I brought my belt here to get another notch added. I called ahead of time and was told they do this work. When I picked up my belt it was destroyed. The hole they put in the belt ruined the leather, it was not the same shape, or size. This belt was a wedding gift from my fiancee. Inside the belt was engraved with our names, a message from my fiancee, and the wedding date. I could not wear this belt as it was ruined.
I demanded my money back, the cost of the belt and the cost of the hole. They treated this as a "sale" - they would pay me for the belt (because I purchased a new one which is irrelevant) however were going to keep the damaged belt?! Since when does a cleaners assume ownership of a customers belongings if they ruin it? The woman working there said "it's policy all dry cleaners practice this."
This belt had sentimental value to me. When I asked what they were going to do with it the seamstress mimicked as if she were putting the belt on and said she would wear it. My wedding gift?!
When it was all said and done I had my belt and $60. Instead of my being able to leave the store on my own the seamstress PUSHED me multiple times out of the door.
Poor craftsmanship, poor customer service, poor attitudes.
Knowing this belt meant a lot to me they should have had no problem giving it back, but instead they wanted to keep it and wear it.
If I were able to post a picture of the belt I would. It's pathetic. read more
