I am an advocate of small business and try to support small business whenever possible. I found this one a little out of my way but the reviews looked very promising, and I was excited to try it. I walked in and the baker was in the back I could see through the kitchen doorway. She looked up and saw me. I waited for a very long time with absolutely no acknowledgement. I understand being a small business you are wearing all of the hats and might be very busy and can't serve every single customer the very second they walk in the door, but at that point you say "hello" at least and let the customer know you'll be there shortly... or some thing. I got nothing. It was end of day and they were getting ready to close I'm sure. I saw 3 maybe 4 cupcakes left in the window. Even if that is really all there was left, I would've bought every one she had left and I'm a good tipper. Also, I strongly support small business especially if this is a woman owned business.... But no. I got completely ignored. There was a police presence in there too and they were staring at their phone. They saw me and then went back to staring at their phone. I wish I could say I got to try the wonderful items I see in these other reviews, but I was completely ignored. I am very disappointed.

We also made a special request for dulce de leche which is a typical flavor in Spanish cuisine. Megan, the owner of Cupcake LaRue, experimented with several recipes but when she finally gave us a taste test, my wife and I were blown away. We received so many compliments from both sides of our families. The food and photography were our biggest concerns for our wedding and Cupcake LaRue really delivered. Unfortunately the wedding cake and cupcakes were so delicious that we didn't have any left over for our one year anniversary. My wife was really upset about this so a few months ago I contacted Megan and asked her for two dozen cupcakes with the same flavors from our wedding. Today, I gave them to my wife as one of her Christmas presents and she was delighted. (Yes we have to celebrate early due to working in retail. haha) Two of each flavor are already sitting in our freezer waiting for May to come around.

And they don't write a lot of their so called "policies" on the site. There was a mistake that was made on the decoration of the cake mainly not their fault however it was partially their fault. they brushed it off and basically told me to fix THEIR MISTAKE id have to pay $150 for a brand new cake. They were rude over the phone. Overall this was a disappointing experienc. Ended up giving the cake away. The person I gave it to you didn't even like it.
