I stayed at a cabin that I have visited for years and loved. These people asked me to leave a review since they just took them over. Here is the scoop. I looked at the website since I booked before they took over. They charged an extra $45 dollars to book. Then they charged a $175 dollar cleaning fee. Neither were previously charged. They also charged $90 for wood that had always been provided for free to. I had booked massages thru the previous lady as well. Same company and they charged almost twice the money. This is not a change for the better. I will be looking elsewhere next time. They should not have requested a review. #theyasked read more

We recently stayed in the Sugar Hill cabin. The cabin was spacious but we were very disappointed in the overall cleanliness. The worst part being I had to rewash the sheets because there was so much hair and questionable things stuck to them. I question if they were washed before our arrival. Also, both toilets were dirty. Because the sheets were questionable, I also decided to wash the towels before using. This was such a disappoint considering I spent almost $800 for 3 nights and drove 6 hrs to get there. The LAST thing you want to do is laundry upon arrival. I did contact management after getting home, as there would have been nothing more they could have done during our stay, other than what I did. I would not have wanted cleaners at the rental while we were there, so that would not have been an option for us. Their response was disappointing and didn't give me the impression they really care. Either way, we had a lovely experience in Broken Bow and highly recommend visiting. I would look elsewhere when looking for lodging though. read more

This is a warning: look at any other company to book with. If you have ANY problems, they will ultimately find a way to blame you. It's like trying to communicate with an angsty teenager. REVIEW: After looking through the reviews, it's clear the company is defensive and rude to those that had a poor stay. We were one of those. This was a listing found on VRBO. On the listing, WiFi was listed as an included amenity. Upon arrival, we placed about 10 calls with no response about how to get in. It took us 3 1/2 hours to get a reply. (We found out afterwards there was a "kink" in the system where the information about the cabin somehow didn't go out when it was supposed to a week prior). Once we finally got in we saw no information about WiFi. Both my wife and I do remote work and began to worry. When we called back we were told it was NOT listed as an amenity... on the "cabinsforbrokenbow" site. We took screenshots of our VRBO information, just in case it was taken down, and sure enough, it was. The listing cannot currently be found on VRBO. After emailing and requesting a partial refund we were met with doubt and requests for pictures of "proof". We are still in the middle of talking with these people but it appears they don't like being called out and get extremely defensive. The fact is, this is FALSE ADVERTISING, accidental or not. PS the cabin itself was garbage. Limited resources (no salt, pepper or other spices). a charcoal grill that looks like it was made by a cave man. An AC unit that's as loud as WWII itself. A bathroom door that gets stuck and requires the force of a Greek god to open. One nightstand per bedroom. A hot tub that's jets only half work and lights don't work at all. A collection of Blu-ray discs but only a normal DVD player. Sticky island and cabinets. No instructions on how to use the puzzle shower. This place is AMAZING!!! The cabin is absolutely beautiful and is very well kept. It is also very spacious. The hot tub was nice and clean and there was a very beautiful view. The cabin came with all the dishes and cooking utensils. They also supplied towels and a washer and dryer. There isn't a dish washer but that was not a problem at all. Rented Bear hollow for Mothers day weekend and when we walked in we noticed there was no central heating/air. No where on their description does it state that. So the 1st night was so hot the only room with a unit is the Queen bedroom which was occupied by our friends so needless to say we got very little sleep so the 2nd night we ended up on the couch and recliner because it was just too hot and stuffy. The 3rd night I went in to get ready to attempt to sleep in the room again after we bought a box fan and I pulled back the sheets and found a bed bug!!! I reached out to management and 2 ladies came unannounced and went to look at the bed and I was told someone would be in contact and I have yet to hear anything. I've also sent an email and another text but nothing. This is BAD BUSINESS especially for a retuen customer. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND them. read more

My family and I have visited Broken Bow at least 2-3 times a year over the past 12 years. Unfortunately, our stay a couple of weeks ago at one of the properties with Cabins in Broken Bow was the most unpleasant travel experience. The cabin was outstanding, but the property management company has some major issues. To start, please be aware that you are being monitored and recorded by video and audio upon your arrival. At the very least, there is a Ring Doorbell, though we truly felt there was other surveillance. I can understand the concern for security however we have never stayed at a place that did not, at least, notify you in advance that you were being monitored. We've stayed at dozens of cabins in the area, not to mention numerous AirBnBs and other vacation rentals across the country. We have never felt such an uneasy invasion of our vacation privacy before. The property management company began calling and texting upon our arrival, commenting on our dogs. Despite a pet deposit being paid and the cabin obviously being pet-friendly with a built-in dog kennel under the stairs, we were strong-armed into paying an additional fee for our dogs. The rental agreement even clearly said, in writing: "The maximum pet allowance is 4 per cabin." There was absolutely NO bathroom tissue in the entire cabin. The rental agreement did state that each of the 3 bathrooms would have 3 rolls, yet there was not even a single scrap to be found... like not even a roll on the holders in a single one of the bathrooms. My husband had to drive to the convenience store to purchase some since our two kids really couldn't wait after a 3.5-hour drive. Someone did eventually bring some, but not before we were forced to buy some ourselves. In addition, the cabin clearly had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. The floors were filthy, with leaves scattered, when we entered. We had to clean off the remnants of food from the stovetop. The hot tub was set at 88 degrees so we were unable to use it the first evening of our trip, as the January evening air was too cold to enjoy it. We tidied up and raised the heat on the hot tub, in hopes of settling in for the first evening of our vacation. The WiFi worked fine the first evening, but we were unable to connect at all the rest of the stay. The TV in the living area would never connect to DirectTV. The TV in the master bedroom asked for an Amazon Pin Code in order to attempt to switch to YouTube, Netflix, DirectTV, or anything at all. We had asked the woman who dropped off the toilet tissue about the hot tub heater and the living area TV issue and she said someone would be over to take a look the following day. On the second day, we had started a small campfire in the sunken fire pit area that was surrounded by gravel. During this time, I had reached out to Cabins in Broken Bow by text, asking about the TV/WiFi issues and the propane heater that was by the hot tub. Eventually, the campfire had burned down to smoking embers, awaiting marshmallows later in the evening. We went to get dinner down the road and soon, after we left, the phone was blowing up with text messages and phone calls from them. The first thing: "Have you guys left a fire unattended with wood stacked all around?" First, if there was any danger that a fire would have spread, we would have tried to put it out before leaving for a short time. Second, if they want guests to be able to put out a fire in the firepit, they need to be sure that a hose is within reach, as there was none. The nearest hose was down a hill and could not stretch to the fire pit! Further, how did they know that all of us left and what was going on if they were not monitoring our actions? This was our first time staying with Cabins at Broken Bow and we will never rent from them again. I should have taken the time to read other reviews and reviews on other sites, because this company has a lot of complaints against them. We've stayed at cabins with a couple of companies in the Broken Bow area 6-10 times and have never had any problems or complaints against us. My family is planning on purchasing a cabin in Broken Bow and we care for the cabins that we stay at in the same way we would hope someone would care for our cabin, if they were a guest. Being constantly monitored and nit-picked is un-nerving and very poor business practice. Avoid Cabins in Broken Bow! Please take the time to read reviews, as I did not. We had a nice stay at our Cabin Bear Hollow. We chose it because of the fenced in back yard for dogs. That was nice. It was super rocky and not much of a yard. But they could at least hang out for a while not on a leash. When arriving at hw cabin I was surprised to see that it was very close to other cabins and they are doing tons of road work in front of the cabin. The cabin itself looks like a little Shanty. Not much to look at. But when we went inside, it was so cute and nice. The table was set and they turned on the tv with soft music playing. It was a nice surprise. There were lots and lots and lots of rules EVERYWHERE! We were quite afraid to really touch anything! But we used the Hot tub and it was nice and we used the pots and pans for cooking our dinners and breakfast. The cabin had 3 beds but we only used one and it was comfortable. My one and only real compliant.... day two our bedroom came down with a super super fishy smell! I checked everything! Couldn't find where it was coming from. Until I bent down to get a shoe from under the bed. It was coming from under the cabin. We figured that it was either a dead animal or possibly old water under the porch from the hot tub. We stayed at Denali, which was nice for two small families. The outdoor kitchen isn't really much of a "kitchen", but it was a really great place to hang out. The yard was bigger than some of the others I saw, and the cabin was removed back from the road a small way. The inside was clean and well-appointed. Items worked (hot tub, Netflix, wifi, etc.) the upstairs was decently removed from the downstairs in terms of privacy. Cons: - We paid extra for firewood to be delivered. The wood they delivered had been saturated or was very freshly cut and literally would not light on fire once the bark burned off. They refused to refund any portion of that money, even though we had to go to town to buy our own wood. They stated that because we didn't contact them at the time, they would not refund our money. They COULD do that, but they refuse. - We paid the pet fee for 2 small dogs to join us. Not long before our arrival, one of the dogs who was going to join us died. I asked if we could refund the pet deposit if we leave dog #2 at home, and they refused that as well. Nice cabin, poor customer service when it comes to any fees. Beware and make sure you absolutely follow every guideline, as they have no sympathy for your financial loss. read more

Disastrous Vacation... by Cabins in Broken Bow (phone: 580-212-3555, email: hello@cabinsinbrokenbow.com) Beware of this shyster operation. My husband and I needed to get away for a mini vacation. We live in Texas, and we booked a cabin thru their (Cabins in Broken Bow's) web site for Memorial Day Weekend (May 22 through 26). The cabin was called the Ridgeview Retreat. In their contract, it states... " PLEASE NOTE: WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DRIVE A PICKUP/SUV/4 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE AS THE HILLS GOING TO RIDGEVIEW RETREAT ARE VERY STEEP AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET A PASSENGER CAR TO RIDGEVIEW RETREAT". We have an F-150 pickup truck, so we thought all was well. On Friday, May 22, we drove 4 hours to get to Broken Bow. The directions on the contract were wrong, as two of the road names leading to Ridgeview Retreat had been changed. When we finally found the road that the website warned was so steep, I literally was shocked. This road was one lane, gravel, steep to the point of being scary, and had very deep bar ditches on either side of it... not to mention that there had been some heavy storms the prior 3 days in the area, so there were parts of the road that was washed out. I would like to point out a fact. Not all pickup trucks are 4-wheel drive. Our F-150 is not... it is a 2-wheel drive pickup. A 2-wheel drive pickup has a light rear-end... not so good for traction, certainly not as good as a normal passenger car or SUV for traction. We tried getting up that steep, gravel, washed out road 4 times, and each time ended up with the truck losing traction and sliding toward one of the deep bar ditches. After the 4th attempt, my husband said that he is not going to endanger our safety and risk damaging our truck. So we called Cabins in Broken Bow. The lady I talked to had a "not my problem" attitude. The lack of any help or concern on their part leads me to believe that they had experience with this issue. The only help we received from them was a suggestion to go rent a jeep. Needless to say, being that it was Labor Day Weekend, there were no jeeps to rent, nor were there any other cabins available. We were so very disappointed to not get our Broken Bow vacation. We immediately called the credit card company, explained the situation, and disputed the $927.46 Cabin Rental charge. When we got back home, we sent Capital One all the information they requested for the dispute. Two months later, we received a letter from Capital One that the Cabins in Broken Bow had disputed our dispute, claiming only that we did not given them the proper amount of time in advance to cancel the booking... 30 days since it was a holiday. The shysters also charged us $75 to clean a cabin we were never able to get to. read more

We stayed at the Two Bear Gorge cabin in mid-October and it was perfect. The hot tub was awesome and had multicolored lights you could change. The mattresses aren't the most comfortable but I don't expect them to be Tempurpedic ones anyway. There are two bedrooms on the first floor and then there are stairs that lead only up the third room that is placed in a loft kinda way (no door). We ended up bringing our own shampoo and conditioner as they do not supply them. They will, however, provide two small soap bars for the sink and shower as well as some toilet paper. There are a bunch of warnings to not break anything and to follow the rules on signs inside the cabin. Otherwise you'll get charged... dun dun dun. But at least they include some pamphlets of what you can do around there as well as complimentary hot chocolate packets, tea bags, and coffee grounds. I wish I stayed longer than the 2 nights we were there! Kayaking, hiking, grocery store, etc. were all close by car. The cabin has that wonderful home-y feel to it that'll make you want to come back. read more

We rented a cabin from Cabins in Broken Bow. I received an email 2 weeks later stating that the cabin was now sold and they needed to move us to another cabin. She then asked how many people we had (as if she couldn't tell from the original reservation). I responded immediately and she gave us two "cabin" choices that were an hour North of our original cabin. After telling her that was unacceptable she said that is all she had to offer. She was cold and unapologetic through each email until the end when I stated I would be reviewing the company. We then had to find a different cabin through a different company and pay nearly $100 per day more for the same timeframe because it is last minute. We are still waiting for the deposit to be refunded which she said could only be refunded by mailing us a check even though we paid online with a credit card. read more

I do not typically write reviews for places, but this place was the ABSOLUTE WORST vacation rental we have ever stayed and I felt the need to share our experience and warn others about staying here. If you are looking for a place to stay in Broken Bow I would HIGHLY recommend you stay elsewhere. Unless, of course, you enjoy being locked out of your cabin, poor customer service, false advertising, and an extremely defensive company that will blame their sorry excuse for a cabin on the customers. There were several issues that we found with the property that made our stay uncomfortable and the communication we received from the Cabins In Broken Bow team was unhelpful, completely rude, and their unresponsiveness was completely unacceptable. After looking through many cabins for our stay in Broken Bow on VRBO we decided on this property based on the amenities it advertised and the location. One of the main amenities that was important to us was WiFi, which was listed as an available amenity, because there were several of us that needed to be able to work remotely in the event that our teams needed us. We also had very limited cell reception so we knew that the WiFi would allow us to stay in contact with several family members who are in poor health and needed to be checked on. In addition, I personally have a medical condition that might require us to reach out to emergency services or family that could come and help if it was needed. Our problems with the team at Cabins in Broken Bow began immediately upon our arrival. We arrived at our allotted check in time and found that there was no information given about how to get into our cabin. We called more than 10 times from multiple phones and did not receive a response from anyone for 3 1/2 hours. They called back and the call dropped, but we were finally able to get through to someone who was able to give us the code necessary to access the cabin. We found out later in our stay that something was wrong with the system that caused the information to not go out regarding check in and entry information. We completely understand that there might be issues with the system that cannot be prevented, but the information given to us was a passing excuse and no apology for our great inconvenience was given. Once we were finally able to gain access to the property we saw no information regarding the WiFi and immediately began to worry (see above reasoning regarding needing WiFi). When we called back and asked to confirm about the WiFi the woman explained that our cabin did not have it as it was "their most secluded cabin" - as if we didn't have neighbors on all sides and not having WiFi was a privilege that they gave to us. She then explained that on the Cabins in Broken Bow website did not list it as an amenity and we explained that we booked through VRBO which she brushed off as not their responsibility to verify that their property listing was correct because it was a third party website. We went online and got screenshots of all the information from VRBO listing our cabin and the available amenities just in case they decided to take the listing down. We went back an hour or two later to look again at the information and the listing was taken completely off VRBO and could not even be found in our "current trips." After much deliberation, we decided as a group that it would be best to reach out and attempt to request a partial refund to better align with what we thought the value of the property was. After sending the request to all involved parties - VRBO, Red Awning (the umbrella company for Cabins In Broken Bow, and Cabins In Broken Bow - we were met with doubt and extremely defensive and inappropriate behavior. At this point, they have made it very clear that they will be providing us no compensation for the poor condition of the cabin, false advertising, or completely inappropriate behavior toward us. read more

We have been Broken Bow twice. We had good time last time, but this time we have a very bad experience. Yes is yes no is no. We booked two nights from Feb 8th to Feb 10th for 7 people and 1 puppy in early Jan. In early Feb I contacted them said my puppy won't go to the cabin with us and asked whether we can have $50 refund which we paid for our puppy to stay. They said no. I said it was understandable. So no puppy during our stay and I am not a unreasonable person. On the second day we stay Feb 9th, we smelled some gas smell but we were not very sure. Since the weather was cold and spent most time in the house. In the evening we still can smell gas we decide to contact the management. The answer we got was there no gas pipeline in the area we describe. After a while, the contact lady said someone will be our cabin in 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, she was here and said the gas smell was because the leak of the gas tank. The gas tank was empty when she checked. The gas tank is about 40 to 50 times than the tank we can buy from Kroger or The home depot and it was empty. All my family members were in the risk during the stay. There were two fireplaces near the gas tank. We asked her is that safe if we still stay in the cabin? She said yes. She said we just could not have hot water for shower. We asked can we have any discount since it cause inconveniences. The lady said no because we noticed it around 11:30 am, but reported to her until 8:30 pm. We should let her know earlier then she could have someone here to fix the gas tank, which made us very uncomfortable. As guests, why it became our responsibilities to check the gas tank whether leaking or not. Then she called said she can have 10% discount for us. We felt better. We checked out on Feb 10th. Today is Feb 11th I received an email from them asked me whether we paid in full and the booking number. I said yes we paid in full and provided the booking number. Then she said since you paid in full we cannot refund, which was not made any sense. As their policy, no one can check in without paid in full amount. We made full payment 14 days ago. No she said since we paid in full, she cannot refund to me. This just not logical. Then they said the refunded 10% to us and no more refund. I have to say we never as more. We just don't want to be played as a fool. After one hour, they sent me an email said one of their door was damaged and they will charge $100 to my credit card. I will post this picture to google review as well. As I mentioned earlier we did not bring our puppy with us. No of my family member need to scratch the door to grind our nails. Denali cabin was falsely advertised to sleep 8, but really only slept 2 couples (4 people total), since two futons were horribly uncomfortable and unusable. Pictures were misleading. Cabin was dirty, glasses/dishware were dirty & broken, lights and remotes were burned out, firewood was wet, gas grill canisters were empty, hot tub was uncovered and on a separate level from any doors in the home, and thus unusable and inconvenient to get to in the rain. No gates, etc., available for the 5-6 exit points off the patio, so should NOT be advertised as pet/child friendly. Pizza oven would have taken 3 hours to cook one pizza. Management company was not able to fix most issues (we had at least 2-3 issues daily) and was completely dismissive/unapologetic and refused to provide any discount or reimbursement for buying wood, lightbulbs, batteries, ice, etc. without itemized receipts. Under a different management company with better cleaning, stocking and repair service this would have been a completely different vacation instead of constant complaints and hardships. Renter beware!!! We stayed in Eagles Landing- sleeps 14, 5 bedroom 2 bath This property is a double wide mobile home. Not exactly what we were expecting. The beds were absolutely horrible. The living area had room for 5 people (in a home adverstised to accommodate 14). There is one TV in the whole home...and it's a 32". The wifi is a joke. There is one bathroom in the master and one other bathroom for 4 bedrooms. The 2nd bathroom is the size of a powder room, with a not-so-clean shower. The one thermostat for the house is in the very back and the rest of the place stays 80+ degrees. You literally sweat while sitting at the dining room table. It is clearly obvious that the owners of the Eagles Landing do not care about the folks that rent their property. It seems that the very bare minimum is done to keep the place rented. I made my reservation about 10 days ago for a cabin that is clearly available to rent on the website. Today I get a call that the cabin will be undergoing maintenance the weekend I reserved. I happen to be really flexible about the dates however, they didn't know when the maintenance will be complete. I really wasn't upset at this point. But then I was told that I will have to pay a $50 fee. I really don't understand why I need to pay a $50 fee for having to cancel my reservation for a miscommunication/error on their behalf!! Had no problems with customer service, as others have had. We stayed at Chapel Hill for 5 nights recently. Brought our 2 dogs. The rules are pretty strict for staying there, but let's face it: Most of the time people don't take care of another person's property. I find it shocking that people build such a beautiful place and then rent it out to random strangers. I know it's a business and all but wow. LOL This cabin is fairly new, from what I understand. Somewhat steep driveway that's a challenge to walk down due to the rocks. We took the dogs for a few walks per day. The pictures on the website don't really show that the cabin is in a very busy neighborhood with cars going up and down the roads regularly. Hopefully the panoramic pictures that I took of the front and back views of the cabin will upload. Unlike a cabin we rented in Eureka Springs, you can't sit out in the yard and hope to find peace and quiet or a not-so-busy street. LOL But the place was nice... One thing I do NOT understand tho: No curtains except 1 pair on the sliding door in the bedroom that's too small to completely close out the view into/out of the bedroom. There's also a large window in the bedroom that the cabin next door can EASILY see into if they want to-- you guessed it: no curtains. WHY?!? So weird. Another thing: Raccoons at night and no special trash can lid to prevent the little bastards from getting into it. We put a big rock on the lid and the raccoon got it off 2 nights in a row and dug threw the trash... Also woke us up at 1am making noise by banging the trashcan into the side of the cabin. Ugh. Aside from that... the jacuzzi on the back deck was nice and no nearby neighbors can really see you except for when u walk up the steps of the tub to get in/out... You are expected to dose the tub with chlorine per the written instructions left for you or you could be charged extra. Understandable. We had 3 little containers of chlorine for our 5 night stay so I texted the cabin contact number and got a fast reply back: Since it was just my husband and I there, dosing it every other night was fine. ;) We cared for the place like it was our own home. We respected the fact that it's a super nice place and we wanted to leave it that way. I would have vacuumed before we left, had there been one. ;) The only reason I didn't give a 5-Star is because 1) busy neighborhood and nearby cabins which pics online don't show at all (kind of untruthy) 2) trashcans were pointless to keep the raccoons out (there are better ones with straps that hold the lids down, guys and gals and 3) CURTAINS, please! read more

The cabin was not as expected, not secluded, and more like in a neighborhood area with no privacy. It obviously had not been cleaned well, which means it was not sanitized between guests. There were cameras at the cabin so we had no privacy which was very upsetting. We also received an extra charge which my partner is now disputing. This company is bad. read more

We stayed at the Rusty Buffalo on Glover River. Words cannot describe how awesome this cabin was for our stay. The photos of the cabin don't even come close to the experience. There is access to a few trails to explore that lead down to the Glover River. There is a great spot setup for a campfire and view of the river as well. The cabin has a spacious deck great for hanging out day or night. The isolated area with the hot tub / spa is awesome as well. We used that every night we stayed. The views are amazing. FRAUD!! During busy seasons you ARE NOT guaranteed the cabin you select!! It is guaranteed they will take your money, but each individual cabin is sold through multiple sites. We rented a premium cabin in early spring, but we were told only weeks before our Labor Day vacation that there was an "issue." When I asked what the issue was, I was told a maintenance issue. After further pressing, the company ADMITTED THEY WERE LYING and simply chose to give the cabin to another guest. They had already collect EVERY PENNY of the reservation price, and they knew there was no time to find anything else. They rudely forced my party of 14 in multiple individual cabins that they were UNABLE TO SELL. We weren't even close together. When I noticed there wasn't even enough bed space for everyone in my party, I was told to SLEEP ON THE FLOOR!! read more

My husband and I were supposed to stay in one of their cabins for our anniversary; however, due to an emergency medical situation involving our son who was having to fly home from overseas, we were unable to keep our reservations. Yes, we read and signed the contract stating no cancellations. Under ordinary circumstance, I would have totally understood; however, we were not even given the option to transfer our reservation to another date. In addition, our reservations were during a large outbreak of tornadoes in the state. We still received a computer-generated email asking us how our stay was! Booked 3 cabins from Cabinsinbrokenbow.com. Happy Trails is a 1 story 4 bedroom cabin, Paradise Pines is a 2 story 4 bed, and Two Rivers is 4 bedroom 3 bath. Perfect for the number of guest and all within 3 minute walking distance from each other. We wanted to spread out. Paradise has a large wrap around porch which was perfect for the family getting together for food, dancing, and just enjoying yourself. Two Rivers was larger and great for cooking space. We were a 5 minute drive into the State Park and 20 minutes from the lake. Great weekend! Staff decorated the cabins ( I sent them). Shops were nearby. Staff was helpful ( Thanks Cathy). Would definitely book through them again. read more

We stayed in one of their smallest cabins (Sunsettin). The cabin is new, clean, and I can see how many people would have a nice stay if nothing goes wrong. I will concur with another reviewer that they do have signs saying don't do this or that, or dun dun dun. Well, I was displeased with the management when something did go wrong that wasn't my fault. Dun dun dun for me? Because the people before us checked out late, our cabin's hot tub was not usable until after 9:30 pm the first day of our two day stay. It was 61 degrees at checkin at 4pm, so I called the office and I was told it would be hot in 3-4 hours. This was not our fault, and perhaps wasn't management's fault, but they warn in their small print that you have to pay $100/hour for every hour you arrive early or leave late (dun dun dun). So I'm assuming they took in some extra cash on their end. I was disappointed with the unusable tub because I'd hoped to get right in, but got over it, and waited, and we went to look at the lake. An hour and a half later it was only 75 degrees. Someone had been out to check it in the meantime. I figured at that rate it would be too cold all night but I decided to wait longer. I emailed the owner directly at 8:30 pm (4 1/2 hours later) to tell her it still wasn't usable at 92 degrees (when it's 43 degrees outside I'm sorry, that's too cold, it sounds hot but look it up) and I was disappointed and unhappy, because I'd specifically requested a hot tub at booking. She sent someone out again at 9:30, when it was finally usable at 100 degrees (although I'd given up by then so hadn't checked), and the owner sent me another email saying it's working fine and I can gladly leave now if I'm not satisfied and they will refund my money. Where am I to go at 9:30 pm in the country? And I'm sorry, it's finally usable NINE hours after your last check out and I'm not supposed to be upset? Since I paid for it? And since you got an extra fee out of your previous guests for a late check out? And since your cleaning staff obviously cleaned it too late in the gap between guests for it to be more heated before 9:30pm? Why not just say, as their nice worker who came out here did, "Hey I understand, you paid for this and you can't use it. We were chasing the last guests out at 12:15 and we were late getting your cabin ready." A small credit to our bill would have been appropriate and satisfactory for a major amenity that could not be used until bedtime, but instead I got an earful from the owner in an email about how I'm sweating small stuff, am unreasonable, etc. So in response to that here I am, recommending you look elsewhere for a better managed group of cabins. And FYI we paid $362 for a two night stay where you can't check in until 4pm on day one (without shelling out tons of extra cash). This is a LOT of money. All amenities should be usable for the duration of the stay. Period. If not, you don't throw it back at the guests like they are being unreasonable. I will say everyone who came by (a man came by on the second day to check on the tub) was very, very nice. Too bad the owner isn't the same. Maybe she was having a bad day. Either way there is an art to customer service if you're going to run properties and she didn't have it. Hope others have better luck! read more

Stayed at Two Bear Gorge over Valentines weekend and was pretty disappointed. While the cabin itself was very warm. comfortable and clean for 6 of us (hence the 1 star), we were HIGHLY disappointed with the trailer park neighborhood in which it was located. The direct 'neighbor' to the cabin was literally a trailer home junk yard with broken down cars in the back. Definitely not my idea of a relaxing scenic view. As soon as we pulled up, there was construction going on behind Two Bear Gorge and was extremely loud. My husband and I decided to take a walk down the road to try and relax a bit, and were shocked to see that the majority of that area was occupied by trailer homes. This is NOT what we were expecting at all as it is not shown in any photos. After our stay, the credit card on file was charged $300 extra by the Manager, Wenda Blankenship for damages to the fireplace which we DID NOT USE. In fact, we attempted to turn it on with the propane key on Saturday night, but it didn't work. We are NOT complainers, so we didn't notify management that it wasn't working because we assumed it was out of propane. We were told that we had attempted to use a propane fireplace as a wood burning fireplace, therefore it was ruined and melted. Nowhere in the contract did it state a $300 damage fee would be charged, let ALONE without authorization AND before the fireplace was even inspected!! This $300 was just a 'best guess' as to what it would cost for repair. Not good business. We will DEFINITELY not be back, and will encourage others to stay elsewhere if they are looking for a relaxing cabin retreat. read more

You might as well rent a motel instead- we had a horrible time. We recently stayed at the Silver Fox cabin. The area was surrounded by other homes and cabins, not secluded woods. The next door neighbor's property sits within a VERY short distance from the back porch- not spacious or isolated at all- in clear view. So, while you may want to enjoy the hot tub, he has a clear view of you in it. He also mowed the lawn until about 8pm, before he took a short break and began doing some type of metal work in his shed at about 10pm-11pm. Definitely not romantic while you sit by the fire outside. Aggressive dogs roamed the area also, including a long-haired Dachshund and a yellow mutt. So, we could not let our dogs out. We were also met by a cat that refused to leave us alone outside. You are expected to clean the jacuzzi yourself. We also lost power in the cabin in the afternoon. It basically felt like a third world country. Management informed me that they had no control over these matters so they didn't seem to care. I recommend another company altogether- other companies in Broken Bow have much more acceptable cabins and business values. read more

On the day my husband and I were supposed to come down I came down with the flu. As you all know the flu is horrible this year and of course I was inside the two weeks cancellation. My husband called just to see if they would offer anything at all and they said no we can't refund or change the dates. We were really looking forward to this trip and I couldn't help that I got the flu and they would not work with us at all. My husband even offered to get the doctors office to fax my information to see if we could get our money back or the pet fee since we didn't bring our pets and they said no exceptions. Lastly he asked if we could even get 10% off for our next visit and no reply so far. I think this is very unprofessional that you should at least be courteous and give half the money back for an illness or death or even offer cancellation insurance at an extra cost. So all in all I have the flu and my husband is home for the weekend watching our 3 month old as well as losing $380 from Cabins In Broken Bow. Our first booking with them was not good. Everybody be aware they are not willing to work with you when it comes to money. read more

I do not plan on doing business here ever again. This was an anniversary trip for my husband and I, and we really enjoyed our stay at the Sunsettin' cabin, but upon leaving we received a notification that we were being charged $140 for damage that I know we did not do. We were completely aware of the policies prior to check-in, so we made sure that we took great care of the place. We called to ask for a picture of the damage they spoke of, which is posted, and you weren't even able to tell what part of the table was damaged or if it was even in the same cabin. Also, the damage looks extremely aged as if it were done a long time ago. This makes absolutely no sense. My husband and I are honest people, and I would have noticed that type of damage upon arriving, and if we did cause that damage we would have come forward about it. I'm absolutely furious that our perfect vacation turned into this. Lesson learned, I plan on taking pictures of everything once we check-in. If this is how business is done with these cabins, I don't see myself booking a future stay. I feel utterly robbed. read more

Our trip is one week away and we already have problems with customer service. Buyer beware. Our initial itemized invoice did not include the pet deposit even though we entered the reservation with pets. I immediately contacted them and requested a change expecting the deposit to be $75 according to what I read on the website. I asked for a revised invoice 3 times and never got one until one week before the trip. Turns out the pet deposit was twice what I thought it was. It was my mistake. I misunderstood the deposit policy. I would never have booked the cabin with that high a deposit. Rather than compromise on the fee the owner cancelled our reservation and refunded our money. Vacation ruined. Won't use this company again. read more

Let me begin this review with a little back story. My friends have been coming to this location and staying at these cabins for the last several years for Labor Day. Usually they would spend 3 days, including fun at the cabin, floating the river, and simply enjoying the time with family and friends as the summer is coming to an end. I have heard good things about these cabins in the past but due to my work schedule, I have never been able to attend. Now to 2018, I worked out a plan to ensure I was able to attend this year's festivities. I requested comp time several months ago and was super excited to get to participate this year. My wife, two kids, and myself were set to go. We were planning on staying at two separate cabins with almost 20 other individuals. The cabins were booked in the spring of this year, which was early enough to ensure we got the cabins we needed. We were all set with kayak rentals and were planning on spending over $800 for the entire trip. This was not a cheap trip for a three day weekend, but it was worth it to spend time with my friends and family. Let me also throw this out there, that most of my "friends" are individuals that served this great country in their respective military branches, including myself. This will make a little more sense on why I say this in a minute. I now work in law enforcement, and again this will make more sense in a minute. Now, to two weeks ago. Our trip coordinator made the final payment to the cabin company, several thousands of dollars mind you, and all was going as planned. So we thought...... Our coordinator was told either the same day or next day, not sure which, that our cabins, which were the best ones to accommodate our large party, were no longer available. Apparently the company told him that there were issues with one of the cabins. It was still a month out, which should have been enough time to fix any issues, and this information seemed odd to our coordinator. He continued to push the issue to find out what was going on. After pushing hard enough, he was finally told that the company representative had lied and that they double booked the cabin. After a lengthy discussion between our coordinator and the representative, he was told that he would not receive a refund but they would put us in two cabins that were left over, which by our count would not accommodate the size of our party. This discussion continued for several days with continued pressure from our coordinator. I was appalled by the lack of cooperation from the company when they told us that we would need to "just sleep on the floor" when they realized there was not enough room for everyone. Again after several discussions, a corporate meeting, and a continuous back and forth on their word, the company has finally agreed to refund our money. I believe they did this due to the issues I will bring up in the following paragraph. Here are my thoughts. First of all, being a military veteran, I have been treated very well at places and not so well at others. But I have never been so disrespected and blatantly lied to and swindled like this company has. Secondly, being in law enforcement, I know this company did nothing short fraud. When you obtain money, as they did from our coordinator, with the sole intent of not providing the services they promised (knowing they double booked it and knew we would not get the cabins when the final payment was received, without saying a word), this is considered fraud. This is a crime, punishable as a misdemeanor , in the state of Oklahoma. But here is the funny thing, the value of this whole trip for the cabins was over $1000.00 dollars which would elevate this crime of fraud to a felony. Things get pretty serious when individuals realize they have committed a crime of that extent. Again, this review is not meant to complain, as much as it is to inform. I hope this becomes a learning experience for all parties involved and know that life will move on. Just would not recommend this company to my worst enemies. read more

We rented a premium cabin for our close friends and family in the early spring and were told just a few weeks prior to our Labor Day vacation that there was an issue. After further questioning, it became a maintenance issue. Then the company finally admitted that they were lying and gave our cabin to someone else. Our party of 14 were forced into separate cabins that were not even close together. And when we found there was not enough bed space for everyone in our party, we were told to sleep on the floor. read more
