Pep Boys - this is after they admitted there was an oil leak and fixed it today.

Pros: Extremely helpful Very polite…read moreThorough Had parts in stock Cons: Takes a long time even with appointment Overpriced I took my fiancés 2016 jeep Cherokee in for an oil change today, and to have the brakes and rotors looked at. My appointment was for 1 PM, I didn't leave there until about 5 PM, so it definitely took a long time. When I got there, Sean was at the desk and helped me get set up with the car. Went through the oil change and costs with me and we discussed the brakes. I told him the issues we were having, and he was going to check them out. The oil change took little over an hour. Sean then came to tell me we needed all four pads and rotors replaced and what it was going to cost, which was about $1400. I asked him if we would be better off buying the parts and doing it ourselves, and he said with the cost of parts today, probably not. So I gave them the green light. I went to Mizu and was talking to my dad about the cost who informed me that I was being screwed out of money. So I looked up some of the parts and looked like a lonely psychopath sitting by myself in Mizu crying eating a sushi roll because life loves hitting us with big costs one after another. So, I went back over to Sean to talk about this. I asked him to print me a slip showing exactly what I'm paying for, which he very kindly did. He was very transparent with the costs and labor. The problem was with pep boys prices. They quite literally marked up one rotor more than 100%. I showed him the exact part on the internet, and how I'm being charged $400 in markups on just the rotors. Sean helped me very patiently for quite a while. He went through all the costs with me and answered every one of my questions. I kept offering to let other people go in front of me, but he declined that. Sean did literally everything he could to help me out with cost today which I am incredibly thankful for. He dropped costs everywhere he could. At the end of it, with all of the discounts, we still paid about $450 in labor and markups. Both Sean and Jason were absolutely great and very helpful, and I was happy to have dealt with them. If you don't care about cost, I'd definitely recommend this place. However this can be done for a lot cheaper on your own or probably in a more personal shop instead of a chain. If they didn't already start the work, I would have just left and had my fiancé do it. But what was done was done, so learning lesson for me and hopefully for whoever reads the reviews. Jason and Sean, thanks again for all of your help today! Appreciate you guys!

That was actually a good thing, despite my hatred for people who force sell products. They were friendly and explained my dire need for new tires.. It's an easy sell when you talk about car tires and footwear. I just love shoes . Anyway my times spent in the lobby w jenn was fun despite the uncomfortable chairs. But then again it's what is expected. Gino our service person was giving us a play by play of what was going on and needed done. He had personality and charisma, and his knowledge helped us with our tire selection. He also noticed I had a brake light out. Good thing the didn't notice I didn't want to from the police. Overall we are going to come back to get my car aligned and weighted once the tires settle. Stop by and see the guys.

(Since we got here at 3:30, only two cars have gone inside for tires.) I went into the shop to let the cashier know that a black car cut in line in front of five others who had been waiting for hours. He shrugged and said he knew; they (supposedly) had been waiting inside (which makes absolutely no sense). There is no organization; people can cut without repercussions, and staff couldn't care less. I will never, ever be back. Update at 5:44 pm: the young man who just came to talk to me was super nice! I need to mention him because he is an awesome employee who looks no older than 20. He is trying to take care of me, and I appreciate HIM immensely (not the rest of this experience).
