Patients have no idea about their pricing beforehand and end up paying out of pocket without understanding the cost. I paid $533 for a tooth extraction, but my insurance only reimbursed $119 because the clinic's fees are much higher than what the insurance company is willing to cover. At other dental clinics, you only need to pay less than $200 out of pocket, and $179 of that is a once-a-year fee that won't be charged again for your next visit. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this greedy clinic.

She warned me that they require payment upfront and then submit the bill to Delta Dental for reimbursement. When I arrived for my appointment, I confirmed this information again with the front desk and my hygienist. A simple check-up with no problems or peculiarities cost me $300!! Delta Dental couldn't cover more than half because of Anderson's exorbitant rate! A Delta Dental representative told me she'd never seen anyone charge so much. It took five weeks of back and forth with a rude Anderson Dental administrative worker, who kept interrupting me, telling me to stop talking, and spouting nonsense about the importance of communication and recognizing that these processes take time (FIVE WEEKS!? Just admit that you forgot or were trying to wait me out) to receive payment from Anderson Dental after they'd acknowledge that they had misled me. These people are scammers and their workers should be embarrassed that they stoop to trying to steal from graduate students. Never going back.

After moving, I saw this dentist for a checkup and was told I needed seven fillings, even though my previous dentist had only recommended monitoring those areas. Trusting their judgment, I went ahead with the work. After the fillings were placed, I experienced persistent dental pain. It hurt to bite down, floss, and even eat moderately cool foods --something as simple as room-temperature toothpaste became painful. I returned multiple times hoping for relief, but only minor adjustments, such as polishing, were made, and the discomfort never fully went away. Years later, I finally decided to switch dentists after living with ongoing pain. My new dentist noted that one of the most painful fillings might not be possible to fix due to its size and that another had a shadow near the nerve, meaning I may now need a root canal ("Doesn't it hurt?" my new dentist asked, surprised. "The other ones hurt more" I replied). I can't help but wonder if some of these fillings were unnecessary in the first place. I wish I had questioned the extent of the treatment before agreeing to it, as I am now dealing with chronic dental pain and uncertainty about my health. I may never be able to enjoy food without pain again, and I'm deeply worried about what my future holds in terms of dental work and discomfort. I'm sharing my experience so others can make informed decisions about their own dental care and hopefully avoid what I'm going through. The other 1 star review here mirrors my experience exactly, down to the flippant attitude regarding botched fillings. I wish I had seen it before.

The big issue is whether they are in the network of the particular insurance. I found this out after my work was done and now I am stuck with a bill of nearly $200. In their office, they issued extensive verbal assurances about the pricing and they made it seem like they had confirmed everything with insurance, but it turned out that they hadn't done any due diligence at all. They were basically just making up the numbers and telling me they were certain. I paid them everything they quoted me that day, and my insurance paid them too, but 5 weeks later they're demanding hundreds more. No amount of reasoning with them resulted in any progress, and of course they're threatening to send their bloated bill to collections. Apparently, the "Caring Family Dental" name doesn't mean much to them. They're just another version of the corporate dental business that tries to always pile more on. At this point, I would NEVER trust any treatment plan quote they issue, as I know now that they'll just radically alter the numbers afterwards. Even if they tell you with certainty what the numbers will be, I now know that means nothing. I eventually filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General and we'll see where that goes, but man, what a huge hassle. I wish more businesses would actually read and abide by Illinois' deceptive practices laws.

I received no notice -- even though I typically get text confirmations. When I asked what number they had on file, it turned out they had the wrong phone number listed, even though my correct number is on file for my ortho account. I wasn't even aware there were separate accounts, and no one ever informed me. The receptionist, Christina, was dismissive and unhelpful throughout the entire interaction. There was no apology, no ownership of the error, and no attempt to make the situation right. While I was speaking to the manager, I noticed Christina smirking at me from the front desk. I asked her directly why she was laughing at me, and she replied--still smirking--"I'm not, I'm on the phone" in a condescending tone. The manager had to step in and ask her to walk away due to how unprofessional and rude she was acting in front of other patients and staff. To make matters worse, I overheard another patient who had shown up on the wrong day being treated kindly and even worked in. I understand circumstances may differ, but the contrast in how I was treated compared to him was very upsetting. Even though the manager helped me reschedule (which is now three months out), the damage was already done. I left feeling disrespected, dismissed, and deeply disappointed by how poorly the situation was handled. I hope the office takes this seriously and addresses how patients are treated moving forward.

They were pressuring me to schedule another $2k in root canal work immediately after completing $5k in implant work, and I mean immediately. The implant wasn't in my mouth for more than a few minutes before I was being asked to sign and schedule new treatment plans. I decided to get a second opinion given their track record, and come to find out I didn't need the root canals at all. Two 20yr old composite fillings had failed and simply needed to be replaced, which cost me no more than $300 out of pocket to fix. I spent years in pain during several botched implant procedures because I couldn't juggle thousands of dollars for multiple treatment plans, when it could have easily been resolved for a fraction of the cost. There is absolutely no excuse for upselling procedures that don't need to be done. I'm appalled to have been treated that way after what I had already been through. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
