I had a wonderful experience with Darcy at Cabinets by Design! I wanted to add a bank of cabinets to our dining room in our newly built home. When I first called, Darcy was very responsive, sending the quote and answering questions quickly. She also came out personally to measure the space for the cabinets and offered wonderful advice for design. For example, when trying to decide how deep we wanted the cabinets, she suggested to keep the cabinets within a certain depth so that the light fixture would still be centered above the dining table. I didn't even think about how the cabinet size would affect placement of the table and chandelier. After we placed the order, the cabinets arrived on time and the installer came a couple days after. Our installer Ricky did an excellent job and was efficient and polite. Now that the cabinets are installed, I am so happy. They are my favorite upgrade to our home. I am thankful to Darcy and Cabinets by Design for doing a phenomenal job! I will post an update with a photo once the dining room is complete with dining table and decor. read more

Great to work with, easy going no hard sell. When Chris was not available one of the other staff members would answer my question. Recommend? Yes, yes! Not even sure if the job is completed. Lots of loose ends and materials still here waiting for what? I wish I knew. I did ask. And I signed a contract 2 months ago. Of course, when you pay anyone the balance that they demand before a job is completed, they forget about you. Unreliable installer and more than one time. They wanted paid-in-full before installation. Not a peep about how the project is looking or even examined. My friend who is savvy to this industry had to point out the problems. I think, maybe, one was addressed but still waiting in Oblivion. I was concerned about the size of the island, but was assured it was OK, I wasn't taken seriously, I guess. It seems too big for my tiny kitchen/house. Darcy told me I had to get a 30" sink, but could I not find any in stores, but the installer told me I could get a 33". Conflicting information. I went through the ringer and travels getting to the bottom of what I should get. Another issues is whether or not the island has to be permanently 'set'. I got conflicting answers on that too. Installer says, no, because there's no electric running through it. Many of us are new to getting a new kitchen. I needed a complete new kitchen after a fire. We need help every step of the way. The clincher is that Darcy's price was way more than anyone else's. I priced 3 other cabinet companies, but went with my friend's recommendation. When you're paying more, you expect better service overall. Maybe some companies feel that they have your business because a friend is recommending them. read more

Darcy was awesome. She has an amazing ability with cabinet design for utility, function, and beauty. She really knows her trade and was delightful to work with. Anytime we experienced a glitch with installation, she got it resolved. And her bid was significantly lower than others I received. I would definitely work with her again! read more

We looked at several cabinet makers, including national chains, discount warehouses, and custom makers, and we couldn't find anyone who would listen to our needs and wishes....until we found Haley at Cabinets By Design. My wife and I loved her energy and were impressed by her knowledge and design abilities. Where others said it couldn't be done, Haley said, "Why not?" and found a way to make it work and, mosy importantly, within the budget we had planned for. The cabinets were done in the time they were promised, and the install crew was nothing short of miraculous. Every aspect of working with Haley and Cabinets By Design was stress free, and the end result was beyond our expectations. You can't go wrong with Cabinets By Design. read more

Darcy was amazing throughout the entire process. It was a long process with us deciding on the color and manufacturer. Darcy was patient and answering all questions. Her design sense was excellent that helped us have the kitchen of our dreams. We tried several cabinet stores and Cabinets by Design was the top choice for many ways. We also like a locally owned business to support. The final step of installation was excellent. The attention to detail was excellent The installation team was excellent, very experienced and patient, not a rushed crew. The quality of the cabinets was excellent, built very well compared to other manufactures out there. We did a lot of comparison research of other options. Their choices of manufactures reflect their many years of experience of knowing the best value for the quality. Thanks again to Darcy and her team of installers! read more

We just built our home and had Haley, from Cabinets By Design, help us through the process of picking out cabinets for our kitchen and our laundry room. She was so incredibly helpful, patient and kind from the beginning of the process until it's completion. She even drove from Phoenix to Wickenburg to take a look at the color of the cabinets that were different than I had anticipated. She had them removed, the color corrected and then reinstalled, with no extra cost. She followed up with emails several times. The installers were very fast and efficient and we are very happy with the finished product. We highly recommend Cabinets By Design. read more

My fear of going to a cabinet store instead of big box store came true...I felt as though my kitchen remodeling was not enough money to get the attention I wanted as a customer. Initially all was good until the diagram came . I had a couple of changes and wanted to expand the remodeling but communication deteriorated. I was told via email that it was crazy busy and then she said she did not come after 3. I waited 2 days for a response to emails and was ready to pay to get it started. Darcy knew I had no kitchen due to a water leak damage yet there was no urgency to work with me. I had to contact another company. I felt my job was not important to this company. read more

Update: my countertop cracked and had to be pulled out and replaced. The countertop was not istalled correctly and the cabinets were not level. I had to pay for the plumbing to be redone as well as replace the backsplash that had to be removed. Oh and now the cabinet paint is cracking. Overall terrible experience. read more

Poor service and poor communication... products are not installed correctly and stick out way too far! The designer was flaky and could not communicate accurately. The whole process was a nightmare. read more

We recently moved to Lakeside Arizona and wanted to remodel our kitchen. We had gotten a quote from a big box store and their timeline was 3 months out. After meeting with Chris, his bid was considerably less, and it would take 3 weeks after the home visit for installation. Chris was great in the showroom, walked us through several different layouts and pricing options. This company was timely on every aspect. From the home visit for the final specifications, the delivery, and the installation every aspect was professional! We love our cabinets! We love the staff! Everyone went out of their way to make sure our kitchen was done the way we wanted! Stephany Borders read more

Had a great experience working with Chris to design our dream kitchen. He came out to our new house on multiple occasions. Helped us revise our design several times. He was very accommodating with our suggestions and also made great suggestions that we ultimately put into the final design. Install started on time and went completely as scheduled. The two installers that came out were friendly and did a wonderful job. The cabinets - we love them. Price quote came back thousands of dollars less than a couple other quotes. Very high quality, beautiful work. Chris also helped us find a contractor and granite fabricator to finish the project. These guys did a great job. You will not be disappointed if you go with Cabinets by Design! read more

Cabinets by Design - Kitchen cabinets from Cabinets by Design. Thanks guys!!!! - Interior Design Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Cabinets by design is a place I highly recommend. I knew very little about kitchen design and visited many different places. Chris Carlos was recommended by a friend and he met with me the next day. Not only did he spend a great deal of time listening to my wishes, he also gave me tons of options. The price was very competitive but the customer service is AMAZING! I had a small issue with one of the drawers and Chris came right out and made it right. Love this place and will definitely use them again! read more

Had a great experience working with Chris at my home. Chris came out to help design my kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Once it was done we were very happy with the final design. I was so happy I recommended him to my friend Dale to put some cabinets in his business and he was happy with the job as well. read more

You can do better going to a big box store. I did a super small kitchen. The design process was kind of fun but nothing special. The installation was certainly sub par, not on time. The finished products were poorly executed in places (cabinet doors off center). I tried to get that corrected, but no response came through. The installers clearly have no investment in the business, so they could not care less about customer satisfaction. Oh, I let the installers have my old cabinets (not a small thing). They came by to get the cabinets while I was away and somehow my bike was taken the same day from my backyard (terrible coincidence or shady, shady people). read more

Very poor quality and service. Had cabinets installed 5 years ago and the design and installation processes were challenging, to say the least. Recently went back to have some maintenance done (drawers coming off track, cabinets not shutting properly) and the staff said they'd "get back with" me. That was 6 months ago and I finally hired a handyman to do the work. Terrible experience. Would NOT recommend. read more

Mixed review. We had a full guest bathroom, master bathroom, and laundry room remodel. The cabinet quality was great and on point but the installation was a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. The installation should have taken 1 full day at the most but ended up being 5 days. After each day's work, the installer left all of his tools scattered overnight and razors exposed (dangerous as we have a young son). I constantly had to clean up afterwards. He was noisy and whistled the entire time loudly. When the installation was complete, I pointed out that the handles were noticeably different heights and the molding was not finished. The installer argued but agreed to replace at no cost. 2 weeks later another installer (we specifically requested another) came to resolve the issues and complete the job. They were quick and efficient (and were surprised at the past job's quality!) Rating 2 stars only for the cabinet quality and resolution work. read more

This company was recommended to us. Checked the website for hours. Said they were open on Saturday from 9-5. Drove from Buckeye only to find the showroom closed at 3:45. Very sad! read more

We did a total kitchen & utility room remodel. After interviewing three kitchen remodel companies we hired Cabinets by Design because it is a long standing, family owned business. We worked closely with the owner, Chris. He was extremely knowledgeable and his pricing was very competitive. We couldn't be happier with our beautiful kitchen & utility room cabinets. The installer, Roberto, went above & beyond to make sure everything was exactly as we wanted. They carry quality products & deliver the best customer service ever! We would highly recommend this company. Just call Chris, he is always there to help! read more

I love my kitchen! My experience with Cabinets by Design was fantastic! Chris introduced me to all the different cabinet lines which enabled me to choose the best cabinets for my kitchen. Darcy, the designer, measured, designed and organized my kitchen with suggestions that were excellent. Roberto did the installation. As a matter of interest, the granite fabricator who measured my counters commented on the quality of the installation and how beautiful the cabinets looked. I highly recommend using Cabinets by Design. They are a small family owned business, who cares about every aspect of the job, follows through as promised and made this client very happy. read more

Do not believe that sentence in their ad "We listen to you" There were multiple mistakes with my cabinets because she did not listen. The cabinets arrived on August 3 with the wrong finish. It took until October 3 to correct all the mistakes. Four doors had glass that were not supposed to have. There was no drawer for the silverware. she suggested a little extra pull out beside the dishwasher which would not fit and had to be scrapped. The holes for the drawer knobs were drilled wrong and the drawer fronts had to be replaced. The mixer shelf was not installed correctly and had to be redone. This was a terrible experience. Do not used this company unless you have the patience of Job and months of time to waste. The finished product actually is quite nice, but there has to be other companies which do better work. read more

This turned out to be one of the worst experiences with a contractor. Jeff was hired to have custom cabinets built for my house and to install them. The cabinets arrived but he never installed them. His installer came and looked at the job and informed me that he couldn't do the installation for the amount of money Jeff was going to pay him because there was too much customization so he left. Jeff then went dark and will not return calls, voicemails, texts or emails. I had to find someone else to do the installation. When I told the new cabinet company I found how much Jeff charged me for the cabinets, their mouths dropped open and said that I was significantly overcharged. I am now also spending more money to get the cabinets installed, which Jeff was contractually obligated to do. Since he has gone dark, my only remedy now is to sue him to collect for the installation charge. Stay away from Jeff. He is dishonest and unethical. read more
