One week later after still never calling me back, I call the Garage Door Guys and they installed a new operator for me and were great to deal with. I can't give Scofield a horrible rating because they never accepted my business, but I think this review and a 3/5 are a fair rating. I will also note I live in a house that needs all new windows and 2 new sliding glass doors, if I had had a good experience with this much smaller job I very likely would have given them that business as well. But now I know that, for whatever reason, they don't do what they say and they aren't diligent in communicating with customers. Hopefully they do better for future customers.

Lonnie took my call, answered all my questions, and quoted me a fair price based on what other such installations have cost. A month later I called them and scheduled the installation. (Needed to get some electrical work done first.) When Adam arrived he did some quick measurements based on how the garage doors opened and informed me that the track for the belt drive openers wouldn't fit since I had such a low ceiling. He took photos and discussed it with Nick, the Service Manager. After some serious discussions a solution was found and thanks to the exceptional team of Adam, Nick, and Lonnie I now have excellent garage door openers and an answer why previous owners never installed them. You might think that seems like a fishy tactic to lure in customers for shoddy work. Definitely not the case here! Scheduling the appointment was a breeze and the technician let me know when he was on the way. My issue was a dead circuit board in my 20 year old garage door opener. The tech went over the replacement options along with clear and upfront pricing. Once I decided, he was able to do the install right away! While he was there he went ahead and gave my other garage a tune-up as well. Both doors are quieter and smoother than they have ever been. It's actually kind of amazing how much better they are now. Do not use this company. Their post-install was extremely poorly done. They had to come back…read moremultiple times to correct the positioning of our storm door which still does not shut properly. Our kitchen door feels like it is locked often, but it's not, it also was poorly installed so you have to turn the knob and feel the grinding and crunching of metal as you open the door. However, the real issue is with the storm door with retractable screens on top and bottom Window pane. We have dogs and do not use the bottom screen in an effort to prevent damage from dog scratching. However, our HVAC stopped working over the weekend therefore I was excited to use the bottom screen feature so I could place a box fan in front of it as soon as I lift it up the bottom of glass, a black device with a metal tracking guide popped out. I have no idea what it is, but it is certainly strong because when I touched it it coiled and almost ripped my finger off. Matty told me over and over again how proud he was of this Door in the quality and my dogs will never be able to scratch the glass but if they ever do, they will replace it because it's a lifetime warranty on their products. Today Matty said oh well that was everything except for storm doors. With the amount of problems we've had with not only damage to our walls which they did not offer to repair, these have never worked to their full potential. I also forgot they didn't put a storm door chain on our door and had to come back like a third or fourth time to do that. This company is incompetent. Their communication sucks and the quality of their products. I'm just not seeing the hype. We've regretted using this company since the day they came to install Which leads me to our tiny bathroom window they smartly add a sticker that says do not press against the screen. It's probably because it's set with a cheap glue. Our screen has never been attached to the windows since the day they installed it we corrected this on our own because we were sick and tired of dealing with this company and their crap. The storm door was not capped off, nor were we given a bag of inserts to cap off our door and outside bugs crawled up in there and could come in my house through the strike plate on the door frame. I could not believe this. ???? The varnish is also coming off....What is happening?? This is not normal and I refuse to believe otherwise. These doors were EXPENSIVE, honey. I am also married to a man who Preaches quality over quantity. He was happy to spend lots of money on these doors to have good ones. These aren't it. There are too many other options out there to be spending this kind of money and be dealing with this many issues. We are now doing a whole home remodel and we are going to be spending some serious money but the best part is it will not be with Meyer windows and doors . Siding Project: Salesperson was polite and showed us options. After we signed the contract and…read morereceived packet (which stated) within 48 hours we would receive a welcome email from project coordinator introducing themself and would be handling the project from start to finish. We did not receive and after a week, reached out to the number given. On three different occassions I left messages and never received a call or response. The week of potential start I reached out to customer care as we had not heard anything and this was 3 weeks later. After reaching out to them, I received a text with start date and information about delivery of supplies and dumpster. The day of the delivery, the supplies were delivered however, no dumpster. It stated in the text the project manager would reach out to us in the afternoon and give us a start time. At 5 p.m., I had not heard anything so I reached out to customer care again. I was told they would have someone call. I gave them my cell number and after my 3 calls, I get home at 9 p.m. and check my husbands phone and there was a text. So, the following morning, the project manager showed up before the crew and found that not all of the supplies had been delivered. He was there until the crew got there and then left to go get what had not been delivered. He was very nice and very informative as to letting us know that there was enough for the crew to get started. Just a few hours into the project, we lost power in the three rooms on the corner of the house where they had started working at. When asked, the crew said they had done nothing. We notified the project manager. We contacted an electrician who spent 2 1/2 hours, he finally said the problem is in this specific area. When we went out to talk to the crew, they denied doing anything again. Finally, my husband said he needed that area uncovered so we could look at it. They would not so he did. Only to find that the crew had used a saw and went through our studs, cut three wires and it sparked the insulation. The crew leader tried to deny doing that, however finally one of the crew admitted they had used the saw. We are now getting into late afternoon/early evening so I contacted the project manager and notified him and authorized the electrician to do what he had to in order to get us up and running. The crew tried to tell me that we had to wait for them to get their electrician. I disagreed and dealt with the project manager who said he would be taking care of the situation. Day 2, the crew said they could not side the one area where we had our solar equipment. This was not acceptable as the day the salesman gave us the quote he took pictures of the exterior house and sent to engineers for information to put the quote together. After multiple discussions, it was decided that there was another crew that would do that area and they would be out to do that area. Further, issues were they installed the lighting mounts wrong and tried to rig it which would have left it looking unprofessional. We have three dogs and they knew it. The one day they left and dumped a bunch of nails and screws next to the steps where the dogs go out and did not pick them up. We had to clean the area as they were not going to be back for a couple days and we could not risk our animals being injured. Additionally, they broke one of our outlet covers on the outside of the house and then tried to box in the outlet not using proper supplies. At the end of every day, I had to clean up the yard after they left as they left mellow yellow cans and water bottles scattered on the ground. Additionally what should have been a 2-3 day project ended up taking 3 weeks due to all the issues and not enough siding. There was a lot of blaming going on. There were some additional smaller issues, however, we have agreed to fix them ourselves. I will say that the project manager did every time try to make things right. He was the only one that was honest and attentive to the issues. This would have been a 1 star had it not been for the project manager.
