This is one of the friendliest, cleanest and most customer accommodating parks that we have ever stayed at (and we have been RVing for over 30 years. The RV sites are long and wide. My husband enjoys off-roading and there are lots of trails to spend the days exploring in addition to all the other things to do in the area. We also enjoy all the big shade trees in the park and the walking paths down by the creek. Try this park. You will love it.

They have a a dog potty area, tennis/pickle ball court, playground, pool, hot tub, splash pad area (it was not on when we were there) fire pit, an arcade area, shuffle board, pool table, and a reading area. The bunk beds squeak and the ladder rattles whenever a person is on them. One turnover at night and everyone wakes up to the rattles. The door is cracked and see thru light. Most of the 8 wagons doors are cracked. The people right next door were long term there. I have been to many RV resorts and not one had full time people living there. Met some residents there that have been living there over 2 years. A group of kids (teenager and preteens) arrived in the bathrooms for showers and took 3/4 and the floors were flooded after. Drains working but the kids were wild and noisy while in shower. No reason floors flooded by toilets and sink. I was doing laundry. Dogs taken into laundry room with sign that says no dogs allowed except service dogs. These dogs were not trained service dogs. The day before checkout, The next door neighbors were dropping F bombs every few words and the adults seem to be arguing with 2 young children, 1 an infant, were crying while adults yelling. The pool water was cloudy and the tile on the pool was filthy. The splash pad was so calcified and other minerals that the yellow, red colors were white looking. Looks like maintenance is lacking there a lot. Campers don't follow rules and no one is there to enforce. We left a day early because of the language going on and neighbors. Upon check out reported this to the person at checkout. She stated they have had some issues with the people, yet they are still there. Could be a great place, but needs cleaned up and campers need to be removed if can't follow rules. That comes from management. I would not go back.

Why is it the best? Pride. The park is beautifully maintained, it is clean and landscaping is really attractive with blooms and birds. Staff is attentive, professional and friendly. Sergio, the manager does a great job and is very helpful. Facilities are clean and all amenities work and are well maintained (think laundry room). The heated pool and jacuzzi is great with sparkling water. Watching the sunset from the jacuzzi is a highlight. Workout rooms are well appointed. We have amazing neighbors and a great view of the desert. Road Runners run by our site. The park is safe and well lit. Roads are in good shape. Propane is available on site. The office has a small store with yummy treats and other convenient items. I am so glad we found Distant Drums RV Resort and give thanks to all who work to make it great!

And 1 one of my friends from Phoenix came over to visit. He got his own site and the owner, made it so that we were right next to each other which was awesome. So in all we had 9 people between us (2 of which were children around 10-12 yrs old). We came to the area to do hiking, dining, and sightseeing in Sedona and the surrounding area. The neighbors some of which were "long stay" tenants were very nice to us as well and helped us when our water hose was leaking. Overall great stay with no complaints. The only hit I would give this place is that you do have to drive to Sedona but it's not too bad of a drive.

Our pull thru site was easy to access. All lots are very level. Sewer line was a bit away, about 20', but they noted it on their website and we were ready. Nice amenities. Small store on premises for necessities. Bath houses and laundry were very clean! The clubhouse was clean and looks recently renovated. There were daily activities and there is a rec room (we didn't use) and mini golf. We enjoyed the free waffle breakfasts and smores. The park is next to the river and made for good walks with our dogs. There is an enclosed dog run, too. But best of all, the outstanding customer service! Wonderful, friendly staff made us feel so welcome! I highly recommend!

They are personable and very helpful. The park is a little older but the buildings like the office, bathrooms, and laundry room are well maintained and clean. The pool area and Community room look to be newer and also well maintained. There are quite a few full time residents at this "Resort". Some of them have a lot of junk around their spaces. Not something we cared to look at when we're on vacation. When we arrived at our space we noticed about 8 -10 ant mounds. A staff member came right away to take care of the situation. They weren't a problem for us at our site because they had put something down but throughout the "Resort" there were many ant mounds. One spot in particular was near one of the dog runs. You have to be mindful of where you're standing so not to get bitten. I did notice towards the end of our stay the ant mounds were back in our space. In all of our travels in our 5th Wheel, we have yet to see an ant issue like this. Another issue is the stickers throughout the "Resort". We had to be very careful as to where we walked our dogs. I would say that most walks we went on the dogs got a sticker or two in their paws and/or their fur. The space we picked was very long but narrow. For us it was a problem because we couldn't put our chairs out or set up our dog pen up right outside the door like we normally do because there was about 2 ft to do so. It was a bit inconvenient as far as we were concerned. One of the rules at the "Resort" is you are only allowed to stake anything down between the railroad ties that lines the space, because of the fiber optics etc. We noticed while walking around the grounds that there are many spaces just like the space we were in....long and narrow. They are perfect for one or two nights OR, if you're not planning to set anything up. If you don't care you can set up in front or in back of your rig. I highly recommend that if this is your first time making a reservation at this park that you speak with someone to make sure the space you're considering will work for your stay. One other thing. My husband and I went out for a few hours one day without our pups. We made sure that the air conditioning was on because the temperatures had been a bit warm. When we arrived back we noticed the power was off in the 5th Wheel. Which meant the air conditioner was off. They were doing some work right outside of our space. We weren't notified that they would be turning the power off. We love staying in that area because it's central to the places we like to visit. We will not be staying at Verde River RV Resort again.

It was not over packed or over crowded it was perfect only a few family we fit in just perfect! You can leave the camp site and walk to the amazing creek where kids are playing splashing all near the camp site it's perfect!! At night we pulled our chairs out in the middle of the open field they have and star gazed all night it felt like you could touch the stars how close you are it was perfect great ending to such a beautiful day at such a beautiful camp site! This place is a must go to you will not be let down easy to find nice friendly hosts perfect loved everything about this camping trip!

I made reservations here at Rain Spirit RV about a month ago, planning for 2 days and 3 nights. We saw Sedona, took a tour, did some exploring, and a great train ride on the Verde Canyon Railroad, but ran out of time to see Jerome...so we inquired about extending our stay one more night. Gary, the owner, was very accommodating! The park itself is super cute, quiet, and extremely clean. We booked a pull-through site which is really easy access...We brought a second car that fits easily in the same site, too, and at no additional charge! The whole park is well maintained. There's a nice pool and jacuzzi, and private bath house with showers. Nights were dark, and we could see the stars, something we have trouble seeing in Vegas..park was extremely quiet no traffic noise!! We really had a great experience here, and would love to return soon!

To be fair, the park has several positive attributes. The grounds are clean, the facilities are generally well maintained, and the location provides convenient access to Clarkdale, Cottonwood, Jerome, and Sedona. Unfortunately, those positives were overshadowed by what I found to be an exceptionally poor customer service experience. The resort has approximately 68 sites. During much of our stay, occupancy appeared to be very low. At one point, there were only about 10 RVs in the park. My wife parked her car in a shaded, vacant site near our RV because there were dozens of empty spaces available and no impact whatsoever on other guests. Rather than a friendly conversation, I received the following email directly from the owners: "Please do not park or set up camp at other empty spots. We don't want our other guests to get the impression that the empty spots are open to all for use or park at." The second incident was even more disappointing. We had booked and paid for a full month. After spending two weeks in a largely empty long-term area, we noticed that a shaded site across the street remained vacant. Because Arizona temperatures were rising, we politely asked whether we could move to Site 26. The response from the owners was: "Guests moving from site to site is not in our vision of how we want our park to run." The issue was not that the answer was "no." The issue was the complete absence of any effort to accommodate a reasonable request from a long-term guest. The site was vacant. The park was far from full. No other guest would have been affected. Ultimately, the customer service experience became so frustrating that we decided to relocate our Airstream to another RV park before completing our planned stay. What happened next was perhaps the most telling part of the entire experience. There was no inquiry as to why we were leaving, no appreciation for our business after a month-long stay, and no effort to understand our concerns. Instead, the first and only communication I received was an invoice for our electricity usage. These communications came directly from the owners, which makes it difficult to dismiss the experience as the actions of a single employee. Hospitality is not measured by how many rules a business has. It is measured by how guests are treated. The park may be clean and well located, but I left feeling more managed than welcomed. For that reason, I would not stay at Rain Spirit RV Resort again and cannot recommend it to travelers who value hospitality, flexibility, and customer-focused service.

Phenomenal fishing for the kids in the lagoons 4. The little cabins are a must for families! Will be on our regular rotation now. Pro tip: if staying in the cabins, there is only one wall outlet inside. Bring an electric water kettle to heat up water for ramen, coffee, cider, oatmeal, and for doing a quick rinse of any cooking pans and utensils. We would died without our hot water kettle. The reservation staff handled this modification without issue. Be sure to fully understand the cancelation policy. Numerous reviews about the nightmare. Upon arrival, there was a slight misunderstanding, but it was quickly resolved. The location is picturesque, featuring tall trees, a serene pond, and a running creek, along with amenities not typically found at other campgrounds, such as a swimming pool, laundry facilities, showers, and a playground for children. The creek was the highlight of our trip. However, let's not overlook the reality we faced: with the hefty price tag for this slice of paradise, a few upgrades wouldn't go amiss. Our cabin's air conditioner was so loud it sounded like a jet engine preparing for takeoff, making family conversations feel more like a yelling match. There are some spider webs in the cabin. I don't mind them, but they might freak someone else out! We rented the small cabin which had a toilet which was an absolute plus. The cabin bed/mat's could use an upgrade. We just brought our air mats. They worked fine. The loft bed was comfortable according to my teen. So, the only WiFi was by the clubhouse, which I was totally fine with. Every now and then, I'd get a text coming through while inside the cabin. Very spotty. We brought our pups along and made sure they were on their best behavior since the rules said no warnings for noisy dogs--if they barked too much, guests would be asked to leave. Oddly alot of dogs barked, which is ok in my book. There's also a cute little store on-site for all the essentials and some snacks! Great location, just about 30min to nearby Sedona or Cottonwood. In summary, a beautiful escapade with a few quirks, just enough to keep us entertained and on our toes! I've read multiple reviews of the staff. We're fortunate not to have a bad experience.

On a reservation with a 4 week notice, the next day within only 16 hours later, I needed to cancel. The Lo Lo Mai Springs management staff insisted on charging 20% of the $290, 2 day premium for an RV trailer space. ($145 per night,, might as well stay in a hotel). After reading the ridiculous, idiotic resort rules and other complaints, it sounds like a North Korea Dictatorship.
