Holy smokes this place is immaculate! +2 stars easy to find... with the (Waze app vs. Google maps.) Great location +1 star restaurant and grocery store within a short drive.... I can't believe how awesome the area is and is upcoming!!!! Beautiful spacious rooms - the floor to ceiling windows is a fantastic touch! The views and the layout!!!+ 3 stars They have it set up very nice. The downstairs full bathroom was too notch and smart by the builders! There was so much to do. The arcade game, the shuffleboard, the play set outside, covered deck, gas grill, hot tub, games in the cabinet, go for a walk/jog.... the house is fully loaded! Excellent neighborhood and scenery.+2 stars... Trash collection happened often.... I never felt uncomfortable.... except when it was time to leave +1 Star Highly recommend for any event or lodging need! If you don't believe me... 360° tour it yourself! FYI. I know a lot of my friends and family go to Broken Bow. OK…read more We go every year, sometimes 2-3 times a year. We have never had any problems with the cabins that we have stayed at for all the years going. Well, this year was different. The cabin was nice but when you walked in after the entry way there was a large hump in the floor that we kept tripping on. Then we noticed that water was dripping from the ceiling. Then Sat afternoon, 2 of the 3 AC's stopped working, they froze up. I contacted the manager by text, email and calling. He never responded. I called Monday and again Tuesday, he answered and then hung up so I called again. He answered and said he would look into it. He said the hump in the floor just happened and that it was something underneath that was causing the issue. I informed him that I didn't believe that it just happened and that it was because of the AC leaking from the ceiling causing the floor to buckle. He would never take may call after that or respond to my texts. He sent me a text yesterday after I threatened to contact the BBB and to write a bad review. His text said I sent you an email, lol. His email said that his AC tech couldn't find anything wrong and that they didn't have any issues with the people that stayed there before us. With this long story, PLEASE DO NOT BOOK with Broken Bow Adventures. His voicemail and website say Luxury Cabins, they are NOT. Even in the bathrooms, they have old plastic bathtubs with showers.

We snagged a room here to get us the majority of the way from Dallas to Eagle Rock Loop (Arkansas) so we could knock it out without a 4.5h drive leading up to it. I am so glad we did! Upon arrival at around 8PM, we had to call so the inn keeper could let us in, then we got a tour, and were shown upstairs to our room: #4. The floors are creaky with charm, but there's a private bathroom in the room, window-unit AC, and a large and powerful space heater (we were toasty on a freezing night). So much personality and personal touches here. A modest, but complimentary, selection of snacks and drinks are available in various places, too! All in all, I'd definitely come back and stay a little longer!

I stayed here with a buddy on a road trip to Texas and it was definitely unusual…read more The neighboring national park is beautiful but the town of Talihina is a grim place, avoid if possible, it's definitely seen better days. Upon arrival we received a warm greeting from the gentleman at the front desk and he showed us to our ground floor room. The decor in the hallway set the tone (rather rundown but featuring displays about the area and history of the hotel), one of the rooms we passed was missing a door and had a bed sheet covering the door way, perhaps it was being rehabbed? Our room was clean, sheets were nice and the beds were comfy but the room didn't feel finished (bare concrete floor, exposed pipes and electric lines from the room above running along the ceiling). The bathroom was clean but tiny and a bit rundown. After seeing the room for the first time, I'm certain that had I been with my wife, she would have insisted we get back in the car and keep driving. The hotel restaurant is closed for business (not sure if that is temporary or permanent) but that was definitely the only attractive room in the building. The whole marketing emphasis of this place is that it's "historic" but it's only from the 1940's, my home is much older and I've never thought of it as historic. Frankly, it felt like the whole "historic" thing was just an excuse for being so shabby. All in all I'd say that whoever is in charge of cleaning is doing a wonderful job but the whole place is rundown and desperately in need of restoration. You will be hard pressed to find somewhere decent to eat in town. We received a couple of recommendations for "El Rancho Mexican Grill" and it was pretty awful.

TERRIBLE customer service ruined a perfect fall weekend with my kids…read more I initially requested a very nice cabin near Broken Bow Lake which was listed as "available" on VRBO, only to get a bait-and-switch "I'm sorry, that cabin is not available, but we have other cabins..." Of course, the 'other' cabins aren't as nice as the one listed on VRBO. After confirming by email that I'd like another available cabin... no response. Several calls to the property owner with no answer and a full voicemail box. Finally able to talk with Sheila two days later and she tells me the SECOND cabin I requested was now unavailable. After explaining the situation to her, she confirms it's actually ME who has reserved the cabin... and she'll get back to me with details on location and payment. She doesn't. Weeks go by and still no details on our upcoming trip. Multiple unanswered calls to the property manager (voicemail is still full) with nothing. Finally, I reach Sheila (who is driving) and she promises to call me back with details - this is 3 days before our trip. No call back. More calls the following day. No answer. Full voicemail box. Finally, 2 days before the planned trip with my kids, on the most perfect fall weekend, I reach Sheila who says she doesn't have a reservation in my name. She says she tried to call me back to tell me - she didn't (there's this thing called caller ID). Now she doesn't have ANY cabins available. In fact no one in the area has cabins available. I actually don't know how this outfit manages to run a business. This was the most disorganized, poorly executed customer service experience ever. No explanation. No apology. Nothing.

The dishes in the cabinets had a greasy film and dried food particles. The hot tub had a really funky smell that we noticed on the 2nd day. I got a really painful skin infection from using this hot tub. I've stayed in several cabins in Beavers Bend and they have all been great but, this was way below par. The manager agreed to refund the $60 cleaning charge and one night rental but, did not follow through on her promise. These people are super shady! I will not be using this rental company in the future. Buyer beware!

If you look on the map it looks like you are in the middle of a pasture, and that's sort of how it feels. It's the most comfortable place I've ever stayed. And the owners, Barbara and Edward Clare are almost like family to all of their guests. When you stop in the main house they have a fresh baked loaf of bread for you--there's butter and blackberry jelly in your fridge at one of the two cottages. Now if you are looking for 5-star accommodations with the finest spa amenities, this is not your place. If you are looking for a country cabin with a fire pit, comfy bed, rustic beauty of the mountains all around you--then you have hit pay-dirt. This is the only place I stay in the area. Based on when you books you will pay $80-$100 per night, less than most hotels in the area. We stayed the night before in Mena and regretted it. The cottage has a fully stocked kitchen with coffee, hot tea and enough spices, pots, pans and dishes for you to cook what ever you want. I make breakfast every time I'm there. I grab some eggs and ham at the local convenience store and I'm set. The bed is comfy and the bathrooms is super clean. They have DISH Network, so you can watch television or enjoy the selection of VHS tapes. But really you should go sit on the porch and see the stars or listen for the wildlife to come scurrying by.

I hate to be effusive but, once inside, the phrases didn't stop. The cabin is at once elegant and unassuming. It's simply built and decorated in a wonderful way. I can't say enough about the quality of the craftmanship. No worries about 'pictures not matching the experience' with this property. You won't be let down and left wondering if the photos were actually taken at the place in question. Here, the photos don't do it justice. It's nestled in the woods with trees all around, but has a convenient drive up so it's not a hassle getting luggage inside. The views are stunning, and the appointments super comfortable, from the beds and linens, to the shower/bath features and amenities, to the Apple tv casting, letting me cast from my Apple phone/ipad onto the tv (we were able to download movies to our ipad then cast them to the tv for viewing). We're hoping to hop in the hot tub on our next visit! And, don't think that just because you're 'in the woods' you're cut off from civilization! There is plenty of "support services" nearby, including night spots, restaurants, and so much 'outdoorsy' stuff to do. If you're looking for a 'little cabin in the woods' that is superbly comfortable and simply a delight to look at, then you'd be hard pressed not to give this beautiful place a look.
