I actually wanted to give Cabela's 0 stars, but the review site won't allow that! I am SO DISAPPOINTED in CABELA'S! They certainly are willing to find you whatever you need in order to TAKE your money, but when you have an issue with what you bought, they only have time to deal with the customers that are PURCHASING merchandise! We bought a kayak, a paddle, a life jacket, a launch permit, a fishing license, and several fishing lures from Cabela's. They were MORE THAN HAPPY to sell us anything else we needed to add to the $446.23 we had already spent. However after leaving the store, we noticed several errors on the launch permit. We immediately called the store and was told that someone would get back to us. After four days of not hearing from anyone, we called again. This time we were told by a VERY RUDE operator that customer service wasn't taking any calls because they were all too busy assisting "in-store" customers. She then hung up on us. When we called again the operator gave us a hard time about transferring us but when she realized we weren't giving in, she transferred the call, which was unanswered! We decided to call Cabela's Corporate Headquarters after this....only to be told by someone there that it IS the day before the 4th of July and it IS Cabela's policy to make sure the "in-store" customers are being taken care of. Hmmmm - did this person FORGET that we too WERE on June 30th IN- STORE CUSTOMERS??????? So basically Cabela's will treat you very well while you are shelling out money. However, once they have your money, they want nothing at all to do with you! Don't bother making the trip.....their merchandise and the customer service isn't worth your time. GO TO DICK'S SPORTING GOODS instead! read more

I visited Cabela's in Hamburg PA 6/19/19. I stopped over at the rifle area. I was looking for cleaning swabs. Two bags of a size that I didn't need was all they had. Horrible inventory. I went back to footwear since that is what I really came for. Nice selection. Jessica #137776 assisted me. I have foot problems and since it was a weekday I figured I could get more assistance. Jessica was wonderful. She listened to what I was looking for and said no problem. She said she would keep bringing shoes out till we found one that suited me. She knew what she was selling. Then we had a problem. She went on break. The girl that was taking her place first didn't even leave off where Jessica did, I had to ask for assistance. I had to explain what I was looking for. I'm not sure if she was hard of hearing or just ignored what I said. She brought over everything but what I asked for. She was horrible. I had to explain to her again what I was looking for. She was a waste of my time. At least two customers walked away because of her horrible sales customer service. She all but told one customer he was all wrong in what he thought about looking for a shoe. There is a nice and polite way to tell someone different but she lacked that. He walked away. Jessica finally came back, thank goodness because I was ready to leave too. Jessica deserves a well deserved award. She was not only helping me but several of us at the same time. Don't lose this gal as she is making you money!!! Ditch the other sales person. Frank from Palmyra read more

Hamburg, PA Store is very dirty under stocked and under staffed in all areas except greaters!!!! The biggest issue was only 2(well 3) club card associates working! Applied for a card and took an hour be cause the associate was scared and quietly commenting on a review or argument?? by the other 2 club card ppl. The club manager was getting screamed at n reprimanded by her manager, all awhile I was trying to get an application n card. The associate helping me was timid and commenting on the conversation, on how that's not true n she is contradicting herself, why doesn't she help or go back to her store!!! Shouldn't this conversation have been in an office not in front of customers and gathering retail associates??? Big manager with no experience, just looked hot!! Where is bass pro or dick's???? They are cheaper anyways!!!!!!!!!! read more

First time at this Cabela's and it was larger than I anticipated. Great place for the kids to see the water tanks of fresh water fish and taxidermy throughout store. read more

This is not at all up my alley of hobbies or places to visit but I stopped in with a friend who was on the market for a pocket knife and I have to review this place because: WOW. This is a wonderland for hunting and camping enthusiasts. THE Wonderland. The store is MASSIVE and has every tool imaginable when it comes to this category. There are taxidermy wildlife decorating the space with goats, rams, bears and wild cats! There is even a pond in the center of the store with real fish in it! Nice place for enthusiasts to pass the time and explore new things. read more

Their firearm prices range from "too expensive" to "decent sale prices." They certainly have everything they claim to have in the catalog, though! Sometimes they'll have nice deals on bulk ammunition. I picked up a dry storage box with 2100 rounds of Federal .22LR for $65 a while back. If nobody else has a gun you want and you don't want to go online through an FFL... Cabela's can take care of you. General sporting goods prices are average across the board. Their sales can be a good buy, though. I was never clear on their position towards OC in the store, though. Just be aware that their firearms section works like a deli counter. You take a number and then you wait... and wait... and wait. One time I got there and drew #68 and they were on #5.... read more

We just stopped on our way back from Nazareth. If your not into hunting or fishing, once is eough.

Good selection of clothes and accessories. Good food in the café. Good aquarium area. Good taxidermy display.

Once I found out that I accrued points on my Cabela's Visa for all purchases, guess what? I use that card for everything and then get to shop Cabela's for my clothing and sporting needs. I've even had the store personnel go out of their way to find the exact items I wanted. I have a feeling that if you can't find what you want at Cabela's, it doesn't exist. read more

Biggest store I have ever seen. Also has several animal museum displays. Its like a field trip and shopping and eating all in one. You can also feed the fish in the pond and this is all inside! Pretty amazing. The prices were ok but a little on the salty side for me but they had a bit of everything! Loved it read more

Holy moly batman! What a really cool store! So many things to do, so many sights to see. Came here the week before Christmas expecting it to be packed and it wasn't. The place is big enough that you don't feel like you are being trampled over. My son loves the aquarium and seeing the fish, he enjoyed seeing the stuffed alligator and the huge elephant. It was a great time. My only gripe was that the cafeteria closed at 6:30 and wasn't open later, but that isn't a big deal. There are numerous restaurants in the shopping center. read more

Huge store with plenty of goods. supplies and clothes for hunting, fishing and sports enthusiasts. The aquarium walkway, stocked with local fish is interesting (not too colorful, but these are not tropical fish). - Maybe the stuffed animal displays are entertaining for hunters and children, but several in our group were upset by these stuffed animals that were unnecessarily killed for sport. (The deer were probably necessarily killed to cull the numbers in the area, so that's understandable.) Since elephants are on the verge of extinction, it was especially upsetting to see the stuffed elephant that was killed by the owner in 2001, is on display. - There is a small but varied food section on the second floor (up several flights of stairs) Not the place for people or families concerned about conservation of wildlife. read more

Totally an outdoorsy manly place, but they do have some good womens underarmour and northface. There's a restaurant and a cute general store with awesome fudge. My 16 month old son likes looking at the mini aquarium and animal displays. read more

A great place to visit but I rarely buy anything.... it is like Best buy - go in there, check out everything, make a few mental notes and go home and buy them on Amazon at 40% less..... the Cabela's made stuff I find to be a bit on the cheap made side so I stick to the brands - and have not found a single instance where Amazon wasnt cheaper read more

Ok, I was excited to finally go here. Been wanting for many years. My 4 year old daughter kind of ruined my fathers day, she was not cooperating today! This place is big, too big, and so much to see. I thought it was very busy, it was fathers day! The lines were through the back of the store, and they were not moving fast! Long story short, we were there not even an hour, and we left with nothing. Just not worth the wait! Prices were not that great, same if not more than Dick's or Bass Pro. The fish tanks and stuffed wildlife were neat, but not worth the trip overall! The restaurant was below my expectations, clothes were expensive as well. Well, thats all I have to say! read more

Customer service was excellent- our 2 year old son lost his hat somewhere in the store and they took our name and number in case someone turned it in. They called us the next day and said they found it. They are now mailing to us since we are not local to their store - free of charge. I highly recommend shopping at the Hamburg pa location read more

This normally wouldn't have been a place I would have went, but I had a really fun time. Lots of stuff too see for all kids of people with different interests. I'm not sure the prices are competitive so I would do some comparison shopping . Good place to run the kids for a bit! read more

When asked if they offer a military discount I was curtly responded with yes on Veteran's Day & I responded even local retailer Boscovs offers one daily!! I do not shop at Cabela's any longer. read more

I'm not a sportsman, but I appreciate guns. I love that on vacation I can load up on cheap ammo. Hey you never know if the zombie apocalypse happens, or if I need to go to the range and blow off steam. What I do know is this, the ammo is fairly priced and plentiful. The guns are gorgeous and also fairly priced. I saw the .45 of my dreams too. A beautiful Desert Eagle. Sooooon! read more

Cabela's is the bomb when it comes to hunting and fishing and this store is a destination; nay, a monument for all those who love the outdoors. If you're on I-78 in Hamburg stop in, you'll find something you need or tons of things you don't, but still want. read more

Gigantic store for the hunting set. Unless you're squeamish or an animal rights activist, it's worth a look-see just for the novelty. Quite a large selection of items to satisfy hunters/campers, but don't expect to find any real bargains. read more

Awesome store. First time my husband took me there we drove 2 hours just to wacko around and look at all the cool displays! Wish they would open one in new jersey. read more

A awsome store for any outdoors person. From Fishing To Camping they have it. The store is really neat also as it is decorated like a Forest with animals in the center of it. THe service is excellant andt they have everything you could need for outdoors. I have never had a problem with their customer service and lines are little to non existant in this store. read more

Great place for the family to go! Good deals (don't forget to check out their bargain area). Awesome atmosphere!!! Many things to look at (walk in aquarium & huge trophy catches). Love their camouflage items for women / girls!!! read more

Cabela's is a nice store with the exception of the bargain cave. The prices are not really discounted. They just put them in there hoping you won't look online. NEVER buy a gun here. Worst experience of my life! I ordered one and drove 4 hours to pick it up. They made me wait in line 90 minutes just to tell them I was there to get it. The paperwork/ background check they told me was going to be another 3 hours!! It was a nightmare. The people that work in firearms are clueless. I actually drove an hour from Hamburg to Harrisburg to bass pro, bought the gun and walked out in less time than it took at Cabela's just to say I was there to pick one up,, read more

Tried to buy a rifle. The store was not busy. From the time I handed the rifle to an employee and told them I wanted to purchase it to the time I walked out was 40 minutes. I filled out the Federal Form 4473 at a computer terminal and was told to wait because they needed to print it out and have me sign it. A half hour later, that being a half hour of watching employees milling about without doing anything, they still had not printed my form out and no one nearby to ask about it. I walked out. Buy your firearms somewhere else, these guys are unmotivated and you'll be in there for two hours to get a simple background check. read more

had to change my review based on the fact they made some changes to the restaurant, the food choices have degraded to the point that i do not look forward to going here as much. It is no longer a place i go out of my way for. The food is just ok..so i order online now read more

Just a warning for anyone that wants to buy something check if it can be returned. I wanted to buy a summit tree stand but there was none on display and we talked to an employee and the manager and said their policy is you can't return a tree stand. Understandable yes, but on the other side I am not spending $200-$400 on something I don't like especially if you don't have one on display. It's an item that you need to be able to look at and touch considering you'll be climbing 15+ feet in a tree with it and want to feel save. read more

I like the big outdoor selection and has a lot of variety. The animals and fish are my favorite part of the whole store. However the parking it weird with the one way areas and not marked the best, but overall good. (If you bring children under 10 bring a leash they like to wander and get in the way) read more

All around favorite outfitter in the world! Everyone really cares about you and it is amazing! They have everything outdoors from A-Z. They are the only major supplier if ice fishing supplies in the valley. However their stock of live bait is limited. read more

My parents brought my nephew and my son to the Hamburg PA location today. My son is 5 and is special needs. The gentleman in the archery department (I spoke with the manager a moment ago, I believe his name was Nolan), took extra time and went above and beyond to help and give my son pointers, it made my sons day! We will definitely be returning soon!! read more

like to take the kids to see the mountain of animals. their prices are a little high unless there is a sale.

Very disorganized. Sitting over 20 minutes waiting for firearms checkout. No one here. 5 people behind counter. No one checking us out. Called for a manager. Still no action. Store is empty -now I know why read more

VERY DISRESPECTFUL!!! I've never owned a handgun before. Just bought my first handgun. The employees were talking about how I don't know the difference between the kinds of ammo and poking fun at me between themselves. No of course I don't I'm just learning! Will not be back! read more

Loved it!! Not a hunting or sports kinda like but my kids loved all the taxadermies and the aquarium

Cabela's is a continual disappointment and they've lost me as a customer. I repeatedly attempted clothes shopping only to find nothing but large and XL sizes. Waist sizes may skip everything from 32 up to 38. Too many shoe sizes only go down to 9, and even then, no half-sizes in between. Or, they're just out of your size. They fail miserably at ever restocking sold out sizes! It's hard to find someone to help in clothing area, they never have more stuff in back, and most help feels little obligation to be very helpful or even pleasant. Seasonal merchandise? Thermals are mostly gone by January and even online by February. Buy shorts before it's warm. They have no shame in having most waist sizes unavailable after April. By September, you can't even find them online despite many states wearing shorts year-round. On weekends and holidays, huge crowds of people bump into you and block key areas. Things are sold out, or thrown about. I've picked stuff off the floor and still not found my size. Forget about trying on shoes. No self-service here. There's never enough help. The loudest shoppers get their attention first and the polite ones get forgotten about. Plan to spend an hour or two. Also, they only carry shoes that are expensive. Some of their merchandise is quality, like the clothing. But they're not above selling, even overcharging, for rip-off product. I paid $20 for heated socks that I later found out get nothing but bad (defective) reviews round the web. Most stores refused to sell them. I wrote Cabela's a letter, but they still carried the socks a year later. This place is a money machine. So many people flock here they don't worry about empty shelves or good customer service or good value. You will find most non-Cabela merchandise elsewhere at much better prices. They focus on expensive, sportsman merchandise of all kinds under one sportsman- themed roof. Therefore, they have theme park price entitlement. How else can customers feel about a 99 cent bag of grocery store candy costing 5 bucks? We're local, so we know that they also treat employees poorly. Low pay, unheard of hours, little to no training. High turnover rates. No wonder nobody is happy to work here. Cabela's if you're listening, a little effort would not only help keep unhappy people from walking out permanently, but it would increase your revenue in a way everyone is happy about. read more

Great place for any outdoorsman. The fish tanks and the stuffed animals are fun for everyone.
