Failed to make the promised 4 to 6 week production promise. It was 8 weeks. Three windows were installed and installer showed how they made wrong with too much side play. Two more week delay. Asked that leave the aluminum storm windows and screens so I could recycle them. Left two of fifteen sets. Installers left a large screw in the driveway ready to flatten a tire. Installers were nice and the installation looks professional. Love the windows, service needs a lot of help! read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid. Shoddy workmanship, and suboar windows. Project cost was significantly higher than the "estimate". They lowball you just to get your business. Reaching out to the owner Mike in Ohio is useless. Once he gets your money, he could care less what happens. Should have gone with Marvin or Anderson. At least they would fit and would block the elements. read more

I would never do business with a shameless islamaphobe like the owner of Gilkey Windows. read more

Gilkey Window Company - Hateful prejudice against muslims - Windows Installation Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

we replaced our builders grade windows hoping to stop all the drafts coming in around the windows. Not happening I've had to tape and install insulation at the bottom of each window. had them come out to adjust the windows that he said would fix the problem. No improvement after the adjustment. we really like the patio door and it does not leak, but the windows poor quality. You can feel the cold coming right through the glass and around the bottom of the window. read more

I have a Gilkey window that the seam has broken and had them come look. They agreed and said they would replace it. Three times they have scheduled the install and three times they claim they "ordered the wrong glass." The installer who finally called me this afternoon to tell me said they knew this morning they did not have the glass but never bothered to call me. Wasted a whole day waiting for them. Update March 2026. After speaking to installation manager attempted repair again. Today the window was changed and looks great. Honored their warranty. Gave four starts instead of five due to initial issues. read more

Amazing service. The installers were the best. I would highly recommend this company. 5 stars!!!

Our experience with Gilkey Windows was great from start to finish. The Customer Service Rep was knowledgeable and pleasant. The Estimator was timely and set proper expectations for price and installation. Once the job was finished, it looked like Installers had never been here except for the gorgeous, new picture window in our 2nd floor bathroom. read more

When we ordered the windows we were told the production lead-time would be about 4 months. It turned out to be almost exactly the 4 months quoted. The crew that came to do the install were quick and efficient. My wife has a blood disorder that requires fairly strict masking when people are indoors. The install crew fully respected that. The match between the fiberglass and our wood window sills is excellent. At the end of their work they left the work areas spotless. We'll use them for "phase 2" of our remodeling later this year. read more

Gilkey Window Company - Gilkey window installation. - Windows Installation Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

Very mixed review. I won't fault companies that have struggled due to the pandemic but Gilkey's response time was consistently slow. I had to contact them about twice for every return call/text/ email. That said, how a company that would sell a potential $50-60K installation doesn't have a software program that shows what the windows and sashes will look like on the house (Ie stacked windows, thickness of sashes etc) is beyond me. I was very disappointed in the final look--actually shocked at how thick the frames/sashes ended up being and how much less glass there was. I can see the window frames from inside the house, through the expensive interior wood shutters I had previously installed. I was told the shutters wouldn't be affected. Well yes, technically true, but now the shutter frames don't cover the sashes, as they did. I have to replace one shutter at $500 because you see too much of the window sash through the shutter and it looks odd (see pictures). I wrote the company sales rep who apologized that the result wasn't what I expected. I know that these are inset windows (less cost) as compared to full tear out which would have increased the glass area and cost. But the difference was still not clearly explained or demonstrated. That said, the quality of Gilkey's fiberglass windows seems very good and I am satisfied with how easily the casement windows work. Installation went well and as planned. Please Gilkey-- update your technology! read more

I ordered a patio door in June 2024 and when the techs came to measure I was told about an ADA footing available. I was surprised that the salesperson had not mentioned it, so I changed my order (and my financing) to reflect the new footing. Communication from the company about where my order stood was non-existant. The installers came mid-September and I mentioned the new footing that had been ordered. The new footing was not on the truck. I was told it would be a week or so to get the new one in and they would install it right away. Again, communication about the order is non-existant. I finally went down to the showroom and was able to talk to the installation manager who was quite helpful but informed me that the footing would not be arriving until the end of October. While the people at the company have been helpful when I make contact, I would like someone to teach them that communication is the key to customer relations. Occasional phone calls or emails as to status would be very helpful to customers and would ease their minds about an order. read more

Easiest home improvement job we've ever had, if I could give these guys 10 stars I would. Our back door was worn and needed replacing. We had heard of Gilkey's reputation, but had not used them. The job was quoted, measured and installed super quick, everyone who came to our home was a true professional. We LOVE our new back door, highly recommended! read more

I'm not one to post bad reviews...unless something is really really awful. Here goes...I cannot say how incredibly unhappy I am with GILKEY WINDOWS. We decided to replace ALL the windows in our house and put a deposit down 6 MONTHS AGO. The long awaited install was scheduled for today and we are ready. All furniture moved 3 feet away from ALL the windows and ALL the window treatments are down. At 9a they called to tell me they have to move the install to tomorrow. Oops...sorry. Every time I've called they have made me feel like I'm the problem or told me how great a job they do. I can't rescind the order either. Stay away from these folks...I don't wish these unprofessional people on anyone. read more

I bought a house with a gilkey French door. When I called about the glass seal being broken and frosty film inside the door the service department was 0 help. They said they didn't have a glass that size even when I told them the item number and gilkey sticker on the inside. So much for the lifetime warranty they offer . read more

The Gilkey windows I had installed a few years ago have a design flaw that causes the main weather strip seal to fail every year or two. The windows leak cold air like crazy. I have had them repaired by Gilkey twice for the same problem and the cost was $100 per repair. To make matters worse, Gilkey won't stand behind their service for more than 14 days! It is clear to me that the company only cares about themselves. Don't be fooled by the slick sales staff. These windows are bad news and you won't be happy having to service them every year or two. I contacted the company twice, but all they can manage to say is "sorry". Yes, I am sorry I chose them to install windows in my home. read more

As Long time customer (40 years) I would have thought replacing a patio sliding door would have been a breeze. Sales staff was excellent and the follow up team understood completely what I was wanting to do. Was given an October 1 2022 install date, so by the 14th I was extremely upset that I hadn't heard anything. So after leaving several messages the installation manager called and said yea the door had been sitting there but he wouldn't be able to install until November 1 2022. We'll that came and went and was told they would shoot for the Nov. 4 2022. The installation team came out and did a great job on the installation. The door looks great and looks exactly as I had hoped, although today I noticed they need to come back out and make some alignment issues. Altogether I disappointed that the job was drug out the way it was and will be rethinking my next project! read more

Tom T was correct. We also found out that "The Gilkey Difference" is truly different. Their lifetime warranty is non transferable unless the original purchaser chooses to pay extra to have it transferred to future owners. All of the major window replacement companies in our area I contacted, offer a $50 transfer fee to future owners. Not so with Gilkey. I was told in a voice mailed left by Mike Gilkey that, "I could call his office but I would be wasting my time." I would never recommend Gilkey Windows. read more

I'm very disappointed with my windows.I have called customer service and received no satisfaction. I have written a letter to Mr. Gilkey, with no response, and have submitted a previous email, with no response. The windows lasted exactly as long as the warranty. I just called again and spoke with the manager of customer service. Apparently, Mr Gilkey told him that for $320 I can have the seal replaced. Next windows won't be from Gilkey. read more

Although the "Gilkey difference" web page states their warranty is transferable, it is not. Gilkey windows in our home have a label indicating they were installed in 2004, by the previous owner. In January 2018, we called about a cracked casement window in our living room and 3 other windows with film that has separated from the glass inside the double panes - out of a total of 21 windows. So, 1 out of 7 of our Gilkey windows have failed after 14 years. I was told the previous homeowner chose the "lifetime warranty" instead of a "transferable warranty". BEWARE: The "Gilkey difference" is VERY different from what their website states. read more

I purchased Gilkey windows many years ago. I just finished cleaning them and reflected on how much I love these windows and the investment was so worth it. (I got a second job so I did not have to finance and could get the specific windows I wanted). When they were installed the folks were great. Very courteous and clean. I recently needed to replace some locks and customer service was great. I still pull down my street and love the look of them. My neighbor even purchased from Gilkey read more

I ordered patio doors through them seven years ago and they were very professional in the installation. The price was the best of the four places we got quotes from. Most importantly they service us very professionally . We dropped our screens off to be prescreened and they do it for free in a few days. read more

We replaced all of the windows, patio door, front door and storm door in 1999. In the almost twenty years we have had all of these Gilkey products we have only had one or two small problems..One call to Gilkey and they were taken care of immediately.Everyone we have had any contact with over all these years went above and beyond our expectations..It great to deal with a company that stands behind all of the products they sell, even after all of these years..I highly recommend Gilkey to anyone that needs replacements windows or doors.. read more

Love my Gilkey Windows! Very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. I'd recommend Gilkey Windows 100%. Great prices- Great service. Kiki

pretty much whatever they tell you is a lie. first piece of advice. dont buy your windows here. second. if you are unfortunate enough to buy here after talking to the salesmen get EVERYTHING in writing. ask to talk to mike gilkey. if you cant see that that guy is a scam artist i feel sorry for you. get everything in writing. they gave us a price. we were told they had to take it back to the office for apprroval. when they returned with contract in hand and said yes we can do it. the price increased by 40%. i said WTF is this. he said ok the boss said i quoted the wrong price but he corrected it for us. for us? US? or the owner. so he raised it 40% and gave it back to us to sign and the salesman said the boss corrected it for US. needless to say i kicked him out so fast he forgot his hat hahah.. i threw it in the trash .. scam artist place .. STAY AWAY read more

Called to get my Gilkey window repaired, the lady said my Lifetime Warranty had expired, it really is only 20 years. For $100 a hour plus parts they could come out. I asked how much for a new window, she said about $900, This is a small bathroom window, I have seen for about $200. at other places. I will not even go into all the other topic of their exploding windows, that they did finally fix. This review speaks for itself. read more

I replaced all the windows on my house with Gilkey Windows. I love the windows! However, our salesman made a couple of mistakes on our order which Gilkey corrected. Also, the salesman did not explain that I could change the outside color of the window. The original color was white so white was ordered for the new windows. In hind site, Pebblestone Clay would have been beautiful on my house. So...I love the windows but do not like the outside color. I paid a lot of money to be disappointed on the color. read more

Bottom line is that I will never use or recommend them again. This is due to multiple errors and a clear lack of management responsiveness. 1) Measurements were wrong for 9 windows, 2) I had to notify our sales rep of the error, 3) When correct windows were ready (response time for reproduction was good) the scheduler is confused saying my 3 windows are ready, 4) Calling to talk to management and my voice mail transferred to the wrong person, 4) When calling back left another voice mail for management to call me but they have the scheduler call, 5) Contacting my sales rep to say I am frustrated I get a call from the Sales Manager. When I tell him I wanted to talk to management the response is that "I can't tell my manager that he has to be more responsive." If that is the case then maybe there is a bigger problem with management. 6) Finally when management calls the conversation was weak, disjointed and they admitted that when an error occurs it seems like things just get worst. Really! Installation crew and Sales Rep were good but this does take away for my disappointment and frustration. For this frustration I received a 3% discount. Wow, thanks for the consideration. Businesses are judged on how they react when there are errors and in this case it was very poor. read more

Requested a salesman come to our house for a new patio door versus the sliding door we had. Bought a double patio door with the double phantom screens. Honestly the door is pretty cheap looking and therefore overpriced. Wished I had seen the real door material instead of a just a color sample. Wished I had gone elsewhere. There seems to be a gap in the doors meeting together. I have not even mentioned that to the service department yet. But my real issue is the screen door handle must be missing a part or something is not tight enough because the handle slides down to the bottom of the screen. I have called the service department several times (more than 3) and requested a call back. To date I have not received a call back. If you are looking for quality and customer service I could unfortunately not recommend Gilkey Window Company. And I honestly hate to say that since they are a local company. read more
