The Cabins at Strawberry Hill is an absolute MUST wedding venue! We booked our wedding almost two years in advance, and from the moment we toured the property, Rick completely sold us on the vision and he did not disappoint. Our entire wedding weekend was truly magical. One of the biggest highlights is that you get all 14 cabins on-site for your guests, which makes the experience feel like a private mountain retreat with all your favorite people. Waking up in the morning and seeing wildlife, elk and deer roaming the property was such a special touch that you just can't get anywhere else. The property itself is breathtaking from every angle. The new ceremony overlook site is absolutely stunning, offering views that make your "I do" moment feel unreal. And the string lights that stretch from cabin to cabin and over the dance floor completely transform the space at night. It's magical, warm, and gives off that perfect cozy Hallmark movie vibe. They also provide a super helpful wedding portal for communication. It lays out a clear timeline of all the tasks that need to be completed, each with a deadline, which makes it so easy to stay on track and feel organized throughout the planning process. We used their recommended food vendor, Marcus at Gibson's Smokehouse, who was incredible--the food was amazing. Just had my wedding here last weekend and all I can say is WOW! To have the cabins all close to share with our friends and family was perfect! The cabins are so cozy and cute with adequate amenities to make a meal or some morning coffee. There was staff nearby if we needed help but they were in no way hovering or intrusive. We had had the venue booked since February 2020 and they did an awesome job of staying in contact and answering all the questions I had along the way. The property is BEAUTIFUL and the cabins were all stocked with the necessities and super clean! Of course, our wedding day was the only day of the week that there was expected to be thunderstorms...and there were! However, Rick went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable with the adjusted setup and did everything he could to make sure everything ran smoothly...it was perfect! The day after, their crews helped us clean up what wasn't cleaned up the night before and we were able to check out on time. I could write a novel about how great this place is. The owners really take excellent care of the property. I live in Phoenix and took a trip to the resort when searching for a wedding venue. As a native, I was surprised at how I have never heard of the town of Strawberry. Upon arriving, I instantly fell in love and knew that I found the perfect venue. Aside from the lush views and groomed landscaping, the owners are the nicest and most down-to-earth people I have ever met in my life. I primarily communicated with Jason but everyone I met was so kind and made the overall process very easy. This family-owned resort has a lot of fun amenities for everyone to enjoy. My family enjoyed playing basketball, tetherball, Ping-Pong, and the playground area. They also enjoyed hiking as well. We stayed for a total of three nights and that did not feel like a long enough time to enjoy everything the cabins had to offer. The resort makes for a great family getaway for a wedding as well because we're able to do a resort takeover. Friday night, the two families were able to have a nice picnic-style dinner under string lighting and make s'mores around the fire pit afterward. There was enough lighting to still enjoy everyone's company and still play a few games of Ping-Pong as well. Since most of my wedding guests knew each other, it was nice to let the kids run around and have sleep overs in different cabins. My actual wedding day was the best day I ever had and a large part of that is due to the venue. The weather, amazing views, and tranquility along with the company of family and close friends made everything special. Further, before we departed, Jason was kind enough to stop to congratulate us on our union and just showed how much he truly cared and appreciated us. We just celebrated our daughter and new son in law's wedding this past weekend here. The weather was perfect, the cabins were very cozy and just right! The A frames look small but really Are spacious and have everything you need during your stay. We used all the cabins for the wedding and our guests were very impressed with the cabins, the location and facilities they offer. The owners are very friendly, down to earth and immediately had answers for any questions we had and was very accommodating in all we needed. We invited them to come to the reception and join us in our festivities- we got to meet their children and they loved dancing on the dance floor. They were adorable! My partner and I booked 2 nights in the cabins and were very impressed. Check in was easy, informative, and was welcomed by a very nice man. When we approached the cabin I was very impressed that I think they look even nicer than they do in the photos. The place was very nice inside except for some trash found under the bed but that's life. We truly enjoyed this getaway, enjoyed a nice hike off the property and even though there are no fires allowed this summer, the stove made a great substitute for roasting marshmallows using the roasting sticks they provide . Beautiful scenery in a semi-secluded environment here. The Cabins on Strawberry Hill allow you to enjoy the great outdoors while still being close enough to stores that you can feel connected to nature while still enjoying more of the creature comforts of civilization. We stayed here for a weekend. The cabin we stayed in was a two-story with a loft, futon, and small kitchen. There were two queen sized beds, one in the bedroom and one upstairs in the loft. While the amenities aren't the newest or the best, overall it was a decent cabin to stay in. The biggest negative I had was that the window up in the loft had a window fan installed on it, with mesh bordering the sides. The mesh and the fan vents were big enough that bugs and flies could get inside and perch (And die) right on the loft bed, right where the pillows were. I didn't relish the idea of bugs landing on my face while I slept so we ended up sleeping on the full-sized futon downstairs. The other couple we stayed with said the bed in their bedroom was lumpy and it was hard for them to get a good night's sleep. The bathroom was tiny but functional. There were signs of odd patch jobs in the shower, and there was exposed open parts of the tile work along the wall where the shower controls were. The toilet had signs of age, as the seat was worn down enough that there were exposed parts of the wooden base from where the seat cover contacted against the seat when closed. As for complimentary items, they include 2 bars of soap. The kitchen has a small fridge with freezer, stove, and sink. Note that there is no oven (We made that mistake and brought a take and bake pizza that we ended up grilling outside instead). Pots, pans, dishes, and silverware are included. As for other amenities, basic cable is included (With an equally basic TV), and wifi is spotty. I was able to get 3G on my phone, but others weren't able to access information on their phones nor surf the web on their laptops. So if you are technologically addicted, this might not be your ideal place. The parking is to the side in the space right next to your cabin and the adjacent cabin, in a graveled area. It's enough space for 2 sedans or 1 larger vehicle (SUV, truck, etc.). For heat and A/C, there's the window fan in the loft, an evaporative cooler on the ground floor, and ceiling fans. There's a fireplace and free firewood to use when it's cooler. The outside area has easy access to hiking trails, and has a playground with tether ball area, volleyball court, and a horseshoe area. Gas and charcoal grills are available for use, as well as a large fire pit. One of the reasons we chose to stay here was because they are dog friendly. For an extra $10 per dog per night you can bring your four legged friend on your adventure up north. Our dogs had a great time in the cooler temperatures and clear mountain air. However, note that if you stay upstairs in the loft, smaller dogs probably won't be able to get up and down the stairs safely due to the slight slippery feel of the wooden stairs and the spacing of the steps. It's not the most luxurious stay (We're not talking glamping here), but it's a pretty decent place especially if you want to bring your dogs with you. The town of Strawberry has a lot of cute antiques and specialty food stores (Tea, honey, etc.) to browse though, and if hiking's more of your pleasure, there are plenty of trails to go to. Very clean, comfy cabin in a lush, green forest setting. We spent 5 nights in June 2016. We are a couple over age 50 with 2 small dogs, and ALL 4 of us were content. The kitchen and bathroom were better stocked than ANY of the 1-month house rentals that we've had elsewhere. You will have some road noise but hey, to get total quiet you'd have to pay double or triple at a luxury resort. But at least here, you don't share any walls with your neighbors. If you've ever stayed in a hotel with noisy neighbors, you'll really like having a cabin here. The WiFi worked perfectly and we streamed a movie every night on our laptop. No issues. Check the weather before you pack. We stayed during the record heat wave, and it took a full 24 hours before we could get our cabin cool. We packed too many jeans and not enough tank tops and shorts. Nobody dresses up in the little towns here, so pack extra casual. The buildings and grounds are very well tended. Lots of grass for the dogs, and everybody who brought dogs picked up after them. We loved it that the owners make the rules clear about pets. Thank heavens, you won't step in a pile here. If you have kids, there is something for them to do here, and they'll never ever get bored. But if you DON'T have kids, get a cabin away from the playground, or else you'll probably hear kids yelling and squeals of delight. Kids are so happy here. We just came back from a trip here and had an incredible experience! This is a great getaway for families, with a lot of on-site activities to keep the kids entertained. The playground was a hit, along with the basketball court and cornhole setup. The hiking trail right off of the resort had gorgeous views, and we even spotted some elk on our first night there! The campfire pit was a great way to end the night, roasting marshmallows with the skewers provided by the cabins, and plenty of firewood to keep it going. The cabin itself had all the amenities we needed, and a fully stocked kitchenette, which was great for cooking dinners for our large group. We're already planning our next trip back. We were so excited to finally get away as we had just moved to Arizona and were exhausted. After a grueling drive which included our engine light coming on and our A/C (110 degrees outside) faultering we finally made it. Side note...a shout out to Strawberry Auto Care as they were amazing and fix the car problem right away. I waited awhile to write this so it would not be done in anger. I just want people to use caution. The reason for the 1 star is as follows. Positives first. The grounds are very clean and make a good first impression. Nice check-in person. Lots of green grass and rest areas with picnic tables and chairs. Kids playground is great and even the fake flowers in the big pots look good! Cabins look nice and clean from outside. A very pretty green color. I saw a beautiful huge Elk. ( or something like that). I could bring my dog. Watch the gravel, very sharp and she couldn't walk on it. The Cons. ** It is right next to the highway! ** The Pictures on the site didn't look anything like our cabin!! The cabin was very dark with only one window. The 2nd was way up at the top of the ceiling and would need a cherry picker to reach it to open the blind. ** It is NOT an air conditioned cabin. The only A/C is in the living room. There is a hole cut into the wall and the unit was installed in there. When you park the other half of the A/C is sticking outside next to the parking space blowing hot air. None of the bedrooms have A/C. It was over 105 degrees outside while we were there. Imagine that! ** The A/C and TV were next to each other so if you wanted to hear the TV you had to turn the A/C off. Very very noisy and way too hot to do that. ** Living room. An uncomfortable futon and a chair. One lamp and end tale. The lamp shade was so big there was hardly any visible light. Very dusty. ** The kitchen- No drawers. That's a first. Everything was underneath an overhanging counter way back inside cabinets. Forget it if you have a bad back. We ended up putting the plates, silverware etc on the counter. ** Lightening- Terrible. They used rose flush ceiling lights and stuck them on the walls. Why? There were 2 "chandeliers" next to each other that had fluorescent bulbs. The glare was awful. ** Bedroom- NO lamps or end tables. Another ceiling light stuck on the wall. Why do they do that?? We were resourceful though. We got 2 wooden stools from the living room, found a gooseneck lamp upstairs and I used my reading headlamp (that elastic thing with a light that you wear on your head). At least we had a place to put a glass of water. The did have a fan in the closet (no doors) that you could use although there is no place to put it. ** Bathroom- it was ok although the hot water heater next to the toilet was pretty funny! Towels were frayed and had some stains. Lipstick? Don't miss the little rolled up towel with instructions. It's really one-of-a-kind. ** Loft- unusable. It was an incinerator up there with a small window with one of those window fans that turns the fans when there is a breeze. ** The signage. This part just cracks me up. They are everywhere in every shape and size. About 9 or 10. More rules than my Grandmas house! ** The "Rule Book". Make sure to read their book, you don't want to get in trouble. Summary- They are not truthful on their website and should be ashamed for that type of behavior. Fix these issues! read more

My husband even remarked that if it weren't for our obligations waiting for us at home we would have tried booking an extra night! Perfect family getaway. Our family (2 adults, 4yr old and 9 month old) stayed in a single bedroom cabin (#13) which was fairly nice and simple. Full kitchen was a great feature. The bathroom was a bit tight, no biggie. This isn't a resort so book with that in mind. It's a beautiful place with gorgeous, well-maintained grounds, fun for the kids with a playground, and other fun games. I recommend staying in cabins with the back facing the grassy area. Ours was on a side with rocks and a drop off, not ideal for small kiddos. Also, the bedroom gets a bit hot. I noticed that our cabin got a lot of afternoon sun (the only one in our row) so the fans were essential at night. Staff is very friendly. Overall satisfied. It's a beautiful, quaint area. A dream wedding at a budget. That was our mission. A beautiful forest backdrop, outside venue, variety of spots for photos, and most importantly the flexibility to design the wedding we wanted. The Cabins on Strawberry Hill met us all the way and then much more. Rick and Jay (the owners) started their business with the right mission in mind. They give their all to ensure that every guest feels exceptional and has ample opportunity to make the most of their experience. Most importantly they are available to assist, to give feedback and recommendations, and provide services needed (and even those services not noticed). We had planned to find a venue that could; provide a beautiful backdrop of the lush forest, could provide for an open/outdoor wedding, had ample services/vendor options, was closed or made private, gave us a lot of time (i.e. more than 3 hours), allowed us to design the wedding, and could accommodate guests staying onsite or nearby. In Arizona there are relatively few options for forest backdrop venues. Those with the options take full advantage with enormous price packages, limited services and event length, and many restrictions. The morning we found the Cabins. One morning we set out to go to one such location typical venue in Flagstaff. On way we decided to check out this cabin location that had great reviews and decent wedding pictures on the website. To get to the point, oh my goodness. We fell in love with the location and the owners within an instant. On the way up to Flagstaff, my wife and I stated, this next place has a mountain to scale in order to 'one up' Cabins on Strawberry Hill. As we suspected, and hoped to some degree, the Flagstaff location bombed and we drove back down to Cabins on Strawberry Hill (Cabins) to make our reservation. The owners were extremely helpful in arranging our dates which after a week had to be changed (that was no problem for them, very accommodating). Cabins provided us a list of recommended vendors for catering. We chose Susie's Q, the absolutely best choice! We arranged for a DJ, photo-booth, and had a close friend design the wedding, a family member who did the photography, and my wife the baker made the cake. As stated before, it was paramount that we were allowed to design the wedding to our liking, no exceptions. Hence in major part why we chose Cabins. We were told to visit the property as need (with a courtesy email/call prior to the visit) so we could outline the designs and share those with the Cabins. The folks at the Cabins were playing on our team. In the end the entire property turned into our fantasy wedding. Okay, so we went over a little on budget but that little made for an incredible experience, rather than an upgraded meal option. Cabins is managed and operated by two brothers whereas all the venues we visited in Prescott, Flagstaff, Payson, Sedona, Florence, Phoenix, Scottsdale are operated by a few dozen to a few hundred staff, and yet only at the Cabins could we have our dream wedding at price tag far more reasonable than the others. It was about our experience. For us to have the most beautiful, fun, and forever memorable weekend and wedding of our lives and of those who joined us. That was only possible the Cabins on Strawberry Hill. So to close, how many stars are given? As we rarely do, we give without question five stars. I have fibromyalgia and RA, the furniture was comfortable. We knew to bring our own shower stuff and things like bloo dryer, everything else was provided for bath and kitchen. The cabin was very nice and the weather allowed us to build a fire inside and in the pit. Best pizza is Old County Line in Pine, a must have!! Try the Early Bird for breakfast. Phenomenal place! Cabins are CLEAN and super cozy! Cabins have EVERYTHING! You only need to bring food! There are gas and charcoal grills for cooking. Cabins have stovetop, full fridge/freezer and microwave. Coffee machine and toaster! All dishes, utensils, pots and pans are there! TONS of things to entertain children - playground/swings/playhouse, tether ball, basketball, volleyball, badminton, horse shoes, hiking (trails right off the property!), grass to play on, hills to sled in winter! This is one of my favorite places to stay when I go on vacation. The cabins are really nice and cozy, well cared for and very comfortable. It really gives you the feel of what it would be like to live in a cabin in the mountains. Fits my family of four perfectly. The property outside is also very nice and well taken care of. We loved having our wedding here! We rented the entire place for the weekend for our wedding party. This made it so fun! The night before our wedding we got to hang with all our friends and family. We grilled out, played volleyball and hung out around the campfire. It was perfect. Each cabin has everything you'd really need. We were there August 2015, and it was not too hot at all. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The venue is BEAUTIFUL in the summer. So green and lush! Although it's close to the road, you really don't realize it. Feels secluded. Beautiful views of mountains from different spots. Amanda helps w the events, and was great for helping us with our wedding. She answered all our questions. She was around if needed on wedding day but didn't crowd us. The venue received several noise complaints from our dance party, all before 9pm. That was disappointing, but luckily we only had to turn the music down right before the wedding ended. Amanda was very understanding and supportive to us, even with the noise complaints. We had a wedding of about 150, which is bigger than their typical wedding. We ended up deciding to have our wedding ceremony in the woods (national forest) right by the venue. Our guest walked about 3 minutes down a path into the woods that we made and cleared. It was awesome! Then we used the venue space for our cocktail hour and reception. It was a perfect space for that!! Overall, very beautiful. We loved our time there! The wedding was perfect. read more

We just booked this place for our daughters wedding! So far we cannot be more happy with their service and the way they treated us. So nice! The grounds are gorgeous and so incredibly clean and well kept. The cabins are cute and you can tell they take great care of them. Jason took a ton of time with us today showing us around the property and helping us understand what to expect for the wedding weekend. His wife was great to work with and we had a contract and left a deposit before we even left. We are so excited and cannot wait to spend the weekend at this gorgeous property. We arrived a little early and they were able to provide the key to our cabin. Greeter was friendly. The cabin was clean and they supplied you with linens, dishes, etc. Great landscaping. Their website went above and beyond with great information and things to do. Wood fires were not allowed but they had propane grills and tables to use. They do allow dogs which was great! They had several corn hole boards and a ping pong table. Wish they had a little bit more games, large Jenga would have been fun. We brought our own pickle ball and badminton set. So definitely will suggest to bring your own outdoor games. Would definitely recommend. read more

Held our wedding at this venue over the 4th of July weekend and let me just say it was awesome. Rick and Jason have such a great facility with the cabins, the newly constructed wood pavilion, and so many amazing spots for a ceremony. We chose to have the ceremony by the apple tree and it turned out to be our perfect spot. Throughout the weekend Rick was very attentive and responsive to our requests. We had expectations before we arrived on Thursday, and when leaving on Sunday my wife and I were talking the whole way home about how much better everything turned out than we expected. Both of our families were so amazed how beautiful everything was. We highly recommend this venue/facility. Lastly, Rick and Jason have a list of preferred services - DJ's, caterers, photographers, Baker's, etc. and the ones we selected from the list were all top notch and provided better than 5 star service. (Impact DJs, Klaver's Katering, Rebekah Sampson photography, and Silver Rose Bakery.) And we recommend planning to stay an extra day. We will definitely be returning. Excellent Vacation destination!!! My family and I have stayed here several times and we've always had a great time! The cabins are always beautiful, very clean, and comfortable. They provide all the amenaties of home but still have that rustic outdoor feeling to them that you're looking for when renting a cabin. The property is always in excellent condition and they provide lots of activities for all to enjoy. The staff is always very friendly and accomadating to any needs that you may have. The rates are very reasonable when you consider the other option of renting a cabin through craigslist after all the deposits and cleaning fees associated with going that route. I would highly recommend giving them a shot if you're looking for a weekend getaway. You won't be disappointed! read more

I used to come here as a kid with my family so not only are there a lot of fond memories here, but I've made recent ones too. Their prices are very fair and the cabins are cozy and in a loft style which is very unique. They are dog friendly, which is a definite plus. They provided us with a grill on the back patio area and charcoal. They gave us everything we needed for the fire in the fireplace. Everything was clean and nice. One of the employees, Jason was very nice and helpful and I couldn't have asked for a better stay. I plan on coming back here time and time again and would highly recommend it. Not to mention there is a beautiful canyon/river nearby that is absolutely breathtaking. read more

My wife and I were married at The Cabins on Strawberry Hill on October 14th. When we were looking into venues at the beginning of our engagement this was the first we visited. After meeting Jason, we came to realize how genuinely great of a person he is. As he showed us the grounds, we instantly loved everything about it. The cabins were clean and perfect! We had a vision to have a woodland rustic theme wedding and knew this venue was perfect for it. Before we left the venue, we had already decided there was no need to look any further. The time leading up to and, of course, the day of our wedding, Jason was always kind and willing to help us with any questions, concerns or needs we had. If he was not available then his equally amazing wife, Amanda would step in and help us. Naturally, our weekend wedding was a hit and a huge success. We had planned Friday morning to do a wedding Olympics games/relay in which we used some of the activities on the grounds for our events. That evening we hosted an I do BBQ where almost all of our wedding guests came to get acquainted and have some extra fun before the wedding on Saturday. Then the day came and our vision and decorations were set up by Stasha who is a friend of Amanda's. I can't think of one thing bad to say about this venue and the wonderful people who helped make our day a truly special one. They went above and beyond doing a fantastic job of taking care of us and our guests during our stay. Needless to say, this is a must to stop by and check out if you're looking for a wedding venue or even wanting a scenic getaway for a couple nights. read more

My family and me just really enjoyed the experience here. Very kids friendly due to us having a couple of daughters to keep entertain because they have nonstop motor that I'm jealous of course. Nonstop firewood to keep the camp fire going so my mom & mom in law can stay warm at night. Charcoal grill ready for us, clean environment with such cool staff. We absolutely love it here. We are a family of 5 with three kids ages 12,12 and 9. We have stayed here three different times and will be back this summer! Our kids do not want to go anywhere else and neither do we! It has everything you want a kitchenette with a stove, microwave, dishes etc. There is a playground for the kids and always kids around to play with. Hiking is right off the grounds plus a lot of close places to explore. The cabins are extremely clean and they have done a lot of improvements as well. You shouldn't come here for the wi fi! You are here to relax and gets away from it all. However we have been able to access wi fi, just not all the time but we don't expect it. A great place to get away and have a fun relaxing time!
