Inside the store I always check to see if it is clean and this place definitely was. We all have gone to places where we regretted it or saw nothing but a mess. This is not that place. Very clean on the inside. The people at this place where sipping on their beverage and they all looked content. I don't check the menu items over well. But I think they have bagels available and scones or muffins. But again- not 199% positive on that. When I went to this place I wasn't planning on cooking but then I could smell the coffee outside and hadn't had any coffee yet . I had a schedule to keep so I just walked in and got an iced cup of coffee. I feel like ai didn't over pay for the beverage. It was a decent sized iced coffee. The taste was great. I love supporting local and noting against bigger chains but it's just nice to know there are people starting up a joint and trying to provide for themselves and their family and make their mark in this world. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. So if you're in the downtown area, definitely visit them. I am guessing some of the businesses downtown draw in people to the downtown area, but also there's at the courthouse next door and they do a farmers market, so just make it part of your visit. Drop in, get a cup of Joe, or a nice tea, and then go about your day.

There is an older gentleman working the register who has consistently been very rude every time he…read morehas taken my order. This last time, I asked for a caramel macchiato and he said to go to Starbucks if I want something ridiculous like that. For anybody that hasn't worked in a coffee shop before, a macchiato is simply the espresso layered on top of the milk instead of mixed in. Yes, the exact same as a latte, just not mixed and usually has a little extra espresso. So if you can make a latte, you can make a macchiato. If you don't know what that is or it's not on your menu, that is literally okay, you can just say that nicely instead of snapping. Also, purely in my opinion, if you work in a coffee shop you should have some knowledge of the product. That's pretty standard for any workplace really; if you work there, you should at least be familiar with the product you work with. I've had negative interactions with this gentleman enough times now that I'm just going to avoid this shop going forward. I think they moved his shift to afternoons, but I just don't even want to take the chance of it being him at the register anymore. I'm not going to be snapped at for ordering a coffee.

When we got to the Vintage Brewing we had hoped to sit outside but everyone else had the same idea. It would have been a 20-30 wait so we chose to sit inside at one of their high tops. The area was in the bar and roomy we could see everything that was going on around the bar but kind of in the way of the thorough way of the kitchen where food came out and where they get their drinks from the bartenders. Our server walked by often so we received great service. I ordered the Rueben, it was delicious I'm so happy the have found another so close to home. The corned beef was thick, with just the right amount of juiciness, sauerkraut, thousand Island dressing and the best marble rye bread toasted perfect perfectly. I ordered straight fries well seasoned. I also ordered their homemade root beer, I'm not a fan. It tasted more like black licorice than root beer. I'd definitely go back and order visit its sister establishment in Madison on East Washington Avenue.

It is located along the Wisconsin River a short drive outside of Madison. Vintage Brewing is right on the river, giving the patio a really pretty setting. The patio is large and has a great spot for bands with plenty of tables for the audience. We decided to order dinner while we were there. I am not a beer drinker so I ordered the Wisconsinite ( a blackberry brandy old-fashioned). It wasn't bad, but definitely more on the sweet side than I care for. We shared the fried cheese curds, which had a great flavor, though not the best I've had. I really enjoyed my blackened salmon salad. The salmon was delicious and the salad was fresh. My husband also enjoyed his pulled pork sandwich. They had some fun swag for sale, and I came home with a cute pink t-shirt. All in all, Vintage Brewing is a cool place with beautiful location a great vibe. If you have a chance, catch The Sparks Band (a fun cover band).

This is the cutest little tea shop. I had a few minutes to kill in Spring Green, and I decided to…read morestop in to Bird of Paradise. There were several parking spots available right out front. As soon as I walked in, I was overwhelmed (in a good way) by the variety of art displayed all over the store. I really liked the skateboards painted by a local artist, and the person working the tea counter was happy to talk to me about the artists and the upcoming art fair in town. I took some time to peruse the tea accouterments available in the store, including mugs and infusers, ready-packaged loose tea, and more. This is a great place to shop for a tea lover in your life! Then I meandered over to the walls of tea. There are many varieties available and again the employee was very happy to talk through any questions. There were four teas at the counter that were available to sample. I sometimes appreciate having more limited options instead of having too big of a selection to be indecisive about, so I tried a couple samples and chose from there. I got the Precious Eyebrows tea (that's a translation of the original name!), and it was a really good classic green tea. The treats behind the counter, like the chocolate chunk cookies and different types of pie, were very tempting. I didn't get any food this time, but I do hope to return! The store is also linked to an art and jewelry gallery that I was able to check out while my tea was steeping. There is also both indoor and outdoor seating and a couple of other shops right nearby to check out. Great place to check out.
