We were so satisfied with Cabinets OC that I wanted to submit my first ever Yelp review, once we'd had a chance to live with our upgrades for a while. Now after enjoying our new kitchen over the past several months, enough time has passed and yes, I still feel 100% confident with the results. Here is my Cabinets OC review. 5 out of 5 stars for Cabinets OC! We love our new kitchen cabinets and we would not hesitate to work with Jeff at Cabinets OC in the future. Now, If you have the time, reading this full review may help you decide if the installer you are considering is the right fit. Because you're not just giving someone your money and hoping they will deliver great results, you're giving them and their workers access to your home and family. For us, that came down to a matter of trust. We had approached many of our neighbors who had work done on their homes and none of them would refer their contractors as they were unhappy with their results. So, without any referrals we began interviewing several kitchen cabinet installers ranging from the Home Improvement stores to some of Newport Coast's most elite kitchen remodelers and cabinet installers. The first thing that stood out for us at Cabinets OC, besides their welcoming and friendly nature, was that their designer/project manager invested the most time explaining the process and actually designed an initial three dimension kitchen plan during our visit. We wanted to eliminate our outdated design with it's obtrusive peninsula and open up our kitchen without losing wall space and increase our cabinet storage. Then, they came to our home and continued to refine the plan with measurements and suggestions to improve our design. Plus, we found the quality of their cabinet materials, cabinet construction, door designs and finishes equal to the very best we had seen. So we were very happy to find that their initial estimate was within our budget. Additionally, Cabinets OC had their own on-premises cabinet manufacturing facility right off their large showroom floor. I cannot stress enough how important this is. You see, with all the other installers, if a cabinet box didn't fit or was defective, they had to re-order that unit from a cabinet manufacturer and our kitchen could remain unfinished for 30-90 days until that manufacturer could replace the unit and the installer could schedule the installation. As you can imagine, this disconnect between the installer and manufacturer also complicated the warranty process. Since Cabinets OC had their own factory and installers, this scenario couldn't happen to us. Still, we were concerned about making the right decision. What really gave us confidence to contract the project, was when Jeff, who owns and runs Cabinets OC, stated, "If anything comes up that you are not happy with, call me and I will try to do what I can, to make it right." Hearing that, we felt we could trust Jeff and his people. I am happy to report that most everything did go right. But, as we learned, any time you work on a home, surprises happen. I can say that the couple of times something unexpected came up, Jeff was a man of his word and helped us quickly arrive at a solution that equaled or improved our original design. Jeff always answered his phone, texted or called back, the few times I called. Jeff personally came to our home on day one at major stages of our project and for the final walkthrough. This really impressed me, as Jeff and his project managers have multiple residential and commercial projects throughout Southern California. We found that his installers, (Cabinet, Countertop, Electrical and Plumbing) were all friendly and excellent at their craft. Since we remained in our home during the project, having punctual, respectful and trustworthy workers who kept our home clean and safe was extremely important. Our beautiful cabinets look like they'll last forever. They are made with thick, quality grade plywood boxes and drawers, with wooden door frames and drawer fronts. We are very happy with the quality of materials, the seamless fit and the flawless finish. If you have taken the time to fully read this review, you are probably as discriminating as we are and like us, you have likely had work on your home where you may not have been 100% satisfied. Their team were on schedule, hard-working and considerate This project involved a complete kitchen remodel that involved the living room, family room. We were able to design our new vanity and linen cabinet and received a "Made in America" quality product. The value was reasonable, the stain finish is well done. During installation by our contractor there was an error drilling one of the pulls, Cabinets OC made a quick repair and matched the stain color. I suggest you request a small container of the stain color for any touch ups that might be needed as they don't save your stain once your project is completed. I called this company wanting bids on 3 different jobs. We spoke briefly last week and arranged a time to speak more in depth this week and plan a site visit. After calling several times (one call on Monday, Tuesday and two on Wednesday. Left pleasant messages each time requesting my contact person Renne' to please call back ), Today I was just told that they weren't interested in my business. I don't know if this is prejudice or insanity at work but it must be nice to be able to rudely and crudely tell a perspective client after one very short introductory phone call that you aren't interested in my business and then they simply hung up the phone. This company apparently has a problem with people of color. Wake up ... this isn't the 60's anymore ... get your hatred and prejudice in check. It's a new day. Seek professional help. read more

I hired Cabinets OC to do complete remodel of our vacation townhome in Irvine. I had the design from my architect completed in advance which I gave to Jeff along with pictures of materials I want to use. Jeff put together an estimate and contract quickly with all the detail behind the cabinet materials, parts, countertops, tile allowances, flooring cost (I wanted herringbone pattern), etc. Being a picky client, I wanted detail in the thickness of glass to be used, drywall finish level 5, lighting brand, etc. Jeff worked with me on this and documented it in the contract. The place took 5 months to complete (I was told 4 but it took longer bc we called them off for a month when we stayed there at the latter end of construction for 3 weeks when it was almost complete). My wife and I are very happy with the work and the level of quality is far and above what other companies quoted they could deliver at his pricing. DO NOT USE CABINETS OC!!! Zero stars! We are 3 months in to a whole house remodel of 3 bathrooms, kitchen, and flooring with Cabinets OC and nothing is completed. We do not have a working bathroom and the kitchen is a disaster with holes cut in every wall. They have made mistakes every step of the way. Wrong tile trim in one bathroom, faucet plumbing too low in another bathroom that won't fit with the vanity, incorrect electric work for the appliances in the kitchen even though specs were all provided in the beginning. All of their mistakes require things to be ripped out and redone. I am not confident that they will even follow through and complete this job. They lack communication and ethics and are unreliable and incompetent. They have damaged our existing walls and our brand new stair banister. It has been a nightmare with no end or resolution in sight. Jeff makes excuses and Marcos doesn't even respond. There is no plan or schedule for completion. read more

I needed a very small repair done on a single cabinet door to repair a hinge and found this company does repairs (not many do); I requested an estimate, the estimator came out, spent less than 10 minutes and said I would have an estimate in a few days. After multiple calls to them, received an estimate on day number 5 and the estimate was astronomical. Turns out they have a minimum charge for repairs, why I had to wait 5 days to find this out?? Went to company number 2 and the work was done in 15 minutes at a fair price. read more

I had the BEST remodeling experience of my life with Cabinets OC and we remodeled several times in the past! We redid our kitchen completely custom and refaced our laundry room with this super honest and professional company. Jeff, the owner is the most zen guy you could ever meet. He is calm, and problems solving, always with a smile on his face. His project manager, Fernando, has the same attitude and the workers are ALL competent and hard working. Rosas for the cabinets, Rutillo for plumbing and electricity work, Miguel for the lacquer, Jaime for the fabrication of the quartzite and the quartz, Cesar and Jorge for the wonderful tiles work in the kitchen and laundry room and anyone who came to our house (sorry I don't remember the names!) brought a smile and outstanding working skills. This company puts the customer first and I mean it. Their work will be done on time; they care that no mess or dust is left in your home; if there is a mistake they fixed it right away without pointing fingers and finding excuses. Before hiring them I called several customers of theirs and they all talked greatly about Cabinets OC. I joined the many many happy customers of this company. Contacted Jeff @ OC Cabinets from my demo and subfloor contractor reference. New kitchen cabinets were expensive and with installation just not practical with a small amount of insurance claim money from a water damage. The OC Cabinets crew including Fernando were highly adept and skilled and were able to install the old base cabinets in one day. They had to install one side of the "L" along with 2 pantry's without a box and had just the face. No problem for them. They worked hard and fast and completed the entire job within 10 hours.
