Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Be sure to give this bakery a try. I would give it more stars if I could.

It was early on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't very busy. My drink came out quickly, and the food followed not long after. I ordered the Tequila Mockingbird cocktail, which was amazing, but only if you're a mezcal fan. If you're not into that smoky flavor, this probably isn't your drink. For food, I asked the bartender what burger to get, and she recommended the classic burger with cheese, so I went with that and added sweet potato fries. The burger and fries were delicious, simple, well done, and exactly what I was hoping for. The inside has a really nice dark, rustic vibe that fits the town perfectly. Staff was friendly, and overall the whole experience felt easy and relaxed. They do take reservations, but since I went early, I didn't need one. I can definitely see this place getting packed with tourists during busier times. Overall, a great spot in a charming little town. I'd come back.

And to my surprise, it was more than I was expecting. It was an old-fashioned brownie with the edges--you know, the chewy sides with a touch of burnt edges that we all loved. Also, they make cakes, and I loved the pretty green one. So I got a bit nosy, asking questions, and found that this is a full bakery. Yes, you can stop in and get a slice of cake, pies, and all kinds of delicious treats like brownies and cupcakes. But you can also order a whole cake. I like to say specialty cakes because they have flavors like the pretty Key Lime Cake with cream cheese icing on the outside and green on the inside. Another one that stands out is the Butter Pecan Cheesecake, Strawberry Crunch Cheesecake, or the Sweet Potato Red Velvet Custard Pie. It's truly a dessert paradise. One more thing: they cater to the holidays. If it's Labor Day, there will be treats dressed with the holiday decorations.

My sis purchased a red velvet from Shoppers Value when she saw they were sold in stores. She knows I'm not big on red velvet and am partial to the one cooked by Patricia Lyman. So to get me to purchase it, she said it's like Patricia's. The color was spot on but taste wise it wasn't to me. The cake was a little on the dry side. I even lifted the cakes to get the expiration date that was furthest out which was 9/30/25. Even if the cake had been freshly cooked today, there is no way I would even keep a cake in my house for this long. It's lucky to sit a whole week. I will upload locations in Macon these can be purchased from. I ONLY went to Shoppers Value because it was closest. But with the 10% extra charge I do not frequent here at all. My thing is you are not giving me a discounted rate if you charge 10% on top of the other tax. Just charge me regular price off the bat. Back to the cake...there are other flavors such as key lime and strawberry crunch so I recommend you try it for yourself. It would probably make a difference to try these when they are freshly baked. The review scores are as follows: My score: 3 Sissy Pooh: 4 The highest score was allotted as I try to be fair.

The space inside is modern chic and so inviting. They had TONS of pastry and sandwich options and I couldn't resist ordering a gluten free blondie. I ordered an iced matcha with almond milk and half pump of simple syrup. My husband just ordered an americano. It did take awhile to get our order-there were two other people ahead of us, but you could tell that everything was handcrafted. Everything we ordered was delicious! I found the Matcha a little too sweet for my liking even with half pump simple syrup. The blondie was divine. Service here was wonderful too.

We tried three different pastries, and none were great. The cheese danish was the worst. It wasn't made on flaky pastry. It was like a thick, chewy slab of pizza crust with some cheese and jam on top. Literally, the texture and taste was exactly like a thick, stale pizza crust. So confusing. The chocolate macaron was hard as a rock. We went across the street to the bookstore after and got macarons that were delicate, soft, and melted in our mouths, and the difference was striking. The gf pop tart was the best of the three, but even that was doughy and falling apart so that's not saying a lot! Overall, for a bakery, I was really disappointed. Coffee is consistently good, but man. The pastries really fell short.
