I have found a quiet place. Although I'm not in Pine City everyday if I lived here I would be here often. This cabin style (well almost) walk up coffee and food service is well lit and on my visit there was no music piped in. No generic satellite service, no multi-phasing FM signal, just the murmur of people talking. This appears to be a great place for small group meetings and planning committees. I had the Roadhouse Chicken Sandwich and throughly enjoyed the fresh ingredients and especially the Honey Mustard which they state is homemade and I'm sure it is. Happy friendly smiling employees with fresh cooked small meals with kettle chips. There is street parking along a narrow street. You may have to look closely as this shop is away from the maddening crowd, between I-35 and Old hwy 61. read more

Service is always terrible here! I'm not sure how you can stay open without being friendly and happy when people come to your place of business to spend money? Maybe they should drink more coffee?!? What a great find tucked away in Pine City! This little coffee shop boasts not only a great coffee menu that rivals Starbucks or Caribou, it also has a nice menu of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. My husband and I stopped in Ft or coffee and each had the breakfast burrito and the breakfast blend coffee. Both were delicious! The burrito had a very good sausage, scrambled eggs, and what tasted like a very yummy homemade salsa. It was rolled and then grilled! Fabulous! Really not that great. Coffee was 'drinkable', but just barely. Really pretty weak. They asked me if I would like cream in my coffee and I said yes, so she just put some in behind the counter. Really? Never have I seen that done before. She said, "Yeah, we don't leave it out here." As though this was adequate explanation. Really pretty rude too. My sister and I love this place!! The hours are pretty limited so we can't always grab a coffee when we're craving, but the wait for open days is worth it! Service is sometimes slow, but the younger girls are always super friendly and willing to provide suggestions. The drive through window seems to just cause chaos and confusion so I definitely recommend ordering by walk-in. read more

Will not be back. Awful customer service. I have referred so many people to this place in the past. The atmosphere is great, however, the service is not! Very pricy items. Some staff are great; unfortunately some are not. My ticket was misplaced while waiting for my order today so I waited 30 minutes for my item. Not even an apology!! I have spent tons of money in this establishment and was told I couldn't get a condiment with my sandwich (after waiting 30 minutes for it) unless I payed for it. They charge for condiments!! I have been going here for years ordering coffee, lunch, and coffee beans. Sadly, I will not be back. read more

Cute coffee and lunch spot just off 35. If you are on your way to Duluth from the Twin Cities and are looking for a mid way place to stop and get a cappuccino or something light for lunch this would be a great choice. Though we weren't there at meal time, they have a large menu full of yummy looking salads, soups, sandwiches and wraps. Coffee was great. Selling also lots of local made arts and crafts (scarves, signs, elaborate leaf cuttings...) They could benefit from a billboard on 35 to draw more travelers in! read more

I have been ordering coffee here since high school! I have gotten to know the owner over time and she makes it enjoyable to come back. I have tried a lot of coffee from here but I've always stuck with the Mocha Bianca or Skipping Snowman. The cupcakes are always worth trying and some of the best I have ever had. Just went through the drive-thru that did not have a menu and asked a few questions. They were responded to with what my husband and I questioned as a snarky tone, but hopefully we are wrong about that. I was served an iced latte with curdled almond milk that, according to Google, I should not drink as it may result in food poisoning. Bummer. Guess we will hit up a Starbucks next time. read more

f I could give them a negative star I would. I was traveling north on 35 looking for a local coffee shop to spend my money at. Using my good friend google i found this establishment, opened their menu to ensure that they would have what i was looking for, a cafe breve. They did. Happily we hit the direction tab on the Google and drove 8 miles out of our way to Cabin Coffee Cafe. Upon our arrival i ordered a breve, the girl taking the order was unfamiliar with the drink so she asked another employee how to make it who quickly snapped at me "we don't make those here!" I stepped outside, brought up their menu on my fancy pocket computer to show them that the drink was in fact listed on their website and went back inside. "The menu is subject to change, i told you we DO NOT MAKE THEM!" When i asked why her response was that they are to expensive. I will gladly pay the difference I replied only to receive a "NO". I have been in the service industry for 20 years as both a chef and a bartender and have never witnessed such absurdity. This kind of customer service is absolutely ridiculous. Why on earth would a business that had the product and equipment on hand and are trained in the technique (they offered me a latte) refuse such a common order? This behavior is beyond me. Next thing you know all they will serve is instant coffee because because fresh ground is to time consuming and the costs are to high. Stay away!! read more
