Purchased a pair of shoes for my wedding. To start, it took nearly 3 weeks for shipping. Mind you, I live a few hours away from Los Angeles which tells me they dont carry the shoe. The shoe began tracking out of the country. Secondly, upon receipt of the shoe, they arrived damaged. A representative tried to tell me they are 100% brand new but the packaging in itself is off. If you order online and decide to return you item as I did due to the shoe being too narrow, not only do you pay shipping to and fro, plus tracking and insurance but they will also deduct a $10 restocking fee from your refund. I came in looking for new men's dress shoes as my current ones were falling apart. I had been referred to the store when I called a suit shop nearby inquiring about dress shoes. They told me to ask for Maurice. The owner Maurice, was extremely patient and kind and helped me select a great pair of men's dress shoes. We even took one hundred dollars off the purchase when he found out I was in college. I would definitely return when in need of dress shoes again as Maurice steered me away from the older fashions and to the shoes more in line with what my peers were purchasing. Located in Downtown LA is a shop where you might find some of the sharpest kicks this side of Chicago, but here's the deal...C & E isn't for everyone. Let's be real, there are lots of guys who won't buy a suit for the price some of the shoes at C & E go for. That's o.k. because when you really need to make a fashion statement C & E will still be there for you. Now to further clarify all this confusion, let's be clear what I'm talking about. I'm talking about shoes, not just any shoes but EXOTICS. Now when I say EXOTICS I'm talking gators, ostrich, eel, lizard, snake etc. And don't get it twisted these aren't Stacy Adams shoes (not that there's a single thing wrong with them) were talking Mauri, Magnanni, Mezlan, Moreschi, Alberto Guardiani, Etro and Bacco Bucci. Now don't go judging a book by its cover when you shop for exotics. It's a completely different ballgame. The funkiest looking pair on the shelf is likely the one that will look fly'est on the foot. And when you come to C & E start asking for what you want to see because chances are they'll have just what you need it just might not be on display. Aside from being expensive, these shoes are damn near indestructible. Yes, you will need to find a qualified shine man to handle your exotics but aside from that all you'll need to do is have your shoes re-soled every few years and they'll outlast your puny carbon life-form. Imagine the security of a steel toed boot combined with the comfort of a high quality dress shoe and that's what the brands I mentioned will give you. As for me, I had just spent an obscene amount of money for a tailor made tuxedo. Patent leather would be far too disrespecting for my precious garment. Having a fondness for Mezlan I'd opt for a black gator/calfskin lace up complete with gator wrapped tassel ends. I've know one of the principles at C & E for a few years. When I mentioned if he was around I was pleasantly introduced to his sister. Alani went out of her way to not only help me find the right shoe but also a complimenting belt as well (not on display). They seem to have another stockroom nearby because every time I inquired about an item a runner would bolt out the door and suddenly reappear with said item moments later. If I could give this shoe store zero stars I truly would. Never in my life have I dealt with such unethical, unprofessional, and blatantly rude people. I have never written a review on any platform because I have never felt the need to until now. Bear with me as 1 order turned into almost a 3 week saga. I came across C&E shoes on my instagram as an advertisement and saw some very cool looking shoes. I saw that they were on sale and decided to try and support somewhat of a local business and not a brand name chain given the current circumstances. I am normally a men's 8.5, with some of my shoes being an 8 or 9 at times. I ordered an 8.5 and alas when they came my feet were swimming in them. I called C&E to explain that I needed to exchange them for a smaller size. The woman who works there told me I needed to pay the shipping to return the pair of shoes. While I knew about this policy before placing the order I should have seen it as the first red flag-who in this day and age makes a customer pay to return something?? I obviously agreed and made no issue of it then. I then called her to ask how to proceed with the exchange process as there was no return slip included in my package. She told me to write a note explaining what new shoe I wanted and the size. I did exactly that and included it inside the box of returned shoes. After I sent the shoe and she received it, she called me to ask what new shoe I wanted and the size for it. Ummmm did you read the note? Is it really that hard? I could not have been clearer- I included the model name, model number, and size all in a short letter. That was the second red flag that indicated I was dealing with an extremely incompetent team. After we settled which new shoe I wanted and the size, she made it appear as though everything would be smooth sailing. However, the next day she called me and explained that she needed to charge my card again to pay for the shipping of the replacement pair to my house. She also said with such confidence and audacity, "I'm just going to go ahead and charge your card now." I was absolutely floored and mortified. Despite my tone in this review, I am normally extremely calm but this tipped me over the edge. She said that it was company policy and that even though the day before she said that she would not charge me to ship the replacement pair back to my home, she was mistaken. It is not my problem if she told me something one moment and then the next she realized she was mistaken. In no way is it my responsibility to pay for her mistakes either. She kept trying to charge me for the shipping and I kept declining. And the WORST part was that this was not actually company policy as she stated because in their return policy on their website it actually says, "You are responsible for the cost of shipping items back to C&E Fashions. We WILL ship your replacement items at NO ADDITIONAL COST." Bottom line is that this woman did not even know her own company policy and instead tried to blatantly fool and bully me. How hard is it to do one's job and do it well? I understand that these are extremely tough times for everyone right now but this behavior, rudeness, and utter lack of care for a NEW customer is mind-blowing. I have worked in bars, restaurants, and more- so I do know what customer service is, and let me tell you this was not it. It was far from it. I highly advice anyone reading this post to think twice about shopping here-save yourself the money, time, and effort because it will surely not be reciprocated. read more

My Sister purchased shoes online for my son's prom with her credit card and had them shipped to my address, which I never received them supposedly because it was fradulent. We had to go to the actual store to pickup my son's shoes on the same day as prom to show the credit card and when we arrived they couldn't find the shoes and was very rude and unprofessional, if my son didn't need these shoes they would have not gotten any business from us.
