Here are positives followed by negatives. Positives- Sergio and staff are polite even though they are very busy. They are in the top 5% for RV staff we've met in two years of travel. Most concrete for the RV and an adjacent vehicle are concrete. A small number have gravel adjacent vehicle pads and a very small number are gravel RV and adjacent vehicle pads. The hookups are good. The indoor facilities are very nice though we made no use of them. Trash is picked up throughout business hours. The view from our door is beautiful; luck of the draw. Negatives- The water quality here is the worst we've seen; tested 340 using two testers. Over 300 is considered non-potable. We bought bottled water in their office for cooking and won't do laundry here. When we arrived water was briefly unavailable and the WiFi has been down 2 of 3 days. I've seen both mentioned in other reviews so there's been ample time to come up with a solution for these. The RVs are on top of each other here (see pic). There is a huge Class A Newell that is head in and has room to back out. The 5th next to us is on the pad though had to compromise on position. read more

Our 1st time rving. Excellent facility front desk and customer service. This campsite is very accommodating in that if you don't have a reservation on an honor system you can park at their empty space and check in the next morning. This place has a library A TV Room, two handicap showers plus 3 regular roomy showers And a gym. I Truly like that it is right off the freeway and a shuttle bus from the local casino will pick you up and drop you off. Once you check in at the front desk the local camp guide will escort your space. All roads are paved, lots of patio area, and a pool! They also have propane onsite. read more

Nice but NO REFUNDS Over the past 2 years, my husband and I have stayed at Distant Drum multiple times without incident. The park is clean, conveniently located, dog friendly, and has level cement slabs. As a frequent camper, I find that most every park is flexible. But not Distant Drum. They have a NO REFUND policy. Meaning if you pay for a stay but life happens (whether an illness, emergency, or a situation which requires you to leave early) you get NO REFUND of any quantity. My husband and I got soaked for a few hundred dollars. But I think of all the travelers that come from across the country and pay for months of stay. What happens if they need to suddenly leave? According to their policy, Distant Drum will give you no money back. This strict policy only benefits the owners as they take your money and can then resell the spot to another traveler. When staying at a resort and paying for resort prices, you'd expect the resort to have certain amenities to make your stay pleasurable, like water. Sometimes.... it just doesnt happen. Beautiful location. The park is very neat and clean. The check-in was easy breezy. Staff was friendly but not so much to my hubby. The guys running around in the golf carts were awesome. Super helpful. Cement Rv pads were great. Pleanty of room for lots of slide outs. Pool was not heated but at least it was clean. Activity center was nice. Laundry room was small but clean. $1.75 for washers and dryers. The biggest problem we had was the water and Internet, but most RV parks have crappy Internet, so that's just the way it goes. BTW... if you desire to use the RV parks WIFI....just so you know they Cap it. The water, however, had low pressure most of the time we were there and we eventually ended up with no water on the last day of our stay. (We stayed a week) Having no water in the morning sucked BIG time. If I don't get my shower in the morning I can get a bit grumpy. I need that shower to make me feel alive. Not happening on our last day. Also, cell phone service is really bad there. Can you hear me now? Nope. I even had Verizon service. I need to Yelp Verizon next. Anywhooo...moving on. read more

Keep on driving past.... We've stayed there before, like to give folks repeat business, and we thought it was decent... - till we tried to contact them on this most recent trip, on February 7th, 2021. Janet has an aversion to answering the phone. Yes, I called *during* their operating hours. Calling repeatedly and then fearful, I left one message, and received a call back within a few minutes. Yes, they had space available. I had another question, so I called back the same number that she called from - no, it wasn't the business number. We simply weren't going to arrive before closing. Again, calling multiple times, even leaving another message, giving her the benefit of doubt, thinking she was walking the property - Janet *never* called back... We were mortified. We were tired and hungry. We were stranded. I can't imagine ever running a business this way. We got a call back the next day, about 9am, and we were already out of the area. Fat lot of good that did. The gal that called (It wasn't Janet) inquired as to whether I wanted the Manager to call back... "For what?", I said. As a frequent traveler and not retired, I would not recommend them. We certainly won't ever return. read more

Didn't even have a chance to get there since RUDE Lori had us kicked out before even applying!! I was only trying to get general information since this RV concept is entirely new to me. She made me feel like I was completely wasting HER time and SHE was doing me a favor by answering simple questions. You would think someone living in such a "paradise " would have a better attitude and at least some people skills. She lacked both, which I'm sure reflects upon this whole place. What ashamed. This campground is really wonderful. I've never been to a place where they come up to help you park- whenever you return from sightseeing, carry away your garbage when you leave it out for them, and so many other nice and thoughtful amenities- including a pristine pool and jacuzzi. The staff are happy and cheerful and keep the grounds in immaculate condition. From the moment I called them they could not have been more kind and helpful. It's been a real pleasure. The views of the mountains and stars are frosting on the service and comfort!!! Hate to leave.., I'm sure to be back! read more

Love this place! My husband and I have stayed here 3 times this year alone. The place is very clean, the staff is very friendly and the hookups are very easy. I do wish they would plant some trees. I know that could be somewhat difficult for the bigger rigs and maybe that's why there aren't any, but it would be nice. The price is nice in my opinion. For some reason, we always arrive later in the evening when the staff has left. They are still very accommodating by providing a packet in their box by the office door. Because of a family emergency at home, my husband and I had to cut our stay short by two days. They didn't charge us for that. I greatly appreciate these people and this place! read more

We were not sure about booking this place as we travelled from Flagstaff to Phoenix. We tried to get into Sedona to no avail, but I am glad we decided to spend 2 days here after a day stop in Sedona. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The facilities are excellent, pool, hot tub, small gym, outside communal areas, a large communal lounge with plenty of games, a kitchen, a large laundry, library and plenty of toilet/shower rooms. The parking slot was excellent, with well topiaried shrubs and plants and neatly raked gravel. The concrete standings were easily big enough for a big rig and additional vehicle, with room for a picnic bench. Full hook ups were complimented by a drive-by refuse collection service - with a smile and a wave. Local casino which provides a free shuttle is pretty standard but has a bowling alley to keep the teens amused, and the local historic castle built into the rock cliffs adds some historic context. A bit off the regular route but a great find. Don't be put off by the proximity of the airport and freeway, the site is quiet and relaxing. read more

What a wonderful RV park. The staff is beyond kind, friendly and very helpful. We intended to only stay 3 nights but extended our stay for a week and cancelled our other reservation we had elsewhere. Laundry room, weight room and showers are very well kept. The dog park is very nice and lots of grass patches to walk your dogs also. The pool and spa are well kept. Nice park to ride your bikes through. Great trails to hike nearby. Got to enjoy the Salvadorian food truck on Saturday evening that comes in to the park. Each campsite is well kept. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and will not hesitate to stay again. Thank you for a great experience! read more

I want to thank this rv resort for being so kind to our group. We came here because Rancho Sedona Rv screwed up our reservation and shorted us a night on our stay despite having booked a year out. Don't stay there!! Stay here! Not only did they place us all 7 RVs next to each other with a short notice, but they escorted us to our site, helped us back in and we're so so friendly. The day we arrived was my daughters birthday and they offered the patio and game room to us immediately. They helped me set up for her party and the manager, Sergio, brought my daughter the sweetest gift that afternoon. So thoughtful! I couldn't recommend this campsite enough. The management and customer service is unmatched. Thank you guys! For saving the day on my daughters 6th birthday! read more

We have been at this park for almost a month now and have been very pleased . The lots are well maintained and a decent size the prices are reasonable as well.. What I like the best is that there are plenty of camp hosts around even in the evening so you feel comfortable and safe. We will definitely come back here again. Great job to the owners!!! read more

I called in January to booked a stay for 3 rigs for 7 days. When we arrived in May, check in was easy and they take you to your site. That's the good part. The spaces are not completely level and they are small. The Sites not being level may be for rain, not sure. It's to bad they don't have more pull thurs. The space behind us was pretty close and when there's a trailer there you realize how close. Our 2nd night they had an outdoor concert at the casino. I don't know what kind of music it was suppose to be, but It started around 5-5:30pm and was so loud that when we were sitting outside with our friends we had a hard time having a conversation with each other. We went inside to eat dinner, and with our radio on and all of us talking, the music was still so loud it was vibrating our trailer. We had the door and windows closed and it was still extremely loud. All you could hear was a very very loud bass and someone screaming into a microphone. And it just keep going and getting louder. It didn't end until 10:45pm! We were told we were lucky because some of the concerts last longer. It would have been nice if they had mentioned that when we were checking in that there was going to be a concert on Friday night and it may be loud. When I checked the paperwork they had given us at check-in, it said quite time was 10pm to 8am. If I had been making as much noise at my campsite that was coming from the casino concert, they would have been at my door warning me about the noise rule! Then at 7:00am there were planes flying over our trailer taking off from the airport next to the casino. Again, pretty annoying. Then to top it off, the people in the space across from us and over one, we're smoking pot marijuana on a very regular basis!! If we were sitting outside enjoying the evening and they came out to smoke again, all we could smell is marijuana!! And they came out A LOT!! So be aware if you stay here for concerts, planes and people smoking marijuana!! read more

SO we are on the road. First ever family road trip. We are on a whirlwind trip Starting from San Diego then on our way to the Grand Canyon, then Las Vegas. Once we lose our family fortune in Vegas we will be heading to Yosemite and then finally San Fransisco. On our way to the Grand Canyon we figure we would stop at an RV Park somewhere along the way. I'm stoked we stumbled into this RV Resort... If you are ever heading to the Grand Canyon and you need a break, you must stop by here! This place rocks. We found them by searching on my iPhone when we were driving through Phoenix. The staff is extremely friendly and the park is amazing! It is so clean and Nice. The jacuzzi is huge and the pool is heated. They have free WiFi, Showers, a general store, shoot they even have a community computer free of charge if your laptop dies or something. When we arrived it took me like 5 mins to set up our rig. The spaces are very nice. They have and extremely large level pads for your rig and a spot for a a car or two. They have power (20,30,50ampservice) water, sewage, cable TV (with a bunch of channels), and phone connection. The grounds are kept very well. The only thing i noticed was a little freeway noise while we were in the pool but it wasn't a big deal. All in all i recommend this place to the anyone who travels. As a side note I didn't see a single tweaker in a 1962 dodge motor home anywhere in the park. :) Dino.... )'( read more

This park is presented well ! Nicely landscaped, paved roads, cement pads for the rv and tow vehicle. Sites are extremely close! Our awning almost touches the rv awning next to us ! ! Pool, wifi and dog run are nice too We Had a pull-thru space ( 72 ) and it has to be the most un level site in this park ! Our front tires are 8 inches off the ground and it's 22 inches from our bottom step the cement pad ! This part of this park is unacceptable and brings to question why others rate it a 10 ! Far from a 10 but real close to a 6 ! We stayed here in a 40 foot motorhome with a tow and the site is adequate ! I would mot recommend this site to family or friends. We will not stay here again but drive the additional 30 some miles to Flagstaff ! read more

This will be our second time staying here. We checked in on 5.17.20 and will be leaving on 6.02.20. We have site 32 and love the extra privacy and views. Otherwise, all I can say is we love this place and it's location. We were only disappointed that they didn't open there gym until today, 6.01. Very very few even use it so I truly believe they could and should have opened it awhile ago. They keep every part of this place, inside and outside immaculate. All of the staff are very professional and kind. Tony, is by far one of the hard workers that stands out. He is always going above and beyond and tends to make time to see if he can be of help if he sees someone walking with lots in there hands or just walking to the pool he has offered to drop us off. That little bit goes very far. Thank you to all especially Tony. You made several of our days here easier. We will be back!! read more

So we stayed here from September 24 - October 7, 2020 and we have no complaints. Staff was friendly. Golf cart guys always went above and beyond. Rocky checked us in after hours. Guided us to our spot and then came back 15 minutes later to make sure I had no issues with the hookups. WiFi is not the greatest. But we were able to stream Netflix so what more can you want. Was working most weekdays while here and when WiFi was slow switched over to my Verizon hot spot and had no issues. Sites are not giant but very well maintained. Nice concrete pads and a patch of manicured grass. Dog park, pool, hot tub and laundromat were good. Will definitely stay here again if our this way. About 25 minutes to Sedona. 2 hours to Grand Canyon that made a great day trip. Also several nice wineries within 30 minute drive. Oh and you must check out the artsy town of Jerome during your stay. Only about 30 minutes away. And if gambling is your thing the casino is 3 minutes away. Yes there is some slight interstate 17 road noise at times, but not an issue at all and worth it for the convenience . read more

I may have given it 4 stars because the sites are uneven-and if you have an older trailer they make sure it's nice enough to come in -but I have NEVER had a welcome like the one we had here by Rocky. He went above and beyond to show us around and stayed up and at the gate until we arrived at 830 pm. He even walked my husband through parking the toy hauler which was pretty hysterical because we run this thing all over the place and he can drive like a pro. He is such a nice guy and even stopped during his break to show me the laundry facilities, game room and workout room. The kids hopped in the heated pool as soon as we arrived. E aer only going to stay for one night but the kids are begging for another. We usually park off the beaten path and don't use the full hook ups, but this is nice for a change and a regroup before we head out again into the wild. read more

Great location about 20 miles south of Sedona. The traffic is so bad in Sedona and it was nice being away from it. Great location. There are so many interesting places to see in the area. The town of Camp Verte has everything you need from good grocery store to several restaurants to pick from. Convenient to Flagstaff, Prescott, Cottonwood, Jerome. It's a nice park, but pricey for being in the middle of nowhere. While making our reservation two weeks prior to arriving, spent a lot of time picking our site, when we arrived were given a different site with no explanation of why. Terrible view of old trailers parked across the gully and large sign that lights up at night. Pages of rules, low water pressure and terrible wifi. Stayed here once a few years ago, not sure what changed but remembered it differently. And lastly, if you are looking to use Passport America membership, this is not the place. They said there are only a few sites reserved for membership and you could only use 1 night per month. read more

I hesitated about giving this 'resort' any star, but because it is well maintained/clean, I reluctantly give it 2 stars. If you're a larger rig looking for a safe place to park so that you can venture out for all the wonderful sites in the area (or going to the casino), then this is a possibility. They give you a great pamphlet with a map of the area and access to all kinds of on site service opportunities which is great for a rig that might need service or cleaning. Reading the reviews, we thought it would be a good place to stay. We're a small motorhome and it's not a good place for us. It's like being in a downtown apartment area. Our site is on a corner, asphalt streets and concrete, something like a city street, looking at RV's in front/back/side/across with a highway behind us. We had no table on which place our grill for dinner. When I asked if we could move to a quiet area with smaller RVs and a view to the mountains, I was told they were sold out (I get it! We were there only there 1 night and it was a last minute request and I respect busy), BUT when I walked out late at night and early in the am with our dog, those sites were vacant. One of the staff (I think fairly new) was very sweet and looked like she wanted to help. The other had a "corporate" proprietary attitude (she just didn't care about helping us) and was not too thrilled that we didn't automatically accept the site given. Other reviewers have commented that the resort is 'quiet,' but the highway noise and a neighbor warming up his motorcycle did not add to the already lacking ambience (be sure to see if you can get an outside site as those do have some views and privacy). We take responsibility for not paying attention to the word 'Resort.' It is a well controlled and maintained, safe, clean, and allows you to leave your bagged trash at the end of your spot.There is a gravel path leading through the park toward the office which is nice and we did have a tree at the back of our site, but if you want a small amount of 'feel' that you're "camping" and can sit utside your rig at night and enjoy the stars or the mountains, this is not the place for you. I think more disappointing than our location was the lack of truth about site availability and a willingness to accommodate IF possible. read more
