Cabin 5

We stayed in a cabin as part of a wedding party. The entire lot is so beautiful with lots of things to do (fire pits, tetherball, light hiking). The cabins are so cozy and cute with adequate amenities to make a meal or some morning coffee. There was staff nearby if we needed help but they were in no way hovering or intrusive. It was a wonderful stay and we can't wait to go back!

We were at this venue for a wedding, November 2022. Absolutely beautiful!!!! I would highly recommend this venue.

We just had our wedding here this past weekend and could not wait to write a review! Cabins on Strawberry Hill exceeded all expectations. The owners were fantastic and always put us at ease when answering any last minute questions. They were always willing to help out and genuinely wanted us to have a good time. Having the entire venue for the whole weekend was perfect. All of the amenities provided gave all our guests the opportunity to be entertained. I cannot wait to come back in the near future to enjoy this place again. Thank you for making our wedding weekend so special.

Foggy day, empty cabins
Whitney L.

Pros: good location, secluded, water got warm quickly, dog friendly, free fire wood Con's: furniture was incredibly uncomfortable, very outdated inside, one of the two space heaters worked, no shampoo/conditioner in bathroom for shower, entrance to cabins is unlit so we missed the turn in twice at night (right before mile marker 271!) Probably wouldnt stay again.

My husband and I had our wedding here on October 5, 2021. Our experience was nothing short of amazing. Rick, Jason, and Amanda made the experience so easy and were so accommodating. We had had the venue booked since February 2020 and they did an awesome job of staying in contact and answering all the questions I had along the way. The property is BEAUTIFUL and the cabins were all stocked with the necessities and super clean! Of course, our wedding day was the only day of the week that there was expected to be thunderstorms...and there were! However, Rick went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable with the adjusted setup and did everything he could to make sure everything ran smoothly...it was perfect! The day after, their crews helped us clean up what wasn't cleaned up the night before and we were able to check out on time. Seriously, every person at the Cabins on Strawberry Hill is so kind, helpful, and understanding. 12/10 would recommend having your wedding here and don't worry if it rains..Rick has your back and it makes for some pretty epic photos! I could write a novel about how great this place is. The owners really take excellent care of the property. I live in Phoenix and took a trip to the resort when searching for a wedding venue. As a native, I was surprised at how I have never heard of the town of Strawberry. Upon arriving, I instantly fell in love and knew that I found the perfect venue. Aside from the lush views and groomed landscaping, the owners are the nicest and most down-to-earth people I have ever met in my life. I primarily communicated with Jason but everyone I met was so kind and made the overall process very easy. This family-owned resort has a lot of fun amenities for everyone to enjoy. My family enjoyed playing basketball, tetherball, Ping-Pong, and the playground area. They also enjoyed hiking as well. We stayed for a total of three nights and that did not feel like a long enough time to enjoy everything the cabins had to offer. The resort makes for a great family getaway for a wedding as well because we're able to do a resort takeover. Friday night, the two families were able to have a nice picnic-style dinner under string lighting and make s'mores around the fire pit afterward. There was enough lighting to still enjoy everyone's company and still play a few games of Ping-Pong as well. Since most of my wedding guests knew each other, it was nice to let the kids run around and have sleep overs in different cabins. My actual wedding day was the best day I ever had and a large part of that is due to the venue. The weather, amazing views, and tranquility along with the company of family and close friends made everything special. Further, before we departed, Jason was kind enough to stop to congratulate us on our union and just showed how much he truly cared and appreciated us. We definitely plan on coming back for our one-year anniversary. Thank you again for such a great weekend!

Zoro the Cat! Beautiful and very friendly!

We just celebrated our daughter and new son in law's wedding this past weekend here. The weather was perfect, the cabins were very cozy and just right! The A frames look small but really Are spacious and have everything you need during your stay. We used all the cabins for the wedding and our guests were very impressed with the cabins, the location and facilities they offer. The owners are very friendly, down to earth and immediately had answers for any questions we had and was very accommodating in all we needed. We invited them to come to the reception and join us in our festivities- we got to meet their children and they loved dancing on the dance floor. They were adorable! If You are looking for a wedding venue, look no further! This is an amazing and beautiful place! I even got to see some of the friendly wildlife (from a distance, of course!) plus, Zoro the cat was a hoot with his wandering and curious behavior!

My partner and I booked 2 nights in the cabins and were very impressed. Check in was easy, informative, and was welcomed by a very nice man. When we approached the cabin I was very impressed that I think they look even nicer than they do in the photos. The place was very nice inside except for some trash found under the bed but that's life. We truly enjoyed this getaway, enjoyed a nice hike off the property and even though there are no fires allowed this summer, the stove made a great substitute for roasting marshmallows using the roasting sticks they provide . We will definitely come back again. It was just what we needed to get out of the justly and bustle of Phoenix! Thank you guys for a great stay!!!

Very clean, comfy cabin in a lush, green forest setting. We spent 5 nights in June 2016. We are a couple over age 50 with 2 small dogs, and ALL 4 of us were content. The kitchen and bathroom were better stocked than ANY of the 1-month house rentals that we've had elsewhere. You will have some road noise but hey, to get total quiet you'd have to pay double or triple at a luxury resort. But at least here, you don't share any walls with your neighbors. If you've ever stayed in a hotel with noisy neighbors, you'll really like having a cabin here. The WiFi worked perfectly and we streamed a movie every night on our laptop. No issues. Check the weather before you pack. We stayed during the record heat wave, and it took a full 24 hours before we could get our cabin cool. We packed too many jeans and not enough tank tops and shorts. Nobody dresses up in the little towns here, so pack extra casual. The buildings and grounds are very well tended. Lots of grass for the dogs, and everybody who brought dogs picked up after them. We loved it that the owners make the rules clear about pets. Thank heavens, you won't step in a pile here. If you have kids, there is something for them to do here, and they'll never ever get bored. But if you DON'T have kids, get a cabin away from the playground, or else you'll probably hear kids yelling and squeals of delight. Kids are so happy here. In fact, we felt like big kids and joined the fun a few times. We will be back. 2 thumbs and 2 paws up!

My husband and I had our wedding here April 2018 and the Cabins on Strawberry Hill was the absolute perfect places. All three of the owners were awesome to work with, so accommodating, straightforward and were committed to making sure everything went well. They truly went above and beyond for us. We were able to have the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and allllll of our guests stay in one spot for the ENTIRE weekend. Everyone loved having a weekend getaway and not having to worry about anything logistical. The property is absolutely gorgeous, so affordable, such great weather...I can't speak highly enough about them and our experience planning a wedding here.

Annual trip to #cabinsonstrawberryhill. Greatest place

We come to Cabins on Strawberry Hill every year and love every minute of it. Jason, Amanda and Rick are great owners and host. They update the cabins and we enjoy the activities of badminton, horseshoes and basketball.

Loft. No A/C

We were so excited to finally get away as we had just moved to Arizona and were exhausted. After a grueling drive which included our engine light coming on and our A/C (110 degrees outside) faultering we finally made it. Side note...a shout out to Strawberry Auto Care as they were amazing and fix the car problem right away. I waited awhile to write this so it would not be done in anger. I just want people to use caution. The reason for the 1 star is as follows. Positives first. The grounds are very clean and make a good first impression. Nice check-in person. Lots of green grass and rest areas with picnic tables and chairs. Kids playground is great and even the fake flowers in the big pots look good! Cabins look nice and clean from outside. A very pretty green color. I saw a beautiful huge Elk. ( or something like that). I could bring my dog. Watch the gravel, very sharp and she couldn't walk on it. The Cons. ** It is right next to the highway! ** The Pictures on the site didn't look anything like our cabin!! The cabin was very dark with only one window. The 2nd was way up at the top of the ceiling and would need a cherry picker to reach it to open the blind. ** It is NOT an air conditioned cabin. The only A/C is in the living room. There is a hole cut into the wall and the unit was installed in there. When you park the other half of the A/C is sticking outside next to the parking space blowing hot air. None of the bedrooms have A/C. It was over 105 degrees outside while we were there. Imagine that! ** The A/C and TV were next to each other so if you wanted to hear the TV you had to turn the A/C off. Very very noisy and way too hot to do that. ** Living room. An uncomfortable futon and a chair. One lamp and end tale. The lamp shade was so big there was hardly any visible light. Very dusty. ** The kitchen- No drawers. That's a first. Everything was underneath an overhanging counter way back inside cabinets. Forget it if you have a bad back. We ended up putting the plates, silverware etc on the counter. ** Lightening- Terrible. They used rose flush ceiling lights and stuck them on the walls. Why? There were 2 "chandeliers" next to each other that had fluorescent bulbs. The glare was awful. ** Bedroom- NO lamps or end tables. Another ceiling light stuck on the wall. Why do they do that?? We were resourceful though. We got 2 wooden stools from the living room, found a gooseneck lamp upstairs and I used my reading headlamp (that elastic thing with a light that you wear on your head). At least we had a place to put a glass of water. The did have a fan in the closet (no doors) that you could use although there is no place to put it. ** Bathroom- it was ok although the hot water heater next to the toilet was pretty funny! Towels were frayed and had some stains. Lipstick? Don't miss the little rolled up towel with instructions. It's really one-of-a-kind. ** Loft- unusable. It was an incinerator up there with a small window with one of those window fans that turns the fans when there is a breeze. ** The signage. This part just cracks me up. They are everywhere in every shape and size. About 9 or 10. More rules than my Grandmas house! ** The "Rule Book". Make sure to read their book, you don't want to get in trouble. Summary- They are not truthful on their website and should be ashamed for that type of behavior. Fix these issues!

Playground was a big hit!

Perfect family getaway. Our family (2 adults, 4yr old and 9 month old) stayed in a single bedroom cabin (#13) which was fairly nice and simple. Full kitchen was a great feature. The bathroom was a bit tight, no biggie. This isn't a resort so book with that in mind. It's a beautiful place with gorgeous, well-maintained grounds, fun for the kids with a playground, and other fun games. I recommend staying in cabins with the back facing the grassy area. Ours was on a side with rocks and a drop off, not ideal for small kiddos. Also, the bedroom gets a bit hot. I noticed that our cabin got a lot of afternoon sun (the only one in our row) so the fans were essential at night. Staff is very friendly. Overall satisfied. It's a beautiful, quaint area. We had a nice time and would recommend it.

We loved our stay at the Strawberry Inn! Such a perfect getaway…read more I'll preface by saying there were only 2 of us so take that into account. Stayed here for the first time in March 2026. We stayed in Airstream #4 and it was perfect. Very private and a nice view. There are some homes nearby but nothing super close. Loved the chairs, fire table, and the hot tub! Even had elk and deer walk right by the campsite while we were there, it's awesome! The inside of the Airstream was nice! Queen size bed, super comfy. Spacious enough with a couch and mini kitchen and fridge. Even had a TV and wifi. The bathroom does not have a door - so if you're coming with friends, beware! There is a Keurig too. I do wish the properties were spaced out from each other more. You are very close to the other rentals. Especially walking around. Saw tons of families so kids definitely could make the trip. You can easily walk up to Windmill Coffee or the PIEbar! Definitely recommend both. The communication with the staff and concierge was very easy and quick responses. We didn't have any issues during our stay. Truly felt like we were able to step away and be on our getaway. It's such a quiet and peaceful area. Couldn't recommend the Strawberry Inn more! We absolutely loved our stay and can't wait to come back!

One week prior to my check-in 30 days after she had received payment in full while I was very ill…read moreshe sent me emails requiring a signed lease. Without the lease I would not be able to check in. Even though I agreed to all terms and conditions on VRBO she still harassed me until I printed and mailed her a signed lease. She told me over the telephone when I requested a late check out on Sunday morning that I was the worst patron she has ever experienced. That she was going to charge me $150 because my request at 8:30 AM was not early enough for a 1 o'clock check out. We had to vacate property by 11 AM. Even though I requested a later check out three hours prior to. One of my guests batteries were dead on the car and we were unable to leave the property until 12:20. She charged me $150 for this. The following day while I was still with all of my guests from the wedding she sent me a text message informing me that her housekeeper said that I left the home unlocked. I know for sure that I put the board back in her Arcadia door that was her method of securing the home. The air-conditioner no longer works but the owner said she is planning on installing five new units in each bedroom. The coffee pot did not work I had to purchase one from Walmart in Payson. There was not a broom in the home for me to clean up after I did all of the florals for my son's wedding. One third of my flowers died due to the heat and stuffiness in the home. Half of the windows did not have screens so we were unable to leave them open. I was told to use the vacuum to clean up all of the dead florals. The water in the master bedroom shower is plumbed backwards so if you put it to hot water you're going to get a cold shower. The master bedroom loft handrailing is very unsafe. None of my guests went up there. It is secured with a 2 inch L bracket. I will submit photos on yelp. My daughter slept in the basement and had to pull out the trundle bed. She has an immense amount of bug bites. We are unsure if they are spider bites or bed bugs. We packaged all of our belongings and treated them as if there was a bedbug contamination because my daughter never gets bitten. Nobody else in the house had any bites except for my daughter and she does not get bitten by mosquitoes. She had to go to urgent care on Monday because she had over 20 bug bites and they were swollen and did not look right. She is being treated with anabiotic's. I Will never return to this property.

Our first time in Pine and excited to stay at this lodge even though only one night was available…read moreduring our trip. We planned to enjoy their views, a sandwich and glass of wine from their cafe/wine bar and perhaps a friendly conversation with a fellow guest. Sadly it was a big disappointment. The lodge is pretty, but ended up a strange place to stay because it was essentially closed to us. We booked online what was stated as the last of 8 rooms and paid their extra $35 to check-in 2 hours early. Their "SIP" cafe/wine bar is advertised as open to the public. We arrived at 2:30 pm only to find the cafe/wine bar was closed. Shortly after, from our balcony we noticed a man was on the property moving chairs and went downstairs to speak with him. The lodge appeared, sounded and felt completely empty so we asked him if anyone else was there to help us in the cafe. He said no one else was on the property and that the cafe was definitely closed and that he was "only there to set up for a private event for which the entire lodge had been booked." Huh? First we heard of this. At 3:35 pm I phoned their after-hours number and spoke with an owner Lisa who confirmed the lodge had been booked for a private group. She said the cafe had stayed open late for that group and should I have called 15 minutes prior someone in the cafe could have helped me. She also said they can't commit to hours of operation in the cafe because they have trouble keeping staff. Huh? Their website advertises outdoor cafe/wine bar seating that is open to the public and to lodging guests and it advertises outdoor games. However, the seating and games area appeared to be cordoned off for the private event. The cafe/wine bar hours posted on their website, in front of the cafe and in the room are all confusingly different and misleading. Nothing about our stay was relaxing. It was a terrible nights sleep and other than a midnight arrival in the room next door it seemed no one else was there. The lodge felt like a ghost town. By 7 am the parking lot was still empty, by 8:30 am there were a few cars and a couple people in front of the cafe. We thought we were booking a room at a lodge where other guests would be among us--not a private Airbnb. This lodge should never have taken our room reservation without first informing us that they rented out everything else to a private group. This place is pretty but also pretty strange. It was the most inhospitable hospitality environment we have ever not enjoyed. The owner was rudely indifferent. We definitely were not welcomed in the space. Not a good value for our $272 booking. Perhaps if you're a private room block group the place will be open and you'll receive some attention. We highly don't recommend it.

I will need to say that I'm not going to mark this 1 star since we did like the place and a great…read moretown. fantastic contractors coming to keep the place nice and tidy and they do a great job. So no complaints all of that. Very nice people as well.   Our family were long-term tenants. at least since the beginning of the summer waiting for an adoption to complete with a foster child. I would say is if anyone would ever consider being long-term here, make sure that you go through the lease and make sure the landlord understand what he has each party sign. We were told (in the lease) we can give 30 day notice on each month to month scenario however when we gave 30-day notices for any given up coming month, we were being double-booked and literally our whole family had to move out just to accommodate a weekend.  We're foster parents working on an adoption of our 1 year old foster child, so we need to stay in the area until our adoption is done so we just kind of kept moving out and moving back in as these situations came up.. in hindsight legally I could have made an issue because the lease is given to the state and we need to obtain permission to go on these trips when in reality we're being booted. But we decided to just go with it at a respect and make the best of it.  the owner is a little old school and very busy and does lack some communication. And trying to point out something that was either written or talked about that he had forgotten he won't admit. He did say he was going to go back and look at the lease but never did hear anything. Basically a simple apology was lacking and would probably solve a whole lot of relational PR. I would just recommend to do your due diligence and stay on top of communication and always always always in writing. I even gave him many opportunities to communicate this with nothing. I even sent him copies of the lease. Nothing really ever came from those attempts to clean up any confusion. Once we were able to find a new place in our licensing jurisdiction, We decided to move out of respect of the situation. Also to lessen any tension that would ever be in the future due to lack of proper PR or even just simple honoring the lease or any other agreements. In fact we just had to smile because we were told we had to be out by Christmas since it's very busy at one point, then the 28th and now just finally told we could have stayed to the end of the month.:-) LOL so we had already made plans to be out early. We never ever pushed back when we were told these things even though we should have. So if anything hopefully this will help anyone who would find themselves in our situation.  Nice guy though and we did get along and it was fun to do some work around the place. I fixed a few things in the cabin even so it's sad that we had to leave. We really liked the place and gave him an opportunity to admit the lease and also to raise prices to be fair to him. But never heard anything back.  I'm a past business owner myself and I know the importance of good PR especially with your guests as we were renting guests. I don't want to take from all the five stars because they're short term and it's a great place to stay for that. But hopefully this will help anyone else and maybe needing or asking for long-term.
