Visited the Garner store (again) today. As usual everyone was super friendly and helpful. My family spends a lot of time in the archery department. Carson, Trevor and Daniel have all been great. Carson has helped us several time. He is a pleasure to talk to and work with. It's easy to tell when someone is is just doing there job, even if they do it well opposed to someone who is passionate about it and has personal experience. It makes a big difference. Physically, I could travel about the same distance in any direction to an outdoor outfitter, but I often choose this location because of the service I'll receive here. read more

I've been to this Cabela's probably around 10-15 times in the last few months for various reasons and have spent a fair amount of money. I can honestly say that I've never had a good experience. Most recently the last two days I've stood at the same counter looking at the same overpriced knife and no one has helped me. I prefer buying things in store so I don't mind spending the extra $25 dollars so I don't have to wait for shipping but I'll just order the knife from Amazon. And I think the extra 15 minute drive to a different outdoor store is what I'm going to do from now on. read more

I'm not a big hunting guy but this is my first time coming to Cabela's I like this store it looks like a old cabin from the inside and that's pretty cool. there's not nothing thing that I can't think that they don't have here from all kinds of guns to ATV and canoes and its at a reasonable prices they have more than enough people to help you so you're not waiting for help read more

This store is much smaller than most other Cabelas, only one story. Not a lot of selection for clothing. Only 4 boxes of ammo on the shelves. However, the worst part of our one time experience at this particular store was the timeshare salesmen that wouldn't take no for an answer. Extremely disappointed in he customer service and management at Cabelas. I notified them that there was a dog in a locked car outside and asked them to call the owner of the system to ask him to come to the front so I could address the issue with them. They said no were super uncooperative. Another customer and myself decided to just call the police. When we called they dispatched an officer and asked if we tried to locate the owner within the store. I said I had tried but Cabelas wouldn't cooperate. Considering they are advertising dog training camp at Cabelas currently I expected more or of them. Not proud to be their customer where they are so callous about a dog locked in a car in their parking lot. They were too afraid to ruffle any feathers. At the end of the day the dog is okay and the situation was handled, no thanks to Cabelas. I expect more. Wasn't asking them to address it merely to attempt to locate the owner. read more

Everyone that I met at this store is very nice. The reason for me only giving one star is because of the way corporate handled my order. They still owe me half of my online order and it has been over 2 months. When I placed the order they had it in stock. It wasn't in stock. If they believe it's in stock at their distributor they will say they have it. If something goes wrong they blame the distributor. They got my money and all I got is excuses from them. The worst customer service!!!!! I went with my son to buy a cross bow for his hunting trip next week. We patiently waited as the only person in the department was assisting another customer with sighting in a bow and making his purchase. My son was holding the bow he was interested in purchasing and the person knew we were waiting and someone walked up and asked a question and he walked away to help this guy buy a package of arrow heads. We were ready to purchase equipment well over $500. When he finally came back my son said he had a few questions about different bows before he decided which one he was getting, this man told him he didn't have time to answer questions, he had things he needed to do in the back. Needless to say, we walked out without purchasing anything. Customer service is everything. You never know who you are talking to or how much they are going to purchase. I am getting back into bass fishing after 20 years away. Went to this store (40 minute) drive. I met Diann (this is correct spelling) in the fishing department. She was so knowledgable and helpful with her recommendations on reels and poles that are available today. Spent a couple hundred and got her hours (not enough if you want to keep her) so I can go back this week and continue shopping. Everyone in the fishing department refers customers to her. She also introduced me to Ed who is also kayak fisherman and he spent very valuable time with me. read more

Worked on the construction of this store when it was being built. The prices are as good or better than you can find online. When you can catch a sale you can get some deals. I mainly buy clothes and reloading supplies. Most of these employees genuinely want to help. Good used gun selection. Best big box store in the area. read more

Finally able to make it out there. Was impressed by this area having a store of this caliber . However , was not pleased with high prices, mainly store brand products and they did not hire a wide range of knowledgeable employees. Don't waste your time! The men's clothing department was a total dissapointment. Customer service was non existent. The employees were standing around talking with one another and not the customers. I was there for well over an hour and not one employee spoke with me or asked if I needed help. The cafe employees were downright hostile. I stopped by the store to compare it to the Bass in nearby Cary and I must say I was never greeted by an associate and wasn't really sure what direction to go. It seems to be more geared towards hunting and parking was insane at 10:30am on a Sunday. It is really crowded and not shopping friendly. There doesn't appear to be enough retail floor space for all of the product. I took the children to stock up on arrows (youth assortment) and there was only one option/selection I could find. An associate looked dead in the face and never said hello or "may I help you". He then followed behind me to realign an arrow I guess I did not place back never saying a single word. The highlight of my trip was smelling what appeared to be roasting nuts or churros on the way out of the door. I will not return although it is much closer to my home it's not a friendly or inviting place especially to the novice looking to become a loyal shopper of an outdoor brand. Great store with an enormous inventory, store was clean and well structured and the staff were very friendly and courteous. Anything you need for hunting, fishing, boating, camping, or anything else that could be used outdoors is more than likely in this store. They also have a cafe and make and sell some of the best jerky i've tasted, they have monthly events as well, especially for the kids. read more

we recently bought a boat from Cabela's and the first day on the water the boat leaked alot. We called Cabela's immediately and took the boat back. In conversations with the service department we were told what was wrong, how it was determined, where the boat was going for repairs and who at Cabela's was talking with at the boat company. I made a call to the boat company and discovered that everything Cabela's told me was a lie!!! EVERYTHING! I had to get an attorney and prep for a lawsuit if they didn't refund our money immediately. In addition, Cabela's misrepresented the information on the boat on the paperwork. The paperwork said it was a 2017 boat and the manufacturer told us it was a 2016. It was a 2016 model manufactured in May of 2016. Don't buy a boat from Cabela's! read more

I stopped by Cabelas in Garner NC today Sunday August 18, 2019 to look at trolling motors for my boat. I told the clerk what features I needed and he seemed unsure so they got me a senoir associate. He seemed very knowledgable. He told me all freshwater Minnkota motors that are blue tooth compatable came with BOTh a remote and foot pedal. He sent the young associate to get me a motor and I asked them to check BEFORE I left as I live an hour away from the store. They opened the box and got out the owners manual / installation instructions and showed me it had both. I asked to see them but was hurried out of the store. I paid $1,190.00 for this trolling motor and when I got home opened it up and the foot control was not there. I called the store immediately to report this and was told they were too busy and some one would call me back. After an hour and a hlf wait I called back to get some help and I was transferred to the same assocate that assured me that I had what I needed. Then he tells me he sees on the internet the foot pedal does NOT come with the motor. I asked to speak to the manager and got Andy. He must have had a bad day as he answered the phone in a sarcastic tone and I tried to explain what had happened. He spent more time telling me how the 2 associates were in trouble for opening the box and he would deal with them later than trying to help me. He then sarcastically stated "Sorry for the trouble" and hung up the phone. I wish I had gone to Bass Pro Shops. At least if they do not have what you need or do not know they will take your name and have a professional call you. read more

i put a down payment on a boat and was cleared for financing. The salesman was very helpful until he talked to the boat sales manager. She told the salesman that they would not match bass pro shops $500 gift card and discount off of boat related products. The boat that i had a deposit on was $35.000. I took another step and called the store manager, to my dismay he told me they might be able to match the bass pro discount but couldnt have the boat ready for 2-3 weeks. Well, I purchased a firearm from them in the past ONLY because I had $150 in gift cards! Their prices are RIDICULOUS and if you buy from them it must be you are desperate?! There are MANY gun shops in the Raleigh area with better customer service and prices! In fact, you will save $50-$100 by calling around and doing some research! I called today for a price comparison on a Ruger American Pistol Compact in 9mm. I told them another local gun shop was selling the same gun for $50 less. When the salesman (Nick) called this gun shop to confirm, he told me they could not price match because the model this particular gun shop had in stock was the one without the safety! Same exact model but without the safety! Both models sell for exactly the same! They would not budge! So, I ended up going to "Smokin' Barrels" in Garner! I bought the gun I was looking for for at the matched price and received MUCH better customer service! I will NEVER buy a firearm from Cabelas again! still trying to get my refund!!!!!..... i have spoken with several people!!!!.... i was told to go online or mail in my refund slip--- i went online and they told me to go into the store-- i went into the store and they said it should take 30days or call customer support for a faster refund- went on facebook &i was told that the gm was going to call--- still waiting on that call!!!... i called customer support i was on the phone for 57:21mins i was told by julie that she would give me a call back--- they have my merchandise----- they charged me for it the same day they were supposed to refund it----- i bought this item on 8/9/16, it came back a week later and it never left the store----- it takes five seconds to get my money---- but over 5 weeks to get it back!!!.... i want my money!!!!! read more

My husband and myself went to Cabelas on Labor Day. He loves the place and I go along bc it's usually something I can find sorta interesting. My 4mnth old son was with us and he needed to eat. I breastfeed. I have all three of my children. I go looking a spot to nurse and only place really available is the cafe. I sit with my back to most of customers, put my wrap on to cover and proceed to feed my child. An employee rushes up to me and says oh we have private rooms for that. We have asked others to use them because this makes some people uncomfortable. Seriously?! Feeding a baby makes someone uncomfortable...that's their issue not mine. I say no I'm not moving and it's the law I can do this anywhere in public. She then continues to literally run off to find me a room. I again say no. By this time the whole cafe is looking at me. I am humiliated and mad by now. Noone was paying any attention to me discreetly and modestly feeding my baby before now. The ignorance of this stores employees shocks me. I finished feeding my baby and found a manager. Who sugar coated over it all. We will not be back and I'm telling everyone I can how unfriendly this store is to nursing mothers. read more

I recently went to Cabelas looking for a particular pistol. They had the gun I wanted, but the sales staff was too small to accommodate the number of shoppers. And they refused to let you look at any gun while they were transacting business with another customer. This was understandable, but their attitude was very poor. I went away for a while and came back. Still no luck. One of the sales staff ran off somewhere and told me to take a number! I had not noticed the number system, so I took a number. Guess what, they don't seem to use their number system, they help whoever they want to help. At times, the entire gun sales staff would disappear, leaving all of us customers staring at each other. When someone finally was able to let me look at the gun that I wanted, they know NOTHING about it at all. I expected courteous, attentive and knowledgeable people to assist me. They met none of my expectations. However, they did have a lot of interesting guns in a very nice store, so I give them a 2. read more
