I just want to give a shout out to Executive Chef John Annear for making our first time at Cabernet and IPA's a very memorable experience! If you haven't been yet, you need to get in there. From start to finish absolutely amazing!! Starting with the deviled eggs with bacon and jalapeños (I'll never eat a deviled egg any other way now) then lamb chops and a frisée salad, steak sliders with caramelized onions and a gorgonzola sauce (Joe claims they are the best he's ever had) and to finish apricot crème brûlée. The wine selection is extensive, cold brews on tap and fun creative cocktails. Staff was attentive and friendly. Patio seating with a fire pit table in the middle, looks over the Mukilteo lighthouse and Sound. Make this a destination! read more

Struggling between a 3 or 2 stars. Landing in 3 because it's our first experience. Hoping it would be better the next time. Beautiful deck atmosphere and decent apps. I would not come for a big meal. Def more a drinks and apps spot. Kinda pricey. However, we had been looking for a new date night spot and were exciting try this spot. All was good with the exception of the staff attitude and speed. I'm not sure if they are understaffed but service was very slow and the attitude made us feel unwelcome and as an irritant to staff. Really made for a lack luster date night. When we arrived, we waiting at the bar for a deck table per the instructions of the hostess which was fine but we waited for service at the bar for so long that we didn't get to order a drink until just before table opened on the deck. At one point during our wait we watched 5 employees standing behind the bar talking as one drank her iced coffee. Once we did get assistance, she walked away before we finished our order and we had to have another waiter add it for us. When we asked to close our tab out so we could move to the deck once the hostess pulled us to the deck, the person behind the bar said "no, Im too busy to help" walked away. I would have hoped for her to tap someone who could help us on the shoulder for assistance. Really hard to see spending it date nights here again. read more

Pretzel was good. Blta was pretty good. The flat breads are super soggy and on some sort of pita bread. Food was all in all just ok. I'm not a hard core COVID rule guy but the wait staff was pretty un professional. Waitress was wearing a weird netted and see through mask and the cook was unmasked walking around. I live a short walk away from here and gave this place a chance multiple times. They have great drinks but multiple of their dishes taste exactly like frozen foods from Costco that are resold at an overprice and do not order take out from here either. I hope others see this. read more

Disclaimer: I like this place and I still frequent multiple times a month, but there's a couple of things that drive me nuts about this place and keep me from absolutely loving it. It's slowwwwwww. Don't come here if you're looking for quick service. It's got great neighborhood vibes, but that comes at the expense of everyone being in no real hurry. The waitresses are incredibly nice and always chat up a great conversation with my family, but they do the same at every table even when they're a bit understaffed. Maybe this place just needs +1 wait staff or something. I saw the owner (a smaller middle-aged woman) moving a dozen or so giant propane tanks on her own, so I can only assume they're short-staffed. Hope COVID wasn't too hard on the finances and they can bounce back with some new faces working tables. It's a bit expensive. Servings are small and you should plan to order a bit extra if you've got an appetite. Food can be inconsistent as well. I tend to order the same things as the menu rarely changes, and it always comes out a little different. Last complaint - I have doubts about either the accuracy of their beer menu or the accuracy of their bartending. The same beer will often taste differently between multiple pours, if you catch my drift. The last time I went, they poured an incredible beer that I never had before that was labeled as from a nearby brewery. I went to that brewery the next day and can say that whatever they're pouring is absolutely not what that brewery is making. Just big shrugs all around here, maybe steer clear if you're a beer connoisseur. read more

Went in to the restaurant while waiting for a ferry. Sat at the bar. The bartender gave us water & menus & that was the last conversation with any of the staff for over 10 minutes. There was a bar tender working away right in front of us. We never heard a "be with you shortly, we are really behind sorry for the delay" just got ignored. The welcoming and cozy ambiance was great on a rainy night for a drink and a light bite. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We had the Taco Tuesday special, which was street tacos with grilled chicken, pork or beef. The meats were well seasoned, but a tad dry, so we requested salsa, which helped a lot. I loved the large amount of avocado on each. My husband enjoyed a draft beer, and I had a delicious red blend. The pour was generous and it was great! We look forward to stopping in again. read more

We just tried out this local spot tonight and it was exactly what we've been hoping would open up here in Mukilteo! The drinks are abundant, the food was great and the service was phenomenal! I assume any of these bad reviews about service was just them working out the kinks from just opening. I got a cab franc, my hubs got an IPA and we split a couple small plates while watching the NFC championship game. We had our 7mo boy and he devoured the Parmesan chicken bites so he approved too. I wouldn't say it's a family place but they're kid-friendly and we had no problems at all (no high chairs yet but they said they may be getting some). I just wouldn't plan on kids meals or letting your little ones run rampant, it's just not that environment. Overall, we already said we'll be back for date night!!! read more

Ambiance is comfortable. Cabernet's & IPA's definitely has a cool vibe and a warm feel to it. The views are amazing. Food was good, drinks were solid. The food was served in a timely manner. For some reason it took a bit to receive cocktails. Likely the result of staffing issues due to covid 19. Which I have experienced in my own business. Also, they were slammed at the time. Our server Jessica seemed very competent but was a bit overwhelmed by having to train a trainee server and tend the bar as well. We had a good time with our family! Where do I start!! This place is NEW to mukilteo! Gorgeous place/ design. Amazing staff. Amazing wine and beer options! Hubs loves beer and I love wine. We can never find a place that offers both of us endless options. Until now. We will be back soon! I'm drooling over the food- I wanted to try everything and all the wine. I planned to taste several wines but the Compton Pinot noir was so good I just stayed with that on our visit. I think hubs is planning a trip to pick me up wine for home too! This was our second time here. First was ok but thought we'd try it again. We sat at the bar, we weren't greeted with a smile from either the young blonde girl or the young man behind the bar. We only ordered an espresso martini, an espresso with a shot of whiskey and a crème brûlée. After finishing our drinks, I asked for the check, as the crème brûlée never came. We watched as 3 different couples entered the bar and neither of the servers acknowledged them. A woman on a lap top at the far end of the bar, who seemed to possibly be an owner, didn't seem to care about the new customers or the fact that the staff paid NO ATTENTION to them. We asked for the check, as neither bar tender came back to ask if we wanted another OR came with the dessert that we ordered 30 minutes prior. Service sucked. Do better. Try to smile. That's why you got $1 tip. That was generous. read more

What a great find! So many things I wanted to try on the menu, but settled on the loaded cauliflower. It was very good, but not overly filling. Order another small item for a full meal. So I've been here a few times now. I have to say that I do love sitting out by the firepit and enjoying the view. I hope this place is successful as it can be difficult to thrive in the Mukilteo old town. It's nice however to have a place with a decent happy hour and the location to boot. I think the quality of the food is good, but not great. They still need work there. My wife and I had the specials (dinner specials) from Tuesday the 16th. It took 45 MINUTES to get a Reuben sandwich from the kitchen. This is unacceptable. We almost got up and left. The only reason we didn't was because we had not finished the bottle of wine. 45 minutes for a sandwich? Really? It was a fair sandwich. It was missing something, maybe pickle slices or something to give a slight sour element to the dish. I don't know. There needs to be a rotating happy hour special, whether it be food, drink, etc. Emory's does this and I look forward to that as a change than just the standard HH selections. I need a reason to spend my money at a particular location too. There are plenty of places I can go around town. So what is the hook that will keep me returning here? The location is a big draw for sure. I DO think that they need to put in a pizza oven out front. People love fresh, wood-fired pizzas (or is it just me?). Not sure how logistically sound that idea is, but just throwing it out there. A big plus to supporting local brewers as well. I like that and the fact that there is a discounted wine night (according to my wife). She loves a good reason to go drink good wine at a discount. I have not had a chance to dive into their spirits selection yet, but I love my whiskey. I will keep coming back as I do like this place. The service on the floor was OK last time. Could have been better. The kitchen's ability to put out food promptly was terrible. That needs to change. I've visited this restaurant several times & been impressed however tonight was very disappointed. I bought my cousin who is visiting from CA. W waited to be seated outside & had ordered 1 drink inside before being seated outside. We both ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich with different sides. Before Happy Hour ended I inside & ordered a beer. Since no waiters were available. When the sandwiches were delivered we were not given napkins or silverware & my cousin was given a TUNA FISH SANDWICH. Waiting for snowsuit staff to appear. I noticed the next table had received their food but all sans napkins & silverware. Finally I was able to flag down a staff member to point out my cousins sandwich which was taken away. Not an I'm sorry was uttered. When it finally came back I pointed our that the table next to use needed silverware & napkins. This is in exceptable service any where. So sad to see a nice restaurant go down hill. read more

You obviously have a limited palate and I imagine what you make at home for your meals is pedestrian at best, which is probably a reach at that. Was excited to check this place out. My husband and I had a Monday off on a 75 degree day and wanted to sit out on the patio. We got there around 4:15 and it wasn't very busy. We sat in the corner patio spot. The view was really beautiful. My husband and I love beer and wine so we figured there would be a lot of options. They have about 20 beers on tap and lots of wine to order by the glass and bottle. Mostly local stuff. There's a full bar too so there's plenty of options for everyone. We didn't get any food. When we looked around at other people the tacos seemed to be the most popular. I was craving French fries but sadly they don't offer that on the menu. We were greeted and served quickly. However as the place filled up service got slower and slower. I saw quite a few people get up and leave because they sat there for 15+ minutes and no one greeted them or took their order. We asked for our check and after about 20 minutes we still didn't get it. Ended up going inside to the bar to cash out. Patio was nice but it's very crowded. If you need to get up to leave or go to the bathroom everyone would need to scooch in so you could walk by. The concept is really cool but they need to get their service dialed down. Waitresses aren't that friendly and there's no real sense of urgency. read more
