I hate leaving him a good review because this doctor is so phenomenal I don't want to have to wait…read moreto see him as he explodes in popularity. He's very knowledgeable but one of those few good doctors I know who's confident and nothing himself to say when he doesn't know something. That might be one of the most important attributes for a good doctor to have as it keeps patients with complicated conditions safer than some maverick who thinks they know everything. Besides that one unique point I thought I would share I have the same views as everyone else this guy is very kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, and an asset to his field at a time when you have Stanford pumping out useless doctors by the hundreds who think they are God's gift to earth. But here's the honest truth about Doctor Rozelle, he's great because he's great, unlike doctors who could be considered good because of how bad the others are. This is a pretty big difference and why he deserves 5 stars!

A very good listener, very thorough, and even though I was only there to rule out an underlying condition, he gave me hope that if I don't get answers later down the road, that there are always options to get my quality of life back. Update: I came back for a follow up when I hit a wall with my care. He didn't remember our previous conversation. He did not help me find a solution. It was discouraging and stole the sense of hope that he had previously given me. Unless you have a condition with symptoms that can be seen externally, he may not be a good match for you.

Dr. Brown asked the right questions and gave me a lot of useful information, not just about rheumatoid arthritis, but about my other medical issues and health in general. Dr. Brown was not pushy and seemed to have my best health interests in mind. I highly recommend Dr. Brown.

I've heard that some rheumys dismiss symptoms that they can't see or confirm with a blood test or x-ray, but that has not been my experience so far with her. I have some visible swelling but a fair amount of pain and cramping that isn't visible. I think her words were to the effect of "I don't see swelling but I appreciate that you feel X". She was also very responsive to my concerns about taking methotrexate and got me on the injection right away based on what I said was my sensitivity to GI symptoms from other meds (basically, if GI is a possible side effect, I will have it). My only "complaint" is that I wish she was in San Carlos more often because it's closer for me, but I've been more than willing to trek down to Palo Alto when I couldn't get an appt in San Carlos. Plus, this is the first physician I've seen who has Saturday appointments! I think that's amazing, and I wish more of them did that.

Dr. Cummings is the Allergy, Asthma and Immunology specialist at Menlo Medical Clinic and,…read moreaccording to her bio on the MMC site, she has been with them for 23 years. My three little boys have a variety of allergies and are all subject to asthma/wheezing, so we've gotten to know Dr. Cummings over several years now... and I'm thankful that she is here to help us sort through the associated complex and stressful issues. She's got the experience and research knowledge to know what she's doing -- and during my interactions she's demonstrated both a friendly bedside manner and a balance between confidence and caution that I find reassuring. Of course with allergies as with lots of other ailments, doctors are still learning -- so even the experts can often not tell you the "right answer" for how to manage a particular allergy. And it's no fun bringing your little guys in to be poked and prodded each year for an allergy test, especially when (as on our last visit) my three year old's uncomfortable skin test got botched and had to be repeated. But as with most things, no pain, no gain. And since we are trying to do our very best to keep our little guys safe and comfortable over the long haul, we're going to keep coming to Dr. Cummings for the best advice we can get.

I've been told I'm allergic/sensitive to chemicals, and there's no known way to treat that. Dr Cummings was highly recommended to me, and I went to her as a last ditch effort. She took a look at all my previous testing, listened to me talking about my symptoms, and pinpointed my main (though not only) problem immediately - untreated silent reflux - and gave me a recommendation for her colleague, Dr Chan. She was right on the money. Dr Chan tested me, put me on meds, and I've never been better. Unlike other allergists I've gone to, Dr Cummings knows what can mimic allergy problems, and who to send you to. And I'm really grateful for that expertise, and her wonderful bedside manner.

But, when my rheumatologist Dr. Amy Kehl recently moved from Mountain View to the Los Angeles area - I was moved to write something. She is by far the best doctor I've ever had. I know, I said I wouldn't be hyperbolic. And I am not. I would literally thoroughly enjoy every doctor visit with her. They were more akin to seeing a close family friend who actively listened and cared very much about my health and well being. She was incredibly knowledgeable in her field and provided advice and treatment that was beyond "just keep taking your medicine". All my other doctors are fine. I'm sure they're fine. Maybe they are even good. Who knows? Dr. Kehl has ruined the curve because she is the best. I know I shouldn't be be selfish. She is now doing research and actively advancing the science behind the treatment in Rheumatology. But I can't help but be a little jealous of all the folks in Southern California who now can locate and discover the best rheumatologist/family friend one could ever hope to find.

She confirmed this via more tests as my diagnosis did not fit the usual parameters. I have been in her care since 2013 and I am still with her in 2021. She is absolutely wonderful, takes time to answer all my questions, monitors my diet and health and even took the time to show me what she herself eats, to improve my prognosis. When she is unsure of something, Dr. Sood is upfront about it and takes it to the PAMF consultants board for further study. She also coordinates with my other doctors when I have related symptoms. She is not a fan of taking too many x-Rays as she wants to avoid unnecessary radiation, which I seriously appreciate. She has also helped overhaul my medications whenever she feels it is time for a change. She even ensured that my MRIs were approved when my insurance refused to cover it in the first go. A shoutout to Nurse Micaiah L. for ensuring each visit is pleasant and all details are up to date, and especially for following up on all my questions with Dr. Sood and other departments, whenever I have asked her for help.

I think people forget that we're all human beings and thus we can all act differently. Personally I care less about someone being a buttoned up professional, especially now that I've met her. She is quick and talks fast. Sometimes I would end up waiting longer to see her than my appointment itself in the beginning which annoyed me at first, but I don't leave feeling like I didn't get enough out of her and that's what's important. She is very warm and personable, remembers things about my personal life and shows genuine care. On the contrary, she has gone out of her way to get more affordable options for me. She is as much my hype person as she is my doctor. I've lost 40 lbs healthily under her care since October and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. All of the Avita MD staff from the front desk to nurses are all very kind too.
