Original response from Cabins in Broken Bow on my Google review.
    Aaron B.

This is a warning: look at any other company to book with. If you have ANY problems, they will ultimately find a way to blame you. It's like trying to communicate with an angsty teenager. REVIEW: After looking through the reviews, it's clear the company is defensive and rude to those that had a poor stay. We were one of those. This was a listing found on VRBO. On the listing, WiFi was listed as an included amenity. Upon arrival, we placed about 10 calls with no response about how to get in. It took us 3 1/2 hours to get a reply. (We found out afterwards there was a "kink" in the system where the information about the cabin somehow didn't go out when it was supposed to a week prior). Once we finally got in we saw no information about WiFi. Both my wife and I do remote work and began to worry. When we called back we were told it was NOT listed as an amenity... on the "cabinsforbrokenbow" site. We took screenshots of our VRBO information, just in case it was taken down, and sure enough, it was. The listing cannot currently be found on VRBO. After emailing and requesting a partial refund we were met with doubt and requests for pictures of "proof". We are still in the middle of talking with these people but it appears they don't like being called out and get extremely defensive. The fact is, this is FALSE ADVERTISING, accidental or not. PS the cabin itself was garbage. Limited resources (no salt, pepper or other spices). a charcoal grill that looks like it was made by a cave man. An AC unit that's as loud as WWII itself. A bathroom door that gets stuck and requires the force of a Greek god to open. One nightstand per bedroom. A hot tub that's jets only half work and lights don't work at all. A collection of Blu-ray discs but only a normal DVD player. Sticky island and cabinets. No instructions on how to use the puzzle shower. And the list goes on... sound like it's worth $400 a night total?

This place is AMAZING!!! The cabin is absolutely beautiful and is very well kept. It is also very spacious. The hot tub was nice and clean and there was a very beautiful view. The cabin came with all the dishes and cooking utensils. They also supplied towels and a washer and dryer. There isn't a dish washer but that was not a problem at all. We will definitely return.

Rented Bear hollow for Mothers day weekend and when we walked in we noticed there was no central heating/air. No where on their description does it state that. So the 1st night was so hot the only room with a unit is the Queen bedroom which was occupied by our friends so needless to say we got very little sleep so the 2nd night we ended up on the couch and recliner because it was just too hot and stuffy. The 3rd night I went in to get ready to attempt to sleep in the room again after we bought a box fan and I pulled back the sheets and found a bed bug!!! I reached out to management and 2 ladies came unannounced and went to look at the bed and I was told someone would be in contact and I have yet to hear anything. I've also sent an email and another text but nothing. This is BAD BUSINESS especially for a retuen customer. I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND them.

Cabins in Broken Bow Pet Policy

My family and I have visited Broken Bow at least 2-3 times a year over the past 12 years. Unfortunately, our stay a couple of weeks ago at one of the properties with Cabins in Broken Bow was the most unpleasant travel experience. The cabin was outstanding, but the property management company has some major issues. To start, please be aware that you are being monitored and recorded by video and audio upon your arrival. At the very least, there is a Ring Doorbell, though we truly felt there was other surveillance. I can understand the concern for security however we have never stayed at a place that did not, at least, notify you in advance that you were being monitored. We've stayed at dozens of cabins in the area, not to mention numerous AirBnBs and other vacation rentals across the country. We have never felt such an uneasy invasion of our vacation privacy before. The property management company began calling and texting upon our arrival, commenting on our dogs. Despite a pet deposit being paid and the cabin obviously being pet-friendly with a built-in dog kennel under the stairs, we were strong-armed into paying an additional fee for our dogs. The rental agreement even clearly said, in writing: "The maximum pet allowance is 4 per cabin." There was absolutely NO bathroom tissue in the entire cabin. The rental agreement did state that each of the 3 bathrooms would have 3 rolls, yet there was not even a single scrap to be found... like not even a roll on the holders in a single one of the bathrooms. My husband had to drive to the convenience store to purchase some since our two kids really couldn't wait after a 3.5-hour drive. Someone did eventually bring some, but not before we were forced to buy some ourselves. In addition, the cabin clearly had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. The floors were filthy, with leaves scattered, when we entered. We had to clean off the remnants of food from the stovetop. The hot tub was set at 88 degrees so we were unable to use it the first evening of our trip, as the January evening air was too cold to enjoy it. We tidied up and raised the heat on the hot tub, in hopes of settling in for the first evening of our vacation. The WiFi worked fine the first evening, but we were unable to connect at all the rest of the stay. The TV in the living area would never connect to DirectTV. The TV in the master bedroom asked for an Amazon Pin Code in order to attempt to switch to YouTube, Netflix, DirectTV, or anything at all. We had asked the woman who dropped off the toilet tissue about the hot tub heater and the living area TV issue and she said someone would be over to take a look the following day. On the second day, we had started a small campfire in the sunken fire pit area that was surrounded by gravel. During this time, I had reached out to Cabins in Broken Bow by text, asking about the TV/WiFi issues and the propane heater that was by the hot tub. Eventually, the campfire had burned down to smoking embers, awaiting marshmallows later in the evening. We went to get dinner down the road and soon, after we left, the phone was blowing up with text messages and phone calls from them. The first thing: "Have you guys left a fire unattended with wood stacked all around?" First, if there was any danger that a fire would have spread, we would have tried to put it out before leaving for a short time. Second, if they want guests to be able to put out a fire in the firepit, they need to be sure that a hose is within reach, as there was none. The nearest hose was down a hill and could not stretch to the fire pit! Further, how did they know that all of us left and what was going on if they were not monitoring our actions? This was our first time staying with Cabins at Broken Bow and we will never rent from them again. I should have taken the time to read other reviews and reviews on other sites, because this company has a lot of complaints against them. We've stayed at cabins with a couple of companies in the Broken Bow area 6-10 times and have never had any problems or complaints against us. My family is planning on purchasing a cabin in Broken Bow and we care for the cabins that we stay at in the same way we would hope someone would care for our cabin, if they were a guest. Being constantly monitored and nit-picked is un-nerving and very poor business practice. Avoid Cabins in Broken Bow! Please take the time to read reviews, as I did not. There are many other companies in the area that are more hospitable and have much better business ethics.

We had a nice stay at our Cabin Bear Hollow. We chose it because of the fenced in back yard for dogs. That was nice. It was super rocky and not much of a yard. But they could at least hang out for a while not on a leash. When arriving at hw cabin I was surprised to see that it was very close to other cabins and they are doing tons of road work in front of the cabin. The cabin itself looks like a little Shanty. Not much to look at. But when we went inside, it was so cute and nice. The table was set and they turned on the tv with soft music playing. It was a nice surprise. There were lots and lots and lots of rules EVERYWHERE! We were quite afraid to really touch anything! But we used the Hot tub and it was nice and we used the pots and pans for cooking our dinners and breakfast. The cabin had 3 beds but we only used one and it was comfortable. My one and only real compliant.... day two our bedroom came down with a super super fishy smell! I checked everything! Couldn't find where it was coming from. Until I bent down to get a shoe from under the bed. It was coming from under the cabin. We figured that it was either a dead animal or possibly old water under the porch from the hot tub. Our stay here was really nice.

Two Bear Gorge - Master bedroom
    Vinita D.

We stayed at the Two Bear Gorge cabin in mid-October and it was perfect. The hot tub was awesome and had multicolored lights you could change. The mattresses aren't the most comfortable but I don't expect them to be Tempurpedic ones anyway. There are two bedrooms on the first floor and then there are stairs that lead only up the third room that is placed in a loft kinda way (no door). We ended up bringing our own shampoo and conditioner as they do not supply them. They will, however, provide two small soap bars for the sink and shower as well as some toilet paper. There are a bunch of warnings to not break anything and to follow the rules on signs inside the cabin. Otherwise you'll get charged... dun dun dun. But at least they include some pamphlets of what you can do around there as well as complimentary hot chocolate packets, tea bags, and coffee grounds. I wish I stayed longer than the 2 nights we were there! Kayaking, hiking, grocery store, etc. were all close by car. The cabin has that wonderful home-y feel to it that'll make you want to come back.

We have never had any problems with the cabins that we have stayed at for all the years going. Well, this year was different. The cabin was nice but when you walked in after the entry way there was a large hump in the floor that we kept tripping on. Then we noticed that water was dripping from the ceiling. Then Sat afternoon, 2 of the 3 AC's stopped working, they froze up. I contacted the manager by text, email and calling. He never responded. I called Monday and again Tuesday, he answered and then hung up so I called again. He answered and said he would look into it. He said the hump in the floor just happened and that it was something underneath that was causing the issue. I informed him that I didn't believe that it just happened and that it was because of the AC leaking from the ceiling causing the floor to buckle. He would never take may call after that or respond to my texts. He sent me a text yesterday after I threatened to contact the BBB and to write a bad review. His text said I sent you an email, lol. His email said that his AC tech couldn't find anything wrong and that they didn't have any issues with the people that stayed there before us. With this long story, PLEASE DO NOT BOOK with Broken Bow Adventures. His voicemail and website say Luxury Cabins, they are NOT. Even in the bathrooms, they have old plastic bathtubs with showers.

Upon arrival at around 8PM, we had to call so the inn keeper could let us in, then we got a tour, and were shown upstairs to our room: #4. The floors are creaky with charm, but there's a private bathroom in the room, window-unit AC, and a large and powerful space heater (we were toasty on a freezing night). So much personality and personal touches here. A modest, but complimentary, selection of snacks and drinks are available in various places, too! Upon arrival we received a warm greeting from the gentleman at the front desk and he showed us to our ground floor room. The decor in the hallway set the tone (rather rundown but featuring displays about the area and history of the hotel), one of the rooms we passed was missing a door and had a bed sheet covering the door way, perhaps it was being rehabbed? Our room was clean, sheets were nice and the beds were comfy but the room didn't feel finished (bare concrete floor, exposed pipes and electric lines from the room above running along the ceiling). The bathroom was clean but tiny and a bit rundown. After seeing the room for the first time, I'm certain that had I been with my wife, she would have insisted we get back in the car and keep driving. The hotel restaurant is closed for business (not sure if that is temporary or permanent) but that was definitely the only attractive room in the building. The whole marketing emphasis of this place is that it's "historic" but it's only from the 1940's, my home is much older and I've never thought of it as historic. Frankly, it felt like the whole "historic" thing was just an excuse for being so shabby. All in all I'd say that whoever is in charge of cleaning is doing a wonderful job but the whole place is rundown and desperately in need of restoration. You will be hard pressed to find somewhere decent to eat in town. We received a couple of recommendations for "El Rancho Mexican Grill" and it was pretty awful.

TERRIBLE customer service ruined a perfect fall weekend with my kids…read more I initially requested a very nice cabin near Broken Bow Lake which was listed as "available" on VRBO, only to get a bait-and-switch "I'm sorry, that cabin is not available, but we have other cabins..." Of course, the 'other' cabins aren't as nice as the one listed on VRBO. After confirming by email that I'd like another available cabin... no response. Several calls to the property owner with no answer and a full voicemail box. Finally able to talk with Sheila two days later and she tells me the SECOND cabin I requested was now unavailable. After explaining the situation to her, she confirms it's actually ME who has reserved the cabin... and she'll get back to me with details on location and payment. She doesn't. Weeks go by and still no details on our upcoming trip. Multiple unanswered calls to the property manager (voicemail is still full) with nothing. We opted to rent 'Lost in the Music' from Hidden Hills. It's an amazingly beautiful 1 bedroom cabin with an upstairs loft nestled deep in the woods. The cabin cost for the weekend was $908.38. Yes, this is costly so surely 1 would expect their experience to perfect with no issues for concerns. *We arrived on Friday and within the 1st hour of settling in we discovered a dirty cookie sheet stored in the cabinet. I immediately placed it in the dishwasher as the smell was bad. I took this as a pure oversight on the cleaning crews part. *After taking a shower I noticed the water was not draining quickly. I looked down and noticed the drain was covered with brown hair. (I'm bald so this wasn't my hair). Also no one else had used the shower so this was not caught by the cleaning crew. Here's where the story gets detailed. Please note the 2 issues I just mentioned were not a big deal but I felt like they should definitely be mentioned. BTW these two incidents were mentioned to the management group via a text message when they occurred but I did not receive any response back. Back in 2014 I rented a cabin from Hidden Hills that was not clean and had many pieces of broken furniture. I shared my experience on several website only to be contacted by Angie-General Manager demanding that I remove my review. I was told they needed to be removed as they were slander. I was advised that if they were not removed she would get their legal team on me. I never removed my post as they were 100% factual and the truth. You'll notice when Hidden Hills receives a negative review it's always Angie replying back threatening legal action. She supposedly banned me at that time and black listed me with other companies. This was not true as I've rented from Blue Beaver Luxury Cabins with never any issues. As you can see in the pictures I've attached she is now threatening me again. At the end of the day I never asked for a refund or any type of credit. I was simply providing Hidden Hills feedback to ensure they knew of the concerns when it came to their cleaning crew. As you can see by the pics I was again threatened by Angie if I shared this experience. Now that I have been banned again from Hidden Hills I wanted to share this experience so you'll see what hateful management they have. Also please note this particular cabin is not safe for small children. All wkend we were in fear that my grandson fit between the wiring on the stairway. This is real concern at the landing on top of the stairwell. If you decide to visit Broken Bow please note there are SOOOOOO many other rental cabin companies that are more deserving of our hard earned money. Please note that I emailed Angie asking her to send me an apology and all would be forgiven. She refused with no response back to my request.
