Memorial Plan at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery - Sweet little angel

Memorial Plan at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery

I live in Louisiana, unfortunately on May 29th of 2000 my then 11 year old daughter and her…read morepaternal grandparents died in a car accident while traveling from Louisiana to Miami and since her grandparents lived in Miami, her dad and I decided we didn't want to separate them. In the past 20 years I try to go a couple of times a year but I always go on October 13th because that's my daughter's birthday so of course I was there this past Tuesday (10/13/2020) to spend the whole day there and do my yearly thing for her. This year I went prepared to put a plaque on a tree that's right by their headstone, I brought everything I needed but the drill I borrowed to put in the screws was pretty old and the tip that holds the bit basically fell apart and that's when I saw Maikel Gonzalez coming on a lawnmower, I stopped him to ask him if he thought he could fix it for me, he immediately got off the lawnmower, looked at the drill and said that it was impossible and since to me it's so important to make her day as special as I can, my eyes instantly filled up with tears because I don't know my way around Miami very well, the traffic is outrageous so I knew it was probably too late to figure something else out at that point and Maikel immediately told me "don't worry, I can't do anything right now but I'll give you my number, if you're not able to figure something else out, leave it by the tree and when I get here in the morning, I'll put it right where you want it and I'll send you a picture, I promise, just don't be upset" I can not begin to express what that meant to me because he was done for the day, I'm sure he was tired but he made sure I knew everything would be ok, we exchanged numbers and he left. I didn't even get his name at the time. Yesterday on my way to the airport I text Maikel and asked him to please call me when he had a minute, he did and I let him know that even though the plaque was on the tree it was not secure and again he said "don't worry, I have what I need and as soon as I go to lunch, I'll secure it for you and send you a picture" and he did. This young-man went out of his way after work and on his lunch hour to help someone he doesn't even know and he did it just because he's a good person because he has no idea I intended to share what he did for me with anyone, he truly made what to me would have been a very sad nearly devastating day so much better. Thank you so much Miami Memorial, for picking the staff you have, I am forever grateful to all of you but I will never ever forget Maikel's random act of kindness for me

I had called Mr. Wade to discuss the matters, and he was absolutely attentive and caring towards my vulnerability after losing my loved one. I was saying my goodbyes to my mother, and Mr. Wade was very patient with me, and informing me of any inquiries I had. There was absolutely no hidden fees or sticker shock when completing all that was needing to be completed. Mr. Wade explained every detail and process to a T. I was never confused, misunderstood, or brushed off. His business was transparent and precise. During the final stages of having my mother cremated, I spoke to the office secretary, and she was phenomenal, too! She was constantly checking in on me via phone calls, emails, or text messaging to make sure I was doing alright, and if I had questions. When I came to collect the final documents and items, she had given me a hug. This company made me feel like loved and understood. The Wade Funeral Home was on top of things. They never skipped a beat with processing paperwork and communication. When there was a delay, because of uncontrolled reasons, they kept me up-to-date. In my vulnerable state, I felt my feelings were taken seriously, and that they made sure I was satisfied throughout the entire process. I highly recommend this funeral home. I am utterly grateful for their kindness, compassion, and patience. Please, consider this funeral home; they will strive to be there at your time of need. Thank you, Wade Funeral Home, for taking care of the funeral arrangements!

Flagler Memorial Park - missing flower pots

If you are born, one day you will die. It is a fact of life…read more While many people choose to avoid this subject altogether, you shouldn't. You are running from an inevitable truth. There are many things to consider when dying. Do you want to be buried underground or placed on a wall? Would you prefer to be cremated? Donated to science? Do you want to have burial plots for yourself and your loved ones? Believe me there is much to consider. Assuming you're practical, this place is a reliable option. The office staff is pleasant and completely sympathetic to this difficult subject. I personally spoke to Sergio and Gladys and they were beyond helpful. While I may not have funeral expenses on my current to-do list, I did get a rundown when I went in for other matters. As far as burials go, I have several family members at this cemetery and have never had any issues. The graves are well kept and there is plenty of space. There are also nearby flower shops, so visiting your loved ones and bringing a token of your affection is a breeze. Oh, and a final tidbit - they don't remove bodies. From my conversation with staff, the oldest grave around is from the early 1900s. I know that in comparison to other cemeteries that doesn't seem like much, but Miami is a relatively new city. Visit HistoryMiami to get a better idea. Anyway, point is they truly respect the dead.

It is frustrating that such a basic maintenance matter has been left unaddressed for so long. While temporary plastic pots are sometimes available, families should not have to keep asking for a short-term fix each time they visit. A cemetery should maintain burial sites with care, consistency, and respect.
