I absolutely was so happy with the cupcakes we got! Last minute I had another place cancel and Andrea really came through and helped create these adorable cupcakes for my sons birthday. I will definitely be giving her all my business for parties!

Got a great peppa pig cake for my daughter's birthday party!! The design was spot on, and the cake was delicious. Fresh tasting and the frosting was creamy and light, I don't usually like frosting but this was delicious. All of our guests asked where we got it! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 was because it was supposed to be a chocolate cake and we got vanilla--a delicious vanilla though! We'll have to order again to try chocolate.

Andrea makes the most amazing cakes and cupcakes for all occasions! She is so talented and exceeds our expectations in everything she creates. Not only is she flexible, but she is easy to communicate with. She is also reasonably priced and provides delivery. I highly recommend!

I ordered a German chocolate cake for my fiancé's birthday, and it was AMAZING. I wish I had photos but didn't manage to get one before we dug in. The cake was fresh and moist and so flavorful. The coconut bits were also so yummy and fresh. The star of the show was the frosting. The highest quality frosting I've ever tried. Clearly home made! I will definitely be ordering again! read more

I called Schuman Sweets to see if they had any ready-made cakes, because I had waited until the last minute, and needed a custom cake the next day. Andrea answered the call, and come to find out, she runs a to-order, custom sweet shop out of her home - nothing pre-made. So I thought I was sunk. How wonderfully wrong I was! The next day we had a delicious, moist German chocolate cake, complete with plenty of chunky coconut and pecan icing for hubby's birthday - his favorite! Andrea was not only accommodating on time, she was spot-on with quality and taste. We can't wait to taste what else she has to offer at the next family birthday! Also, she's not too far away. Yelp has her location listed in Aubrey. But she's actually in Cross Roads, which is a quick 15 minutes from west Frisco and Little Elm. read more

I chose Schuman Sweets because it was close to my mom's and we needed a last minute cake for my aunt's birthday. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect because I had never tried her cakes. Where do I begin. While in the Little Elm Texas area, I ordered some amazing cakes and cookies from Schuman Sweets. Their lemon cookies will make you say yum, but the Strawberry cake is like none other. You can taste the fresh Strawberries and the high quality ingredients that go into their baked goods. Oh I forgot about the Banana bread that I also get. This is just a thing of beauty!!! I have seen some of their custom cakes and they look amazing. I will definitely be ordering one of those baby's when the time comes. I think they will even deliver in the local area for a nominal charge. I have looked all over the Frisco and Little Elm Texas area and cant find anything that comes close to this. You owe it to yourself to try these products and you will be fan like me. read more

Anything you get from Schuman Sweets are second to none. I've had the pleasure of tasting the cookies, cakes and pies. Everything was fantastic and Andrea of Schuman Sweets will always go the extra mile to make exactly what you are looking for. Recently we had a family gathering for my mother's birthday and ordered a cake from Schuman sweets. The entire cake was eaten not to long after we blew out the candles and Mom did not go home with any left overs lol. There are two ingredients to a confection perfection. One the talent, the person behind the baking. And two the taste, the mouthwatering lingering sensation left on your palate. Schuman Sweets has both and then some. Andrea Schuman is just as sweet as her treats. She will go the extra mile and take your simplistic vision and turn it into artistic dessert dream. When I asked for a couple cookie for my fiance's 33rd birthday, I had no idea what I was in for. I wish I had a picture to post with this review. She created a sugar cookie in the shape of a beer mug with the foam at the top. She also included some chocolate chip cookies. Just to give you an idea of how addicting these were, they were supposed to be for the birthday party and my fiancé and I kept them for ourselves. By weeks end they were gone, and I was plotting a future order plan for our wedding. As she reads this, I'm hope her smile mirrors ours from the satisfaction we had gobbling up these goodies. Established in 2010.

The business started in Newnan, Georgia as a side project while Andrea was working in the culinary industry as her full time job. Andrea started to build Schuman Sweets as a full time business when her family relocated to the DFW area. She really made a name for herself during her time in Dallas the last 5 years. Andrea is now back in Senoia,Ga and ready to build her career in her hometown.

Meet the Business Owner: Andrea R.

Pastry Chef Andrea started baking from a young age under the care and advisory of her mother and grandmothers. The South is rich in many traditions, and one of its most important is baking. Growing up in the South allowed her to absorb these traditions. Her passion for baking led her to enroll in the Culinary Arts program at the West Georgia Technical College. Once she finished her classes, she worked at the Wyndham Hotel and conference center in Peachtree City, Georgia and then later earned the opportunity to work for Executive Chef Roy Khoo at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America as a Pastry Chef. In 2010, Andrea Started Schuman Sweets as a side business baking and catering weddings and special events for friends and family. Local word of mouth grew and her business doubled by years end. In 2017, she relocated to the DFW area with her family taking her baking business with her. She's been satisfying her new confection community with her southern charm one tasty bite at a time.

There was a cash bar, and while I spent $48 without tip on 4 drinks, I'd happily to it again. The food was delicious, there was salmon, chicken tenders, brisket, Cesar salad. The collard greens were not to my tasting, but I'm from the south and nobody makes collards better than my grandmas and aunts. Again....Kelly and her team deserve all the accolades for what was seemingly a stress free wedding environment. I'm not sure of the cost, but the mother of the bride assured me it was reasonably priced for a wedding planned in less than two months.

I just picked up my daughter's unicorn cake with an all over sprinkles cake for the bottom base. It is bigger than I was expecting, and the decor was perfect with different usage of decor tips for the top decor. My daughter is going to love it. Can't wait to sink my teeth into this!! I would definitely recommend Andrea with Schuman Sweets again. Andrea made a beautiful large round double cake for a reasonable price. Not only did she make this cake from a picture to the tee the taste of each forkful of Chocolate cake and red velvet was incredible. Now usually let's be honest you here there is cake after a meal you either past or ya like I'll take a small portion.... There was no small portions being asked for it was ill take two and one to go. Guadeloupe you are the best and I can not wait for my next order. Thank you for the cake and helping set up and the lollipops. May your business continue to grow and flourish your a gem.

I called the bakery first because I was looking for a caramel cake now get this caramel cake should…read morebe made with burnt sugar not melted craft caramels. they make caramel cake the way they're supposed to be made. My guess were overjoyed and everybody wanted a card to know where the place was however I didn't have any card but they looked it up. They had a lemon pound cake that was buy one get one free that I got just because it was buy one get one free that was very good. The people on the phone were very nice. They did not refer me to a website as too many people do this time they gave great customer service and great food. I recommend them highly.

I came across Cakes By Lyd at a pop up shop in East Point today. I bought a brownie cheesecake jar…read moreand a strawberry crumble cake. Besides the fact that I love brownies and cake, her presentation caught my eye. The cakes, cupcakes and jars were beautifully decorated and assembled. I wish I had taken pictures but I didn't think to post a review until after I left and tasted what I bought. O...M...G...the brownie jar was sooooooo good! I eat chocolate cake or brownies with cheesecake often and this was essentially that and so much more. The jar included brownies, cheesecake, fudge, caramel and pecans. The strawberry crumble cake was like eating a strawberry cake and a strawberry shortcake frozen dessert bar all in one. Cakes By Lyd has gained a new fan/customer.
