The weather was cold and windy and thought it was going to be miserable. Fortunately we dressed appropriately and Capt. Stephen even provided us with some rain gear for an added level of warmth and protection. True to form, we arrived our first morning and Capt. Stephen had already been there for hours prepping to ensure we were ready to try and find some fish. Like the first trip he set off and strategically started working the lake.. Its amazing to watch how much effort he puts into trying to ensure you have the best experience. Both days that we fished we all limited out, stayed dry and warm and most importantly had a fantastic time. Working now to schedule our 3rd trip this upcoming spring with Capt. Stephen knowing that IF the fish are biting then without exception he will find them and teach us how to remove them from the lake and place them in the cooler.... Great guy, Great service...... I noticed that more people catch fish when the dam is releasing water, but even when the water stops flowing there's plenty of fish to be caught. On my recent visit here we noticed some Okies on the Oklahoma side doing donuts in the sandy shore and trying to do some not so awesome jumps in their Suburban, bottoming out, and getting stuck in the sand every now and then. The Suburban definitely did not have four wheel drive. This was a good show because all of us Texans on our side of the river were hoot'n when they'd occasionally got stuck. Sigh... Okies. :-P Bring a cooler with your favorite canned beverages, your Yelp koozie, relax, and enjoy fishing!

We caught 22 fish with the largest being 23.5" and the majority of the fish being at least 18". We will definitely be back. We did catch a couple of 1-2 ponders so I guess that meets his guarantee?? 2/3 the way through the trip our second boat breaks down. So instead of Dan coming out to tow it in they pulled our boat. So we had 7 people who did not get to fish their full time paid for. Dan was at dock and was only interested in the broken boat. Did not talk with us about lost time or guarantee. Just looked at my guide and said "well I gotta go" and left. I have fished with guides in several states and countries. Dan Barnett rates among the lowest. Would not recommend him to anyone.
