Our family had an extremely painful and unacceptable experience with Caballero Funeral Home during…read morean already devastating time. We specifically requested that the casket be closed at 9:30 PM. This did not happen. We were told there was no staff available to close it. Instead, the casket was not closed until 10:45 PM, and this was done in front of grieving family and guests. Watching staff stuff blankets and close the casket in public caused immense emotional distress and should never happen under any circumstances. Additionally, flowers that were delivered and signed for by the funeral home were lost. Initially, we were told there was no employee by the name of the signer. Later, the manager discovered that the signature did in fact belong to one of their employees. Despite this, the flowers were still missing. As of 2:00 PM, after the service had ended, staff were digging through other grave sites trying to locate them. When I asked about the missing flowers, I was shockingly told that I should not have used the flower shop recommended on the obituary--placing blame on the family instead of taking responsibility. This was the worst experience imaginable during a time of deep grief. Our family was made to suffer far more than necessary due to disorganization, lack of professionalism, and a complete absence of compassion. I could go on, but this alone speaks volumes. I would never recommend this funeral home to any family.

Everything went well and they were honored as well as possible. From what I understand they work well either a variety of funeral directors both in and out of area. In terms of pricing that's something that would have to be looked at on a case by case basis as that varies greatly. The minute you walk in you feel such peace. The place is so clean and decorated beautifully and smells so great! Everywhere there are mints and tissues and we felt like we got such undivided attention, including Mr. Van Orsdel himself paying his respects. The staff from beginning to end was amazing, every single person! Cynthia was such a great coordinator and helped us so much through the entire process! The memorial website designated to each person is amazing! You can pay your respects, order flowers, read and watch beautiful tributes and find out all the information you need! Fifteen minutes into the service Sales Staff member, Damarys Moreno rudely interrupted the pastor and addressed the entire funeral party to ask "How much longer is THIS going to last?" I was shocked and enraged by the lack of humanity, decency and common respect anyone would show to a grieving family. Other staff members assured the family that management would be in contact to correct this egregious wrong and NO ONE from this establishment has called to offer an apology. As someone who works in the Mortuary business this was a new LOW in service I have ever seen. Use this business at your OWN PERIL!! They have no respect for the grieving or the dead.
