two days still can't get anyone on the phone . And when I called to set up the 2nd installation I was charged for installation fee even tho the tech was the one who messed up. As a new customer, quite honestly the worst experience I've ever had. Waited 9 hours for tech to come. Once he got there, work order was wrong, only had 1 cable box, ordered 2 has to come back tomorrow. He actually was the best part of this experience. Sales and customer service had the window of arrival wrong and could barely be understood because apparently they outsource these departments. Rep wouldn't escalate to supervisor because she felt 9 hours and wrong .equipment wasn't a good enough reason. Had to call 3 times on first day. Would not recommend!!! read more

This is a letter I'm sending to FCC, BBB optimum is the he worse. To Whom it may concern, I was previously a customer of Optimum/ Altice until 9/19/2020. Soon after the pandemic, and that I was working from home I saw that the wifi would not work in certain areas of my home, and where it did work it would randomly go in and out during the course of the day. At one-point optimum send a technician to install an extender, this did not help at all it actually caused it to go out more often. I also noticed being home more than some of the channels would work on some of the televisions and not work on others. Again, I called optimum the representative told me to go to one of the locations to see if I can get a new box, we went after waiting on line for over 45 min we were told we can not do that during this time. I, again, called optimum they repeated what they have done numerous times by sending a signal to the boxes, it still did not fix the issue. I called to cancel my service the customer service rep asked me to give it another chance and she set up an appointment for a technician to come to my home set for September 5, 2020, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, I took a personal day off from work to wait no one showed up. I called upset that no one showed and or even called to cancel, the representative understood and scheduled another appointment for the next day 9/6/2020 from 5:00 pm -8:00 pm once again no one showed up or called. After dealing with this for months and again needing good wifi since I was working from home and my daughter was having her classes on line, I called again they could not schedule a technician to come to my home till 9/21/2020 that was 2 1⁄2 weeks away. At this point, I called FIOS to hook my home up. After it was installed on 9/18/2020 I called optimum to cancel service. They stated I would have to pay from September 19, 2020, until October 15, 2020, because that's when the billing cycle ends, and that they cannot prorate. If Optimum was able to resolve the matter and or show up for scheduled appointments I would not have had to cancel. They were unable to and on a whole very difficult to even get a hold of a representative I spent many hours on hold. I honestly don't know how optimum is still in buisness. The internet stopped working. We unplugged/replugged and reset with no success. So we called the number to call when things like this happen. We called 5x in 24hrs and still have no internet, no idea when this will be resolved, no confidence in their ability to complete the simplictic of tasks, or to tell the truth to save their lives. We have however recieved a giant headache, and ZERO internet or help. We called 5x and have been told 5 different things. We were told they would call us back by the end of the day and did not. Then we were told a tech would come the following day between 10am and 5pm and did not. Then we asked to speak to a manager and were redirected to some other office that had nothing to do with a manager or sevice issues. NOW, we are being told a tech will come tomorrow between 10 am and 5pm. I'm not holding my breath that anyone will actually show up. Nobody seems to care to actually do their job at optimum. They are quick to apologize, but still refuse to follow through on what they tell u they will do, and consistentlywaste your time. Unfotunstly, this is not ther first time I have heard of this happening. If you are thinking of using this service, don't. The absolute worst. Long Island had a storm last Tuesday. I called Optimum because of a downed wire. My appt was 10 am - 8prm the following week. At 7;30 that evening, I called because no one had shown up. According to customer service the technician was here at 1pm, and notes that say the wire had been repaired. IT WAS NOT. Worst Customer Service EVER. I called in early late August to obtain new service. The gentlemen I spoke with went through all the options and pricing and when I was having a hard time deciding he said I am feeling generous I am going to waive the installation fee. The new service was installed and my bill arrived with a charge for installation. I called on 09/18 an and spoke to Monica explained my situation and was told she would call me back at the end of the day but that this was getting escalated to a manager so they could review the call which would take 24-48 hours. I received no phone call back and no credit on my account so I called again on 9/20 and spoke to Sklar and was told they need to review the call and I would hear back by 9/24. By 9/25 still no call no credit so I called again and spoke to Jose who told be to wait another 24-48 hours I called back on 9/27 and was told I need to speak to Sales since it was a sales issue. I was transferred and spoke to Carla who said she would issue the credit because she believed me and it would appear on my bill in 72 hours. By 10/01 still no credit I called an spoke to Daniel and was told I needed to talk to sales, frustrated and tired of spend enormous amounts of time on this I hung up. I called today at 1:56pm and spoke to Emmanuel who said he could see my account was marked at of 10/01 an the credit would take up to 74 hours (74 hours is a ridiculously odd time frame). I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told I COULD NOT speak to a supervisor because there was an open case and was told AGAIN I need to wait. Prior to this call you sent me a customer service survey which I completed and stated my frustration and wanted a phone call, no response no phone call. To date I have spent over two weeks and almost 2 hours of my time trying to Optimum to honor what I was told. Switching over to Cablevision was a nightmare and the biggest mistake my recommendation is not to use them they came to my home on a Monday the technician cut my second phone line and disconnected my home entertainment system so by Monday evening the nightmare began numerous phone calls to no avail and after the fourth day finally getting to talk to someone only to be put on hold for one hour and then being connected to the most arrogant man imaginable at this point I became so disgusted and discouraged that I hung up the phone and called my previous provider and went back and the reason again why I originally went to Cablevision was because of all of the promises of certain stations that were never gotten so if you're thinking of going to Cablevision think twice because their service sucks and it will take you days before you can speak to someone and then get aggravated as far as speaking to a supervisor that's another joke the woman claimed that all of their supervisors were in a meeting really at 8:30 PM definitely not a way to keep not only a new client but any customer read more

On January 21, 2020 I moved my TV / Cable service from Optimum to Altice. No issue with the TV Service HOWEVER EVERY month since January 21, 2020 I have been on the phone for no less than 1/2 hour trying to speak with a Supervisor about my Bill. My Monthly billing since the change is #138.00.I have paid this company $681 since January and they tell me I still owe them $434. How is that possible. Optimum shut down my service for absolutely no reason in the middle of the NCAA championship game. After 2 hours on the phone they got my service back on, the game was already over. No one even apologized, I work from home so I Gaga e to have internet service. I got a request to fill out a survey and I gave a very detailed explanation, which no one responded to. I decided that they don't care about me as a customer, so I switched to Fios, now they expect me to pay for service I have no way of using for a month. Chat doesn't recognize my simple inquiry of "cable wall jack installation" Opted for a call back instead of waiting longer on the phone, assuming I would get a call back when someone was available to help me, nope, was put on hold for 20minutes, ON THE CALL BACK! Finally someone was there only to put me on hold for another 20 minutes after first telling me "I don't even know if we do wall jack installations, WTF? We can't even get service installed. We had everything good to go at installation until the tech said he needed to go to the roof. Building has no roof access after 5pm on Saturday. Never told roof access was necessary. Tech uninstalled equipment and we had to make a new appointment. Installer never showed up. Waited all day! Third appointment was confirmed but company put in as repair. Tech had no boxes. But we also had an install appointment. Company cancelled both appointments without notification, then called and and said they were coming, but never showed for installation. My dad needs the internet for medical purposes. We explained this multiple times, but nobody cares. We were lied to time and time again. Told installer is on the way, but never shows up. Had special after 5 access to roof; tech states he came but had no access - lie! Company cancels appointments without notification. Can't speak to Supervisor. Cablevision's customer services highly lacks of self-respect. They are the worst, 2hrs and 45 mins of wait times to speak to a representative and then wait 30 mins more to be transferred to another rep. who is totally rude and disrespectful. The service reps will not allow you to express your concerns and needs and will speak over you in an inappropriate tone of voice. According to customer service reps if you call to cancel services the cancellation will be effective at the end of the billing cycle (you will have to pay the months' worth of the bill even though you cancel on day 1 of the month and the cycle ends at end of month- thieves!!). When you ask to speak to a supervisor the customer service agents transfer you to another agent who will not identify themselves as such unless you ask. Be very specific when asking.. They slowly and progressively increase the bill each cycle and services remain the same. This company deserves a ZERO in terms of customer service, a sky high difference when compared to other service providers such as T-mobile, Verizon, etc. Perhaps Cablevision management should think about having their staff trained with these businesses who do have outstanding customer service and understand how to make a company grow by providing satisfaction to their clients. We called Optimum about a interruption in our phone service, they sent a technician to our home. He did not thoroughly investigate the cause. He plugged the main telephone line into the modem and got a dial tone. We were charged $80. + tax for a indoor service. One month later we found out that the line was not fixed as, the phone lines outside of the house were chewed up. Our alarm company was not getting our phone signal..The Optimum serviceman never even looked outside to see if that was the origin of the problem. If he had done his job it would have been fixed correctly, we wouldn't of been charged for a service call and been without our alarm system. We tried numerous times to explain the situation to various customer service reps. Each time we got the same response, "you had no phone and then you did after he left. You owe us $80." No amount of explaining that if the service technician had done his job properly, I would had a phone line at no charge. Instead, our alarm system had to do Optimum's job and rewire the outside phone lines. Monthly bill keeps going up and up and is now over $50 for basic cable plus dvr. Over 3 weeks of calls and 4 tech appointments have not resolved the problem with a non-working dvr cable box. Techs have shown up with either no new box or the wrong box. Although I was assured that I was a VALUED longstanding customer, they had to set up a 5TH appointment, but cannot guarantee that the tech department will get it right. I would rate them a zero star if I could. After being a loyal Optimum customer for 25+ years, I am posting a negative review. I have been and am currently paying a $250 monthly fee for substandard TV service. A week ago I decided to switch to the so called forever rate and scheduled a date for the installation of the new and cancellation of my existing service under my new spouse's name. After finding out that the new service would require running new internal cable which wasn't physically possible in my home, I cancelled the request 5 days in advance. Unfortunately, that wasn't sufficient so Optimum decided to cancel my service immediately and delete all of my DVR recordings. I spoke with Frank, Juana, Dianna and numerous other people and getting disconnected in the process. I'm hoping but not optimistic that this situation will be fixed. Fran solicited my home to sell Altice One (Internet/Cable/Phone service). Her alleged supervisor Joe joined her about 20 mins later. They explained (and provided a flyer with a sticker) saying No Longer Optimum. However, they provided a phone # for Joe's apparent supervisor, which was clearly Optimum#. Fran was selling, the same promotion on Optimum website and TV. I don't know if they purposely deceived me, because when I called Optimum or watch commercial that is still their name. to think they were the same company. In addition, they misled me with the initial low price, but my final total for 3 TVs a very basic package for 3 TVs was 2 1/2 times higher. Fran was overly aggressive to get into my home and tell me how I would save money, even though I said No, over and over again. When Joe came, I told her I didn't want him in the house, she disregarded that and let him in my house. She said it would be 10 mins for them to sign me up; they were in my home about 2 hours, without getting my business. When they came up with the higher final price, I asked for Joe's supervisors name he lied and said he didn't have supervisor and then decided it was time for him to go. I walked in front of him to get pen/paper to write the supervisor name and number, and Joe threatened me that he would call the police. I contacted the # and you are not able to speak to a person with the information Joe gave me for his supervisor, which was just the main # for Optimum. I tried a variety of Optimum numbers; unfortunately I couldn't get past voice prompts and couldn't speak to customer service, operator, manager. Fran left a business card and said she is always available to help. When I called, she hung up on me. I called back several times, as she had not set up voice mail, she answered finally and told me that if I called her again, her husband was a big time lawyer and she would file harassment charges against me, which was ironic, since they had harassed me for the 2 hrs and Joe threatened he would call the police! I was told they would have the supervisor call me the next day. Needless to say, no one ever called me. The altercation was extremely emotional, and left me overly anxious, literally shaking and very upset. I was bullied, harassed, lied to, and misled in my own home. Also I was embarrassed that I trusted Fran, an older woman, to come into my home and didn't kick them out after Joe entered. I couldn't sleep that evening and I am still upset 2 days later.
