Also known as pill bugs or roly polys. They come out at night. The first night, there was only about a dozen of them. We dispatched them and went about our business. It seemed like they were coming out of the shower drain, so we covered it up. The second night, they doubled down. About 40 of the invaders arrived. We took care of the problem like the troopers we are. On the third night, we returned to our cabin at midnight. There was a flash mob of crustaceans waiting for us. The floors were alive with hundreds of the buggers. We swept them up and dumped them into the toilet, but they kept coming. They seemed to be coming from everywhere. Out of the woodwork. From under the bed. From the water heater closet. Fortunately, these Armadillidium Vulgare don't bite or sting. But it's not pleasant when they meet their demise under your bare feet. And it's pretty creepy when they're crawling on you in bed. In the morning, when we checked out, we reported the assault to Kelli at the front desk. She seemed a little skeptical until I showed her a picture of the toilet, loaded with a large group of captives about to meet their maker. Kelli asked why we didn't call them about the problem. The first 2 nights, it didn't seem like a big deal. The 3rd night was different. And, it was midnight. We didn't like the idea of waiting for someone to blast the bugs (and us) before we go to bed. And, we had already been informed that all other cabins had been rented. Kelli understood and wanted to offer compensation, but the manager would have to approve it. The manager was in a meeting. She offered to talk to the manager, and we would get a call from them later. Kelli called about a half hour later to tell us that the manager credited us 10% for our trouble. Well, I guess that about covers the sales tax.

The floors had duct tape stuck to the tiles, likely covering up cracks, which was a safety hazard. The kitchen was also in poor condition - there were coffee stains on the counters and crumbs left on the kitchen table from previous guests. In the bedroom, the light fixture didn't work, though there was a lamp as a workaround. Things only got worse when we pulled out the futon from the couch. The mattress was stained and dirty, with food wrappers stuck to it, indicating it hadn't been properly cleaned. To top it off, the bathroom door wouldn't lock, which was concerning for privacy and safety. While I considered filing a complaint with the office, I was hesitant as it was a weekend and I feared there would be no other cabins available. Given the high price for just two nights, I was expecting much better quality. Sadly, this cabin did not live up to the standards I was hoping for, and I left feeling truly disappointed. I really hope the property addresses these issues for future guests. Good nature views though. But for the amount I paid you could honestly get a better hotel room.

We like to think we are a group experiencing special attention, but we know that every group at Prothro UMC Retreat Center has the same idea! Great experience…read more Last night was our first time in the Grand Theater. We saw Toto in concert. The theater is quite large. Seating is on 3 levels. We sat in section 102 on the floor, row J, seats 8 and 9. This was 10 rows from the stage at nearly center. Excellent location. If I were to come here again (likely), we'd likely opt for section 202. Straight back and up a bit. The seats look more comfortable than the floor seating was. The stage is quite wide. This allows a band to spread out on stage and have great sight lines. There were several tiny stationary video cameras about the stage plus 2 IMAG camera operators who were on the floor, looking ahead at the stage. There was a tall vertical LED screen outside of the stage on both left and right sides. A video director was keeping busy switching between the fixed and IMAG cameras onto this 2 vertical screens. The sound was great. Unsure if the PA belonged to the band or the venue. The overhead arrays were well positioned. There were several bars in the theater lobby as well as several restrooms. There were plenty of ushers to help you find your seats. Leaving the concert was quick. As we were on the floor, there was a wide exit behind us on both sides of the first upper section. All in all - we quite enjoyed the Grand Theater and are making plans to return.

The merch table was situated outside of the actual area where seating and the stage was. They are doing some construction, but it didn't bother the show. There were several ways to enter the line and security helped you go through quickly. This is an even center that is soon welcoming Christina Aguilera and Sting! Very surprising for an area way out there! It is also in the hotel and casino so loads of dining options and free fountain drinks and coffee in the actual casino.

I guess I was they only one that ever tried to use the gym. The rooms were ok. I've been in worse. I didn't take any pictures but you can get a good idea by reviewing the pictures in these reviews. They have a random sink in the room. I don't know what for. They do have a coffee maker and a fridge. They have a tv but you have to pay to use it. It didn't even show basic channels without you paying. After all this, we paid $400 for one night. The most expensive room I have ever stayed in and I usually stay at 4 & 5 star hotels. This was not a pleasant experience.

We seen housekeeping staff member who was spraying deodorizer on the carpet as we were walking up the hallway I stopped her and asked her if she could come inside of our room and spray our room as well and she did. Fast forward to Sunday night we were due to leave the next morning and we were getting our items together and my husband seen a roach runoff the luggage under the sofa he pulled the sofa from the wall took a picture of the roach and then killed it after that happened I could not turn off the lights to the room cause I was scared if I turned out the lights maybe other roaches would come out so it made for a horrible last night and they need to do some extermination and some carpet cleaning, and some wall painting in that hotel. Do better ass we had three rooms as we came down as a family and was very disappointed.

Like other well thought out and designed rest area facilities, this building has two complete sets of men and women restrooms. This is so while one is closed for cleaning the other is open and available to the public. Truck parking is outdated and in need of expansion. Vehicles towing trailers or RV campers have to use truck parking too. Trucks parking on ramps is dangerous for everyone and needs to be addressed nationwide.
