Our server was not personable at all, which was a bit uncomfortable at times. Inside is very chic and it felt like the right setting for an intimate birthday dinner. We started our meal with the hush puppies, and we each ordered a steak and side. I opted for the hangar steak while my partner went with the Kansas City, both of these cuts were new to us. The hangar steak was nice and tender with a meaty flavor. It was delicately topped with finishing salt and each bite was decadent. For our starter and sides, we both raved about the hush puppies and corn ribs - so creative! We'd skip the papas bravas next time - nothing special. I also ordered the cowboy butter but honestly the steak was plenty flavorful on its own. No enhancements needed. Overall, I'm glad that we got a unique steakhouse experience. RBC will nickle and dime you for everything on the table, which is understandable for the quality, but the service is so lackluster and stall. No birthday acknowledgement at the end either.

I've spent years working in the restaurant industry, and to me, serving pink, undercooked chicken to customers is unacceptable. Food safety should always be a priority, and this was a major concern for me.

Stand out employee alert!…read more Normally I wouldn't think to review a Grocery Outlet, but my experience warrants some recognition of a particular employee. I regret not getting her name, but on Sunday, 9/13 around 9am, I had the most pleasant exchange with a great cashier (the only one around at the time I was there). Tall, very long dark hair and brown eyes...told me she has 4 cats. Anyhoo, this nice lady was hands down the nicest, most chipper cashier I've interacted with ANYWHERE, anytime. Thoughtful, engaging, professional, helpful...she even offered me coffee and cookies. This gal sets the bar, give her a raise! High five ***** to our local CE Lovejoy's Market. Not only have I found the meat and fish department and bakery department to have quality choices, but they are reasonably priced for the convenience store without having to stroll through a bigger box store. Blue raspberry was so strong it nearly burned to eat? Salted caramel pretzel had an intense very fake pretzel flavor. Birthday cake tasted a lot like bubblegum (much to my daughter's delight). Surprisingly, the red velvet cake was quite good, and I don't actually like that kind of cake in real life. Also, I got more than I would have because I was confused so let me help anyone coming here in the future- the flat rate pricing only applies if you don't get ANY toppings. Once you add a topping, the price is by weight. So I accidentally got $25 of yogurt when I thought I'd be paying $17. Not a fun surprise. 3 stars because I wasn't impressed with the yogurt or the prices but my kids loved it all. Definitely geared more toward them. Bodega Market

Service and selection both missing on the day of our mid afternoon Monday visit. So much less…read morethan we expected, given we were fans of the guy who owns this from the days we lived in Bend and he was chef/owner of a soup food cart in downtown Bend and then owner / chef at Barrio in two downtown locations (now Bar Rio next door) as well as Shimshon for Israeli fare which started as food truck and now bricks and mortar service counter at The Grove. We expected a variety of good eats as take out options here based on the marketing materials for Bodega so braved downtown parking specifically to go here to pick up something good to eat to take with us to the house we were staying at for a few days as visitors. Here is what is described in their marketing stuff: "We prep it, you take it home, and knock the pants off your family and friends. The grab-and-go meals and grocery essentials at Bodega are inspired by our travels throughout Mexico, Spain, Israel, and the Mediterranean. .. Worth the trip downtown? Uh huh. Satisfy those mid-day hangries? Yup. Best of all, we can bottle it, box it, and you take it home. That's the beauty of Bodega. " What we found in the grab and go cold case was a few plastic containers of two kinds of salad, one of which looked as if it had been there a while. The girl at the counter didn't bother to look up from the book she was reading as we walked in or at any time to ask if she could help even though my husband and I were clearly talking about our confusion for limited options for fresh take out and wondering if we were looking in the wrong spot. Finally we interrupted her reading to ask her about it and she looked up, answering our questions and when we asked how to tell which salad was the was freshest she answered that question too. We felt very much as if we were interrupting her free time. Maybe we hit them on a bad day, Bar Rio is closed on Mondays for example, and if the options are coming from that kitchen, maybe the low inventory was due to that. But the lack of service didn't help. On the flip side, someone walked in who works at another of the downtown stores, picked up a candy bar and she and the woman behind the counter had a friendly chat about the reading material. I think if you were working downtown and popped in for something like a bag of chips (big selection for such a small space), or soda or candy bar or package of cheese this would work swell. It may even work well if you are downtown anyway on some other day but Monday when they are better stocked to grab something to take with you. But for what we expected, helpful service and good selection of take away prepared foods, we found neither. It was not a return on the effort to find downtown Bend parking to to in.

It's nice having such a place downtown. It serves in a pinch. However. Be aware that they are more…read moreexpensive than an average convenience store. Also, they have no cat. What's a bodega without a cat?
